Hollywood Lodge and Green Jewel Adventures is a unique accommodation located in the town of Steinkopf. The house dates back to 1868 and was originally a shop owned by Leipoldt Brêcher, the son of Ferdinand Brêcher. The building served as a dancehall and school. It earns the name Old Hollywood. In 1983, the property was purchased by Johannes Vries, who renovated it and turned it into a home. Letitia was inspired by her family's history and today it provides authentic cultural homestyle stays.

We are pleased to offer a range of rooms with different names that cater to all your requirements, from double and single rooms to queen-size and family rooms, each adorned with its unique style and character.
Room - Aloes is a room which has 2 compartments and has 3 single singles which can accommodate 3 people per night. It has a private shower/toilet. Tv, Fridge, Kettle, Tea, coffee, Sugar, couches, cutlery, and crockery. Clean bedding and towels, mist Fan. This is inside the house but with a private entrance on the veranda.
Room - Halfmens is a room outside the house also with a separate entrance. It has a queen size bed, Mist Fan, Fridge, TV, an ensuite shower/toilet, Kettle, Tea, Coffee, Sugar, cutlery and crockery, clean bedding, towels, etc. It is suitable for only 2 people.
Room - Kokerboom is also a room outside the house with a separate entrance. It has a double bed, fan, Fridge, TV, ensuite shower/toilet, cutlery and crockery, Kettle, coffee, tea, sugar, clean bedding and towels, etc. It is suitable for 2 people.
Room - Botterboom is a room outside the house with a private entrance. It has a double bed and a double bunk with an ensuite shower/toilet. The room is big. It has a fridge, Kettle, tea, sugar, coffee, cutlery, crockery and clean fresh bedding and towels, blankets in the room. There is a TV, Fan, etc. 4 people can sleep (family or group).
Room - Kraalbos is a room inside the house that connects with the lounge, communal Kitchen, and other rooms. This room has a double bed inside, and a TV. 2 people can sleep in the room. Clean bedding and towels. It connects also with the veranda. The communal kitchen has a stove, microwave, cutlery, crockery, kettle, tea coffee, and sugar. This room also shares a bathroom which has a bath, shower and toilet.
Room - Daisy is next to Kraalbos. It has a 3/4 bed which can sleep only 1 person. It is also connected with the lounge, and communal kitchen and shares the bathroom with room-Kraalbos.
All rooms are connected with Wi-Fi except the Room Botterboom which is a bit far because of the thickness of the walls.
The parking area is in front of the House inside the yard. There is no parking in front of the rooms. There is a braai area and a big space for sitting and relaxing. We also have a dining room where we can serve breakfast and dinner. It can also be used for conference meetings. It has a TV for online meetings, a Writing board, a Projector, and a projector screen. It can accommodate up to 16 people in the room.
We are still improving our property to accommodate all our guests with different needs.
Our property is designed to provide the utmost comfort to our guests in all seasons. The sand and stone construction of our rooms ensures a cool ambiance during summer and warmth during winter, guaranteeing a restful night's sleep. Our rooms are named after all the succulent plants in our area.

At Hollywood, we prioritize the safety and security of our guests. We provide ample secure parking on the premises that is monitored round the clock. Our location in proximity to the police station and high school further adds an extra layer of protection.

Our property has been an integral part of the community for generations, and we take immense pride in continuing the tradition of hospitality.

Our host, Letitia, epitomizes the welcoming nature of our town. She is a gracious and amiable tour guide, always eager to showcase the town's treasures and nearby attractions. Whether you're an intrepid explorer or seeking a tranquil retreat, we offer tours that cater to all tastes, from rare succulent plants to natural minerals in the area and the historic "kinderlê graves."

Each guest who booked at Hollywood Lodge has a door key that they will receive on arrival to enter their rooms and access the communal lounge and kitchen. Unfortunately, we open and close the entrance gate ourselves at night to monitor.

We stay on the premises to monitor and for security reasons to give assistance where needed. Our number is visible on our page for communication, and we gave it to the guest as well. Our guests are our number one priority to make sure they have a good stay. We are also visible on the premises and open for communication.

Hollywood Lodge is situated just behind the police station in the lower town area.

Our area is a quiet safe area. Parking is on the premises and is safe. If you arrive with vehicle fully loaded, we do security guarding during the night to make you feel extra safe

Breakfast is not included in the rates, but we do offer breakfast, lunch, or dinner. on request. If you would like to have meals during your stay, please inform us in advance, and we will gladly prepare them for you at extra cost. We are happy to accommodate any dietary preferences or allergies you may have. We are Halal-friendly.

One unique experience we offer is homemade bread baked in our traditional oven outside. We charge a reasonable fee for this experience, and we highly recommend it as a must-try during your stay. We also offer traditional massages for those who wish to experience the old way. If you are interested in either of these experiences, please let us know, and we will make arrangements for you.

When making a booking, please specify how many rooms and how many beds to guarantee a comfortable stay. Note that the rate starts from R350 a night for 1 person. and then after R200 per person per night room sharing.
