This was a true let down of a vacation experience. Let me start by saying there were 3 adults and one 4yr old and one infant (6m). When we arrived all 3 of the adults could smell the cigarette smoke. One adult said it was like walking into her smoker aunts house. I immediately called the desk and was told they would call me back. Instead a man showed up at the door with a can of smoke odor spray. He claimed he couldn’t smell it but they couldn’t move us because they were fully booked (understandable). I asked if there could be any compensation as we were going to have to figure something out since I’m allergic to smoke and I also have an 6m yr old and a 4yr old. They said they would look into it. And brought us a mini air purifier. We sprayed the smoke odor ban and realized that it was the other smell we smelt other than the smoke. So they knew it was an issue and had already sprayed the stuff to cover it. I went downstairs to talk to the front desk the next day and I asked about if there would be any compensation and the lady rudely said, “I don’t know why there would be, he said he couldn’t smell it.” So apparently my semi allergic self was lying about having a sore throat only when I’m the room. Also, the dryer is the most janky set up I’ve ever seen and I’m pretty sure it’s a fire hazard. They have the return feed going into some reservoir contraption and they require to open the front door and the back slider to vent the humidity& the floors STILL get wet from humidity.
