Everything was fantastic! I was here a few years ago and liked the hotel already then but now, after renovation it is a truly great place to stay and enjoy comfort in munich! very friendly and funny staff!!!
This is your typical Marriott hotel. It deserves its four stars and was a pleasure to stay in. It’s comfort, married with its location make it an excellent place to stay. I also recommend the breakfast as it was a very good selection for a hotel in Munich.
I stayed for One Night and i slept very well. The Hotel is within walking distance to The munich East Train Station. Unfortunately The TV was Broken As i Could Not Switch The channels. The Room was nicely furnished, The bathroom was okay But there was mold in The Shower.
Honestly I wasn't sure that I would be happy staying for 5 nights outside the center of the city but this location was terrific. First, it is just off a direct train line between the city and the airport. I got on at the airport and off at Munich Ost station with no transfer needed. The hotel is just down the street -- maybe a 5 minute walk. Exit the station, turn right and it is straight ahead on the left. It is joined with a Residence Inn so choose the amount of room you need. Each day I would walk to the train station to catch a a train into town. It was 3 stops from the Marienplatz and 5 from the main train station. There is also a tram stop about 100 yards away that will drop you off in front of the Bavarian Museum among others. The rooms were good sized and well appointed. The beds were a little firm but that is just a personal preference. Good lighting and just enough power outlets. The rooms were fairly quiet but be aware that the street at the front of the hotel is busy 24/7. If sound bothers you ask for a room at the back which overlooks a grassy courtyard of an adjoining apartment building. The bathrooms was average sized with the typical selection of toiletries. They seemed to ration towels and sometimes there was no washcloth but a quick call to the front desk was all it took to get more delivered. Very clean. A word about the location. It is between a local neighborhood and the train station. It is not a particularly pretty neighborhood but there is a nice selection of restaurants and services nearby. The area is very safe and the convenience of having the station so near was wonderful. The breakfast buffet is served in an area shared with the Residence Inn. Great selection of hot and cold foods. The bar area stays busy most evenings and serves a nice selection of food. The hotel stays busy with airline crews and that caused a line to check-out each morning. Staff was proficient but not overall friendly. If I return to Munich I would stay here again.
I would advise staying at this hotel if you are a business traveler but if you are a tourist you would probably be happier downtown or in Schwabing. This is a fairly standard but well maintained version of the Courtyard franchise. Everything is pretty much as you would expect regardless of the city or the country you happen to be in. Good service, everything was clean and the breakfast was quite good. However, the breakfast is pretty expensive.
I have stayed at this hotel 4 or 5 times and continue to come back because I find that th price/quality ratio to be excellent for my weekend sojourns. It is a business hotel outside of the downtown area in a mixed business and residential are. The lobby isn’t particular inviting, but well lit, and enormous. The addition of the Christmas tree for the holidays was welcomed. The addition of free wi-fi has been a great improvement. Although the room was on the front side of the hotel, it was far from the elevator and very quiet. It was comfortable with ample space for two people. The bathroom is small but well layed out. The only negative is the lighting in the bathroom; even with a lighted mirror you can’t see your face all enough to apply make-up.
Stayed 3 nights in November for a trade show - so prices were high. Checkin was quick, friendly & efficient. Room was large (by European standards) and very clean. There is a decent breakfast buffet, with two prices (for Continental or Cooked options). The breakfast area was busy, and diners spill out into the bar area. In the evenings, the bar staff were very friendly, and we ate one dinner there - which was perfectly acceptable, if nothing special. One morning I needed to print a document which had been e-mailed to me. They have computers in the lobby, but none of the staff could figure out where to insert my memory stick. So we agreed that I should e-mail the document to the front desk. This took two attempts (the first one did not work because they gave me the wrong email address). On my last night I returned to my room to find the bathroom flooded. it seems the maid had left the tap running. After waiting what seemed a long time for maintenance to sort the problem, I was finally offered a different room - which I gladly accepted. Overall, the stay was OK, but I don't think its particularly good service or value for money.
Great hotel on the east side of Munich. It's not a high end luxury hotel but it's very nicely appointed. Significantly better than other hotels I've stayed at over the years. The hotel has a great breakfast and nice bar/lounge area for a 'night-cap'. Rooms are modern and larger than a typical European hotel room. It's a 5 min walk to the East train station and a 25 minute walk to the center city tourist sights. It's good for business and leisure travel.
A nice pleasant stay option in Munchen East , Decent Beds and neat Bathrooms with hot shower facilities.. Good View across the windows of Homes with Balconies.. Sumptuous Breakfast.. easy access to metro stations to move around Munchen easily.. Smiling, Helpful staff , also has a Starbucks coffee counter in the reception.. Good Stay !!! Sound Sleep !!! Happy Times !!!
We attend an event at the trade show which is also on the east side of the City. The S bahn makes it so easy to travel from the airport to ostbahnof and also to the expo. The walk to the hotel from the train station is about 5-7 minutes. The staff is pleasant and the hotel is very clean. The bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the real king size bed. Even though our room faces the street and on the lower level, it was surprisingly not noisy. It is not far to go Marienplatz and there are good markets, department stores and great restaurants nearby. I will stay there again.
