We have stayed in Nagaoka a few times. This hotel is the best. The staff are extremely kind and accommodating. The breakfast buffet is probably the best in all of Niigata prefecture. The rooms are renovated leaving us with the best large and highest pressure shower I've ever had.

Perfect to stay in Nagaoka

I can tell this place has been a popular place for a long time. There is some old style decoration like desk, TV, etc. but this works perfectly fine. The place is super clean! The location is also the best! It is close to everything. The bus station is right in front of the hotel. Convenient store is everywhere.

高いだけのことはないかな

駅前で場所はいいです。 ホテルブランドからちょっと期待しましたが、割高で古いビジネスホテルです。 設備は古いですが、特に問題はありませんでした。もちろんシャワートイレです。WiFi有りますが１晩に何度かインターネットに繋がらなくなり直ぐに復旧しませんでした。 他のホテルがとれるならここを選択しないですね。

We arrived in Nagaoka early in the morning with a lot of luggage, and our check-in was later in the day. We were able to store our luggage until check-in time which was super convenient! In addition the hotel is right next to the station making the trip super easy. Our room had a nice view of the city and looked amazing since it was Fall. The room had a large bed and provided all the basic amenities and even more. I would definitely stay here again.

Good location, dated hotel

We stayed one night on our way to Niigata. The hotel is located right next to Nagaoka station, so very convenient. Check in is smooth and hotel staff is good. However hotel is really dated. Breakfast in general is good.

New Otani

The new Otani Hotel is one of my favorite places to stay in Japan. The service is always great. The hotel is well maintained. The breakfast in the Azalea restaurant is wonderful. Beds are like home. Close walking distance to train. Highly recommend.

Very good value, but please work on your English

The room was fantastic and spacious. The staff are clearly, however, undrtrained and unexperienced with international guests. But from what I saw in the lobby, an overwhelming percentage of guests are indeed international. The front desk clerk clearly could not communicate in Englsh AT ALL, and he was the "designated" English speaker. Mistake after mistake with regards to claims and services had me confused completely and misled. I recommend this hotel for Japanese speakers ONLY.
