I stayed in this luxury hotel for one night while on an organized tour of China that included Nanjing. Having already stayed at a number of hotels in China, this hotel had one of the most impressive lobbies in terms of its grandeur and decor. The huge lobby was wall to wall marble, with the exception of a carpeted area in the centre which added some badly needed warmth to the massive room. An elegant, yet very modern long crystal chandelier hung from the high ceiling over this carpeted area. What really caught my attention in the lobby however, was the display of a Chihuly-like colourful hand-blown glass sculpture that made me wonder if it was one of (world-renowned glass sculptor’s) Dale Chihuly’s exhibits, or one that simply resembled his unique style. Regardless, it was nice to see something familiar and beautiful at the same time. The decor and grandeur of the hotel almost made me feel as if I were in Vegas. As for our hotel room, it was modern, clean and spacious with a functional large flat screen TV. The beds were excellent and the comforters were nice and cozy. I also liked the bathroom which was modern and included a bath as well as a shower. The only problem I had was with the water pressure, which was disappointingly weak. My only other criticism, was that barely any of the staff spoke English, which surprised me for a hotel of this stature. To end on a positive note, I enjoyed their breakfast buffet which was pretty good and plentiful.
A beautiful luxury room, clean, comfortable but nothing closeby. Wifi is good and easily to connect. The hotel quite far from the city, about 40 minutes by driving. Overall for me, it was a really good experience.
This hotel is near a Military base. We were told not to go outside the hotel at night because there are nothing near the hotel. The room was big. Bathroom has rain forest shower and bath tub. There was no internet when I stay there. Internet was fine. Breakfast was good.
One of the best so far in our 6 day tour of Shanghai and surrounding areas. Big room and very clean. Great work area and additional seating with couch. Wifi was easy to connect with the in-room mini router. 4 digit room number but does not mean upper floors. In fact room 8188 is in the CD wing and on the first floor of that wing. A little confusing but definitely recommend.
This location isn't close to anything with in walking distance. Wifi does work in lobby and bedroom. How ever limited what your allowed to use. Room is very spacious. Even has a desk. Tv had a few English channel only. Bed is on the harder side. Shower water pressure is on the lower side.
It was a overnight stay while on a recent China package tour and hotel room are relatively big though a little upkeeping is needed (eg cupboard, bathtub abit old). The cafe that serve breakfast is quite nice and serve a good choice spread.
Jinling Hotel ,the hotel is well positioned for shopping and access to transport. staff were very helpful, polite and knowledgeable. all in all, an excellent stay. no faults experienced, the breakfast it's very good and staff are friendly and profession !!
Hotel is a long drive through the countryside, far from the walls of Nanjing. Rooms are big and comfortable but beware of the mosquitoes. We were warned at check-in and anti-bug incense is provided in the rooms. They seemed to work, as we saw mosquitoes but did not suffer their bites. Internet connection is via in-room ethernet and was pretty fast. Breakfast buffet was ok, not a huge selection, but sufficient enough. Staff generally seemed ok. Was told that the hotel is popular with arms dealers and is often filled with buyers from war-torn countries looking to build up their arsenals.
Hotel smells like cigarette smoke everywhere. The restaurant food was terrible even when included as part of our package price. Hard bed and just not all that great of a property. Nothing to eat around the hotel and kinda out in the middle of nowhere. Would definitely stay elsewhere given the chance but someone else from our China team booked the reservation for us.
Disclaimer: I stayed at this hotel as part of a 6-night ultra-cheap China tour. We paid $49 for a 6-night tour including meals, so my review may be biased by the fact that that I effectively paid $8 per night to stay here. This is a beautiful 5-star hotel, but there were people smoking in the lobby and throwing their cigarette butts on the floor. I think that is quite common throughout China. Room was very nice and well-equipped with all the amenities you could need. Bathroom is also lovely, with a standing bathtub inside the shower. Gym had a few machines, including treadmill, bicycle, and elliptical. Negatives: Wired ethernet is provided in every room, but wireless is only available in the lobby. I only brought an iPad so I needed to use the wifi. Breakfast is okay. The variety isn't as much as Shanghai 5-star hotels, but they had some mochi which was good. It gets very crowded with all the tour groups showing up to breakfast at the same time. There were not enough tables and we had to share with strangers. Some people could not find a seat at all. This hotel is frequently used by discount tour groups, so you will encounter large groups of very noisy people. The housekeeping staff is very annoying. They knocked on the door to clean the room at 7:30 am! I told them we were not ready, and then they came back at 7:45 am. I did not answer the door because I was on the toilet, so they just opened the door and walked in. How rude! They knocked on the door again at 8:00 am. I don't know why they were in such a rush to come into my room, but I did not like it.
