Merrill's Mariner is a classic Nags Head style beach house that has been beautifully updated and modernized without sacrificing any of its old-school beach cottage charm. Tons of indoor and outdoor living space and enough bedrooms (6) for your extended family or a large group of friends. For larger extended family gatherings, Merrill's Mariner is right next door to Grandma's Cottage and Papa's Place, both of which are also in the CVR program. All just steps from the Atlantic Ocean in the heart of Nags Head! Cook at home in the gorgeous and well-equipped kitchen or walk to one of several excellent restaurants nearby. For your privacy and convenience, the hot tub is just off the main living space on the screened-in section of the expansive wraparound porch. Walking distance to the Nags Head Fishing Pier and Dowdy Park/ the seasonal Dowdy Park Farmer's Market and a short drive to many local attractions like Nags Head Woods Nature Preserve, Jockey's Ridge State Park and the Wright Brother's National Monument.

It is an older home, but it is very nice. The dune was a bit challenging, but it is oceanfront with very nice views from the upper deck. The screened side porch was well used and enjoyed by everyone in the family. The living room furnishings were not comfortable, but we did not spend a lot of time indoors. The one bedroom did have 2 twin mattresses shoved together but it was not a big deal since it was occupied by one of the children. Overall it was as advertised!

December Vacation

Location was great, beds were comfy, but rugs were so gross that we had up roll them up. Couches were nasty too. A new couch and a few new rugs would do wonders for this listing. Also, most VRBOs provide linens, basic kitchen items and toiletries. This had nothing. Pictures on website are outdated.

Great location. Well stocked kitchen. Easily seat 12 for a meal. Nice wrap around porch w/hot tub and plenty seating. Easy beach access. ALSO pic on website is OLD. Much more aged/devoid of color. Address is 3207B, not 3207. Small house in front is 3207. House name appears no where on house or street. Confusing. Misaligned shower door that didn't close. Mat stayed wet. The only tub had a crack. Only accessible outlet in master is below center point of mattress, warped floor boards. All window tracks need grease. Light switch & outlet in small master bath is next to the shower not the sink. We had to replace the rusted grill rack. You are limited with dog friendly options but I expected more.
