The hotel is located in the mountains with great surroundings & sceneries. Check-in was smooth & staff very helpful -special mention to Dory at the reception who was super professional & kind. The bedrooms are spacious, nicely decorated & well equipped with all the needed toiletries. Beds & pillows very comfortable & the premises very clean. The doors were a bit noisy but overall you can get a good night sleep. Soundproofing was acceptable. Buffet breakfast is not impressive & can be more organized in terms of display. However, the main issue for us non- smokers was the shisha in the hotel. The lobby is not smoke-free. It is true that the bar area is at the edge but it is still the same space. For the shisha, we can understand its presence in the Arabic restaurant under the tent yet not on the pool between the loungers & the kids nor in the lobby at midnight! Instead of enjoying the natural pure breeze & lounging next to the pool, we were smelling constantly the shisha smoke from our neighbors. Aside this issue, we would like to thank all the staff who was really helpful & efficient; We really liked as well the hotel grounds which are very well maintained- gardens are just beautiful.
I always visit intercontinental mzaar with my family and we typically enjoy our time there. Tonight i took my kids to play bowling there, a non experienced staff member stopped their game before it ends and erased the scores!.... after a long wait, he couldn’t arrange it, but the worst part is that he was very impolite with us! When escalated to the hotel manager, and asked for at least an apology or refund, the only answer was to come back tomorrow to finish the game!..... with not even an apology on behalf of the staff member!!! This is a 5 stars standard!!!! Not acceptable at all!!!!...
One of the best resorts in Lebanon! I really like it during the ski season but it's also very pleasant during the summer. In winter, it's the only hotel with ski in ski out access, so you start your day skiing, take a lunch break at the terrace, then go back to the hotel where you can have a good massage, access the pool with a panoramic view surrounded by snow then have a tasty dinner before you go to bed and start over the following day :) In summer, you can run away from the hot summer of the city and enjoy the fresh weather with all the facilities of the hotel. Staff is very friendly but some of them might need more training for their technical skills even the most basic ones!
I visited Intercontinental Mzaar in early April, the snow was still covering the region. We got an amazing view from our room. The heating system was working perfectly. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the check-in/ check-out process went smoothly. We tried also the Spa there and it was also a great experience, I definitely recommend to try the aqua massage. the location is suitable for skiers during winter season. The one thing I did not like about this hotel is the parking area, I wasn't allowed to park my car I had to use the valet parking service.
Definitely not 5 stars. An Ad kept popping up on my facebook page about a very special offer made by Intercontinental Mzar for the month of April 2019. The offer was catchy. One night including Fondue Dinner for a fair price. I called, booked, and asked the operator if we can book a one-hour massage session on the phone, and his confident answer was no, you can book once you're here. My wife and I were really looking forward for this getaway after long weeks of work. Our main plan was to chill at the pool, have a one-hour massage session each, and enjoy the food. Once we arrived, we waited for at least 5 minutes at the reception for someone to show up... He said your room will be ready soon. Check-in was supposed to be at 3:00 PM (50 minutes before our arrival). We said it's okay, we're going to the SPA reception to make our booking... SPA is on the -3 Floor. Once we got there, we could not find any signs that lead us to the entrance. Once we discovered the door, a very newly-refurbished reception was there, with no one at the counter. We did a small tour trying to find someone to talk to. After around 10 minutes of playing hide-and-seek, we discovered that the receptionist was probably taking a nap in the reception's back office. Anyway, he told us that they're fully booked for the day and and that they can only try to give us a 30-minute session each the next day (for almost the same price of a 60-minute session each, which is not logical at all). I mentioned that when i previously booked on the phone, the operator said that there's no need to make a phone reservation. The answer was: We are a different entity. We are not related to the hotel, and there's nothing we can do. We went back up to the reception, and Elie, the receptionist, tried his best to fix the situation. Unfortunately, he couldn't do anything. To make it up, Elie upgraded us for a mini-suite instead of our standard room. The suite was luxurious, clean, and had a nice view. However, the air conditioner was not working, the heater was not completely turning off, and for that reason we had to sleep with the balcony door open. We woke up at 8:00 AM to the sound of two maintenance workers shouting and tearing down the roof of the building right below our balcony! Of course, we couldn't close the door due to the high temperature inside the room and couldn't turn on the air conditioner because it was not working. So, we had no other option but to wake up, go down to have breakfast, and check out forever from Intercontinental Mzar. Briefly: - Food is great, and the restaurant staff are friendly. - Rooms are spacious and new. - The bed is comfy. - They have staff shortage at the reception and probably the cleaning team (very late check-ins). - Booking operators lack experience. If you're looking for a luxurious 5-star hotel experience, Intercontinental Mzar is not the place. Rating: 2.5/5
It was my pleasure to stay again in this great resort, however it was a story day and very strange in April, but we enjoyed a lot, snow everywhere and the lobby decoration let you feel you are staying in your home. we have been upgraded and it was a very nice from them, very helpful staff, amazing breakfast and clean rooms. The rooms needs a way to control the hot weather as we were opening the balcony to have a good weather, the Tv channels needs to be more clear, and the telephony system is old, other than this every thing is excellent. Kids area is available, Cinema, shops, bowling center and spa all you can have inside the resort.
It's my first time to this amazing resort , and it happened that the weather was stormy. However , thx to the pool and arcades and great restaurants, we could barely notice. It's an excellent place and an affordable one as well .
This is an amazing hotel with amazing view from the suite balcony, amazing heated pool and AMAZING Staff. Full recognition of my platinum membership with free upgrade to the most beautiful suite on the third floor and a welcome fruit basket. Beautiful decoration of the room with flowers all around upon arrival. The Fondue Dinner was delicious with a bottle of wine included. The staff is more than amazing & the location is great with amazing view of Lebanon Mountain dressed in white. Breakfast is one of the most generous i have ever seen. Perfection all around & a BIG THANK YOU to Mr. Joost Komen The General MANAGER and Mr. Jacques Dib the Reservation agent who made our stay a WONDERFUL one !!! Can't wait to return to this Magical Place.
The location is great and one of the most luxurious hotels in Lebanon is well organized and clean.Staff also respond quickly to requests, especially thanks to Mr. Jack for his wonderful treatment. It was an amazing vacation.
This hotel is a bad experience from the moment you enter. Whether it’s the cold lobby atmosphere with poor lighting and decor, or entering from the lower level where the worn-out shopping arcade is. The worst experience is the pool & bowling area... pool area is poorly ventilated, and the humidity is extremely high & spills over to the arcade and bowling rooms to the point where you just can’t remain any longer than an hour max. To top it, our dinner at Refuge was a bad experience specifically with their local wine recommendation, ‘Les Breteches 2016’ from Chateau Kefraya. I advise not to even ask for wine as our first bottle was rejected because it was undrinkable, and the second we just felt shy for some stupid reason to reject again, so we accepted it, and didn’t drink it :/
