Our stay at this property was unfortunately not what we expected. The listing stated we would have access to the entire house, but in reality we were limited to the oldest section of the home, which felt more like renting an apartment rather than a full house. The host also lives in the other half of the property—something that was not made clear in the listing—and was present throughout the stay.On our second night, around 3 AM, the host checked on the furnace without notifying us beforehand. Being startled awake by loud noises in the middle of the night was unsettling, and because we had no idea what was happening, I ended up getting very little sleep for the rest of the night. The rooms themselves could use some updating, and it would be much more comfortable and secure if the bedrooms had functioning locks. I actually put a chair in front of the door to feel safer, which shouldn’t be necessary in a rental. The silver lining is that the host was very warm and welcoming in person. However, I strongly recommend that they revise and clarify the listing to avoid confusion for future guests who expect a private full-house stay.
