We stayed in a Jungle bure which was nice because you have an in suite bathroom. The snorkeling is the best we have ever done, just steps form our room.Lots of good food, great staff and fun sunsets.

I would def. Recommend this resort to all my family and friends who are "water people."....this resort is a short 3 hour ferry ride away from Suva(Fiji's main island) and sits on the best house reef I have ever been to(and I've snorkeled/dived the Great Barrier Reef, bonaire, Turks and Caicos Islands and the Florida Keys)...the house reef is just steps from the shore and in my two weeks I was there I saw a White tip reef shark, large eels, a good sized octopus, lobster, sting rays and of course huge manta rays....:the resort itself has 3 types of accommodations, dorms for the backpacker types, tree house buros(which is just a small room with two beds in it) and then it also has slightly larger jungle buros which is the same as the tree house buro but they have their own bathrooms..... So there is a type and price of accommodation for every budget. Your on a very tropical island and yet my room had no bugs(the staff came in every day to clean the room, make the bed and spray for bugs....I'm a real real picky eater and yet I always had plenty of choices....the staff is so friendly too, they love kids and it really shows.... I know the staff at every resort are all paid to be nice to the guest, but the staff at mantaray resort never appeared to be "faking it"....one such example is when me and my 9 year old son was coming back from a swimming excursion, the sun had gone down, we were both wet and it was late, one of the staff took off his uniform shirt so that my son could cover with it...there are a few more examples that I had seen of this kind of attention I could write about... Now I'll say this, I'm a budget traveler, I don't need room service or a lux. spa, which is a good thing as this resort has neither, but if your looking for a basic but clean room, on a small and very beautiful island and if your a diver or snorkeler and you love the change to encounter marine life then you HAVE to stay at mantaray Island resort in Fiji.....
