Unfortunately, this year was extremely disappointing compared to the last year visit to this hotel. It was end of skiing season & hotel was not crowded. Despite this the room which we were looking for was not offered. With some effort & being a member of IHG, fortunately it was changed to a better one (you shouldn’t go through this from the beginning). The worst thing is that they treat certain people differently. For instance, smoking is prohibited in the restaurant but allowed for special ones 😳. Many other examples but no need to mention it all. Last thing is breakfast which was not clarified in my reservation as it is a defect in their reservation system hence I have to be charged much extra for this. I regret to say it will be my last stay this hotel. One of the worst experiences I have ever had.
Today the Diamony fashion show took place at this hotel (Fashion on ice). As the weather was wonderful I invited my family (a group of 4 adults with a kid, 2 years old) for lunch. Reservation was made in advance, I was informed that the terrace is fully booked but a table will be available inside the restaurant. On arrival after using the valet service of the hotel we were directed to an elevator taking us up to the terrace. There was a barrier which was half open for people to pass through to reach the restaurant. When we tried to pass suddenly a gentleman in a suit appeared and started shouting at us to go back to the elevator and use the corridor downstairs to enter the hotel through another elevator. Asking about this guy I was informed that this is the new GM from Holland. One of the security guards was kind enough to show us the right way. Finally arriving at the restaurant I was told that the first rows of tables inside the restaurant were reserved. We sat down and asked for the menu. Reply was that only a set menu (salad, steak with chicken and a desert) is available at the price of 45 USD incl. house drinks. No vegetarian dish available, no 'a la carte' choice, only choices for kids. We got half an iceberg salad with a kind of Cesar's dressing as a starter. Main dish looked nice (please see attached picture), but arrived cold and meat was uneatable. We saw that other tables were served different meals. I asked for the manager who apologized but informed me that this is for "special guests". In the meantime the fashion show had started outside. Still the tables in front of our table remained empty (please see attached picture). Despite many requests to change to a better table with better view nothing was changed. Last surprise was that the VAT was not added to the 45 USD which means we paid 50 USD per person for a lousy lunch. - Just to add, there is not 1 place in the whole 5 star resort where one can change the diapers of a baby.
Stayed with the family for a skiing trip . You can ski right to the hotel from the slopes . The slope to the hotel is a blue level . Beginners is less than 5 min car ride . The hotel has more than one ski shop for rentals etc
We booked directly through hotel and prepaid 9 days in advance to discover a few days later much cheaper rates at booking.com . When I complained they said the difference was in breakfast which since we checked in discovered that breakfast was not enough to cover 5he huge difference in price. I was upgraded due to my platinum status however when Iwe checked in , the upgraded room was give to us only around 5 pm even though when we checked around 1 pm we were given 1 room and told the upgrade will be ready ASAP. As we kept checking it dragged till 4:45 The staff at reception kept on giving silly excuses and disappearing after telling me sit down and they will let me know in 10 minutes. I asked for the manager they only called him by phone . I was connected to his assistant. I requested to talk the manager and she said he was in a meeting. I requested that he talks to me . That was on Monday , today is Wednesday and even though I checked again about him on Tuesday he still has not bothered to call back. This is extremely arrogant management and does not reflect the effort the staff try to make. The attitude of the management spoilt the first day of our 3 day vacation and they really do not care.
Its my best hotel in faraya mzar, amazing... very good service, i like the breakfast, the view is amazing,, activites for childrens.. the rooms its clean and so luxuary.. i hope to visit it again.. i love this place sooo much
First the place of hotel is really amazing but really the staff is arrogant and unhelpful also they are very late in service and are all masked face with even no smile . I stay for 3 days really didn’t found a reason to return back to this place . Hope the management can solve this stupid issue.
The staff at the hotel are very unhelpful, especially the front desk employee Elie who was outright rude to us while checking in. The pool guy locked me in while he was closing the pool at night. Generally incompetent staff, you'd get a better value for your money if you rent a car for the day to go to the mountains but spend the night in Beirut.
The location is perfect but the service is so bad. We were not guests at the hotel but we wanted to have a late lunch in the restaurant lobby. When we asked for WI-FI, the answer was that we have to pay!!. The waiter did not even ask if we would like to order anything. So we left. The second morning, went for breakfast at the terrace with a friend. the slopes are open as of 8.00am and the terrace was already busy. At 8.30am, they had not set up yet the tables for breakfast, you can sit but they will not take your order. They move your bag and phone and set the table over your belongings. they served coffee at 9.00am and the pita bread with cheese was served at 9.30 very cold with the cheese not even melting. when talking to the waiter, he was the most impolite i had met in all my travels. The music system needs to be upgraded as it is dating from the 80s
Last few weeks i've stayed for 3 night at intercontinental mzaar hotel wich was an amazing week end well spent .. amazing rooms very good staff service ..especially a waiter named 'Elie' at the lobby bar (wears glasses) has been perfect during his service.. excellent wine presentation .. will visit again and again
The Hotel itself has a perfect location with direct access to the ski slopes, everything you would need is right there at the hotel, ski rental equipment, hair salon, gym, pool, several outlets etc. the outdoor cafe over looking the slopes is amazing, the bar at the lobby is nice as well with very nice vibes and a fire place; khalil salameh at the lobby bar was probably the only employee that stood out and was very helpful, informative and extremely professional; other than that the service provided does not suit ihg nor a 5* hotel we were entertained by a nice fight among waiters in the lobby for instance; breakfast was of very good variety. reservations team were very helpful upon booking and the rooms are spacious and comfortable eventhough service was not up to the expected standards and you dont see anyone taking an extra mile however i would still book there again hoping it would be a better experience in future
