If you have never visited Maldives this place is a must and at least once in a lifetime experience. It's a very beautiful and relaxing place, you can just forget all the rush and stress of the western world and walk on those white sands and beaches. This time it was our second time on this island and we took the superior beach bungalow room which I think has very good value to the price ratio. Our room boy (Achinda) was very professional and kept our room fit and also made sure that our stay was very comfortable. He also surprised us by his room decoration with flowers and towel shaped like a peacock.( I will attach a photo of the room) If you ever visit this place I would also recommend having a visit to the spa, it's very unique experience.

We travelled as a group of 10. On Sun Island we had 3 nights in the beach bungalows and then 4 nights over the water. The rooms were great, furnishings all in good condition, fans and A/C. Private outdoor showers in the beach bungalow was a treat but the real winner was moving into the over water bungalows. Stairs down to an aqua ocean full of marine life so that fish, rays and small black tipped reef sharks are literally at your doorstep. Amazing! Our rooms were always clean and no requests went unattended. On our last night we received an amazing farewell message with flowers on the big 4 poster bed. Excellent service. We bought the full board and drinks package and whilst there were other restaurants on the island we did not miss a thing in having this package. Lots of sports are included like table tennis, badminton, tennis and mini golf. Excursions include snorkeling, kayaks and paddle boards, these are extra cost though. All in all it was fantastic holiday made largely due to this tremendous place.

The Resort is Amazing and offers a great quality for price. There are many beautiful beaches, flowers and trees and a number of restaurants and bars to choose from. The Sun Villas are great and the Superior Beach bungalows as well. We have stayed for 9 nights on full board and the main buffet restaurant is excellent with good variety of foods. We have tried their Fish BBQ ( at an additional price ) and their Italian restaurant and the quality of the food and entertainment was excellent. I don’t understand why some other guests are complaining about the prices, it is certainly less expensive than a dinner in London! The pool area is great with comfy sun beds , large pool and daily Yoga and Zumba by the pool with Vera to keep fit ! The Island is kept very clean and there is a number of operatives who clean the beach and communal areas every day at all times. I have stayed last year at their sister hotel Holliday Island Resort however I think Sun Island is better because it offers better beaches and variety of amenities. Lastly not to miss the Araamu Spa , we had three treatments and they were excellent. Staff are very polite and welcoming at all times with the exception of the lobby reception staff members. I will certainly return later this year. Michail

What a place beautiful beaches great snorkeling great food and really nice staff. We stayed in the standard beach bungalow allowing you to walk out the door and be in clear warm waters of the lagoon in 30 seconds. Fab sea life all around the island and lots of reefs and beautiful fish to see. We would have stayed another week the restaurant had everything our waiter Bodie was always very attractive and always took great care with all the guests he served. Would boog again in a heartbeat

We spent two weeks at Sun Island, we had a water villa. Enjoyed our time, the weather overall was nice, however there were a few rainy days. Even though it rained, we still managed to get a few hours in at the beach. The service was mainly great, there were a few mishaps though. Our personal waiter Alam was excellent, always a great service. He learned our drinking habits, which meant there were always drinks ready at the table when we went for lunch/dinner etc. Also our room boy Raj was excellent, big thanks to both! At the bars the service was a bit different, feels a bit weird not to get any service in 15min+ when there are a lot of free waiters, and barely any other visitors.

Just beautiful What an amazing place food and staff was amazing the island was very clean and tidy staff was very helpful and friendly only down side was the travelling but well worth it in the end ..

My husband and I spent 6 nights at Sun Island resort and we were in love with the place by the time we left. Everyone was so lovely and friendly. The weather was unpredictable, sunny days and overcast days with rain on and off throughout our trip but it didn’t spoil the trip in any way. We loved the shark and sting ray feeding, the food was amazing and everywhere was so clean! We enjoyed our catamaran snorkelling trip with an instructor too. We stayed in a superior beach bungalow (306) which was a super spot. The only negative I would say is that maybe the rooms could do with some Modernising or an attempt to make them a little more luxurious as this is what the Maldives is known for. We went to the spa three times which was bliss! All in all, an amazing trip and we hope to return in a few years with our children. Thank you everyone at Sun Island for making it such a memorable holiday.

We arrived 2 days ago with an all inclusive deal only to find that only 1 restaurant and 3 bars arr included and even then only certain beverages are included. Once we got our heads round it we have made it work for us but feel it is a shame that 4 other restaurants and the lovely bar by the pitch and putt does not have some inclusion in the deal. We have paid for a hot beverage at the golf bar this evening and the member of staff there was really lovely as are all the staff, it seems a shame that they are there for hours with no customers. We would have loved to have eaten at the restaurant in the banana plantation and the seafood BBQ grill but the charges for the meals are high to be added onto our holiday. Its not really all inclusive. Other all inclusive resorts I have been to have added a small surcharge to special restaurants so everyone eats at them but only pay a relatively small amount extra which is acceptable. It would not put me off returning, the staff, food, amenities, entertainment and accomodatiom are all brilliant. There is plenty to do including bike hire ,mini golf,1 hour free daily canoeing and our water bungalow is sensational being able to go straight into the sea with our own decking area.

3 years ago we had some issues with the services. The island itself was so beautiful so we decided we come back again. During this time a lot of thing changed. Free wifi in rooms, free water in rooms and main dishes and they improved the organization of the transfers as well. Despite our flight delayed 4 hours they re-organized the domestic flight with no problem! Well done Sun Island!

Water bungalows were lovely, island and resort very clean and staff in every area excellent . Especially Allem in the water bungalow restaurant - who is amazing All inclusive drinks were basic, entertainment was average , not enough loungers/umbrellas round pool and none at all at the beach bar All extras very expensive and don’t do the village tours - very dear and not one thing about it worth looking at All in all Barbados and Mexico much better and cheaper
