“Wonderful peaceful hotel with a great view to the snow, the rooms are spacious and the bed is very comfortable... The quality and the grade of the food in the restaurants was just delightful and the staff were very helpful.”
This is mostly regraded as a winter ski resort but it is so much more than that at other times of the year. Yes of course it buzzes with excitement and fun in the winter time but in the summer time also it is a beautiful and peaceful place to be. All the staff are attentive and pay attention to details. The rooms are spacious and often with incredible views. The breakfast buffet as well as the restaurants serve great food and during the summer a tented restaurant opens which is a rare treat. The lamb chops are definitely recommended here. My children love the swimming pool and the garden outside. We have ben visiting this great hotel for over 10 years now and will continue to do so both summer and winter.
Great place to disconnect from the hussle and bussle of the busy daily life. Internationally high quality and standards in service. Great facilities and amenities. Great food and mood. Direct access to ski slopes in winter, and to tons of outdoors activities in summer.
When trying to have a stay in Intercontinental Mzaar, don't expect: 1. Friendly staff 2. A smooth and standard reservation like anywhere in the world 3. Room on time 4. A five stars hotel rooms And the list can go on and on. One TIP for you, substantials TIPS here and here are essential ...
I had guest ,and i called to the hotel to invite them on a breakfast at mzar, the operator informed me that the buffet will be closed at 11 but i can get breakfast a la carte. When i reached the hotel at 11 the receptionist informed me that i can take breakfast a la carte at the 2nd floor. In the restaurant a waiter told me that we can sit outdoor or indoor, after 15 mn waiting to get a menu. A chef de rang came and informed me that they closed and cant serv breakfast becoz its an operation location and we can have our breakfast in the lobby restaurant or on the pool bar. We went to the pool bar .the manger their informed me that they open at 12 Back to the reception
Worst hotel experience ever. The bed is very uncomfortable , the staff is rude. We woke up at 11:15am (given we're on vacation and shouldn't be worried about setting the alarm!!!) and they refused to serve us breakfast. We accepted to order breakfast "a la carte" (even though our package included breakfast). After waiting 15 min at the restaurant the waiter comes back to tell us the kitchen is closed for breakfast and they can only serve it a room-service. I didn't understand the logic but I accepted anyways since we were starving by that time. We ordered a waffle and a manoushe to the room, to be surprised to only receive the waffle because they "are out of zaatar"!!! More so, we paid for an upgrade for a room with a view. The picture speaks for itself regarding the view we got!!! This is not to mention it's also extremely overpriced.
We went on a family ski trip ans booked at intercon given that it is supposed to be a 5* hotel. This was not the case. Driving in and out of the hotel was a nightmare. The valet parking service was terrible and the road at the entrance of the hotel was always jammed and no one was organising the flow of traffic to and from the hotel. The rooms were ok. The food at the restaurant was good; however, the service was not up to par and one could hear plates breaking here and there. On one of the eves, the waiter, when opening the bottle of wine, spilled some on all of us and instead of apologising mentioned that red wine doesn't stain. On the positive side, the hotel has: 1) a ski rental shop which is convenient as we rented it out when we arrived and returned it on our last day. 2) a shop that sells ski wear and gear. 3) a shop that sells some candy 4) a small playarea for kids which could occupy them for half an hour or so. 5) a small cinema Also, on one of the days, some food stands were installed at the restaurant's deck outside (crepe, popcorn, etc.) which was nice for the kids. Another positive is the sledding activity on the refuge which the kids enjoyed a lot.
We waited 15 min for our car to come and paid 10.000 ll (the most expensive valet in Lebanon) and they didn't even say sorry. But the worst part is that we were the only people leaving the hotel so they don't even have the excuse of "it's too crowded,we're so overwhelmed". It was only us!
I wanted to spend a weekend with my wife and the reason i selected Mzar Intercontinental hotel is because i am a gold member in the IHG group and it was supposed that somehow i will get a special treatment from this group. Once we arrived on Saturday morning, we were surprised with the valet parking who was insisting to take our car or else we had to park outside on the road. I shared this with the front desk manager and he said that this is true and even if i am a resident in the hotel, i cannot park alone. For me to cut the story short and ignore having problems with those people, i parked my car by myself outside on the road and checked in. The front desk manager wanted to welcome us since he noticed that i was upset, he upgraded our reservation and once we reached our room, it turned out to be the same room which i reserved. We went for dinner in the area in our car and when we came back, the same front desk manager was outside and i told him you need to find me a solution for the parking, he said no problem, the valet guy will go with u in the car to park down so i was happy about this but it turned out that the valet guy asked me for $14 parking. i went to the reception and had a big fight with the guy and he started apologizing and that they will not charge me the parking, nevertheless, i went down and removed my car and parked it outside on the road in a very risky place knowing that i reserved in a 5 stars hotel to go and relax. adding to this, the room carpets were so dirty, one of the water bottles was opened and used, no dental kits in the room...etc. I believe that i will not step in this hotel again and i don't recommend it at all.
We went there in February 2017 with our two kids ( 3years and 5 years old) along with three other families , it was our first visit and our first ski experience. The hotel is really beautiful and has everything needed for kids ( kids club, bowling , arcades, cinema , in door pool , baby sitting service ) the only thing missing for us as shisha smokers was a spacious covered terrace with a nice view , what the hotel has is a very small and packed room for shisha with no view. One more thing , I believe the hotel website needs to be updated as it does not reflect the full image of what the hotel really has , it needs to be more detailed and impressive as we were really positively surprised with what we saw at the hotels compared to what the website offers. One of the important things that needs to be highlighted on the website especially for people with first time ski experience is that the hotel has a shop that rents everything needed for ski , had we known that we would have reduced our luggage by half . Over all the hotel is amazing and we will for sure love to visit again . Rawan
