Houseboat!

We really enjoyed the novelty of staying on a houseboat. There is a restaurant and swim area in the marina which we took advantage of. There is also a convenience store, but it wasn't open when we were there. The nearby town of Naarden is adorable. The houseboat is new and in great condition. It is exactly as see in the photos. It is like an Air BnB in that we were given a lockbox code, so never met the owners. There were also instructions on how to clean the place before we left - strip the sheets, do dishes, leave toilet clean, sweep. We could not find a broom which was a shame as there were a lot of spiders/spiderwebs outside. Didn't look like it had been stayed in for a while. It was very hot in the area when we stayed there, so more than one fan would have been appreciated. But overall, enjoyed our stay.

Tolle Lage, sehr nette andere Gäste. Leider einige Handtücher, Bettwäschen und Wände nicht sauber. Nur die Lüftung des Hausboots war etwas laut zum schlafen. Sonst sehr nette Unterkunft in einem ruhigen schönen Hafen.

Het dek is niet gemakkelijk bereikbaar; de kade sluit niet aan op het dek van de boot, dat ligt 1 meter lager. Er is op sommige boten (niet de onze) een los keukentrapje aanwezig om dit verschil te overbruggen. De overstap van wal naar het dek van boot is hierdoor een hachelijke onderneming. Verder troffen wij een vies en niet werkend electrisch kooktoestelletje aan. De stopcontacten bij het aanrecht werkten niet, hierdoor moest het koffiezetapparaat op de grond in de zithoek staan. Het raam in de slaapkamer kon niet open.

Great place to stay

Great experience, however keep in mind that the house is really floating, so it's constantly moving. One of my sons had some seasickness during nights. The surroundings are awesome, a bike ride to the town (Naarden) is highly recommended - by the way, they gently borrowed the bikes for free for a few hours.
