I was reluctant to book this hotel, based on a rather bad review I had read here where the service was said to be really bad. I was very pleasantly surprised however, to find that this couldn't have been further from our experience in the two weeks we were there last week. I went with my son for a two-night get away and wellness trip and there is nothing I can fault this hotel on. the minute we arrived, we were greeted and helped by the reception staff, who bent over backwards to try and get us a couple of massages sorted out, in spite of the lack of warning. They succeeded and we were able to both have massages - also of excellent quality - the lady was lovely!!! We elected for "halb pension" and the buffet was delicious. worthy of note was a really nice waitress who went out of her way to find us a nice table outside, out of the sun. The barkeep in the bar mixed us some excellent cocktails and was very friendly, solicitous, and chatty. The room was clean and comfortable and I loved the little birds on the wallpaper. This is a lovely, quiet and well run wellness hotel, with beautiful views and warm and friendly staff. I highly recommend it!!!!!
Had a wonderful weekend with friends in much. Very relaxing and welcoming staff at the hotel. Great wellness & good sporting facilities. Lovely bedrooms with very comfortable big beds. Ideal for long walks in a country atmosphere. Cologne city close by and some nice caves and castles to visit too. Enjoyed a lovely Sunday brunch too. Thank you to the team at TWH kranichhoehe
Had booked the new years event with this hotel with my wife and friends. We arrived 14:30 as check-in times was 15:00. We come inside and several guests are waiting around. When we finally get to one of the receptionists, the guy tells us that just my wife and I booked 4 rooms in total? We explained to him for minutes that we didn’t request this, he first wanted to speak to his manager. 10 minutes of waiting and he comes back with the answer that we still had booked 4 rooms. Only after my wife showing the email to him that we did not request this, he gave up and let us just have the one room we actually booked. However, the rooms was not ready yet..? This meant we had an additional 2:30 hours to wait before we would get our keys... the staff claimed that the cleaning had started late but seriously? The women in our group was given a very limited voucher for “Sekt” or orange juice at the bar after an hour of waiting and a lot of asking about when we would get our keys. There wasn’t really any motivation from the hotel staff to make the waiting time “worth it”, so to speak. Finally, when we got our keys, the cleaning wasn’t even done for many of the rooms.. we however found several hairs in our bath, there were stains on the faucet and sink. Another of the couples found drifting marks in their toilet (you know what) and overall it seemed to have been a very fast cleaning job. The AC in the room was not working (disabled), reading previous reviews here it seems to be a recurring thing, looks like they claim they need some permission but I suspect it’s just to save money. Even though a 4 star hotel should feature some sort of minibar, they had ripped out the ones in our rooms. You could see the ventilation hole and outlet as well but no fridge to be seen. The rooms also had some strange bird theme and it seemed like the furniture and decoration was pretty outdated. The breakfast was decent and one of the servers there was the one excellent server. In the bar on the ground floor you could wait half an hour to get service, in the meantime the staff would smalltalk with each other. One of our friends sat in the bar for 35 minutes to get service to order a club sandwich for his fiancee who was coming down later and though the staff must clearly have spotted him there, they did not seem very interested. It looks overall like the staff rather wants to service the elder people than the young. I don’t know what we might have to upset them but it was pretty clear to see. At the new years eve, servers was flokking around the elder people but none of them even turned to me and asked if I would like a drink. I was simply ignored! For all the days, I cannot complain about the dinner, several things to choose from and tasted well. The ice cake on the new years eve was especially good! Overall though, what a disappointment this was. It was clearly not 4 stars worthy, it seems like my reviews resonate a bit with other people’s experiences. I will certainly not come back here and recommend others to find something else.
+ calm area + breakfast buffet and personal - reception lady - hairs in bath during arrival - fruitbasket by checkin - bath didnt flush. When finally fixed, couldnt use the bath anymore. - welness bit dirty and lockers didnt work - temprature.. airco was there but didnt work yet ....
The good; bed was comfortable and breakfast was nice. This hotel is in a remote location bordered by a industrial complex and farmland. In such a place I wouldn't expect to pay to park but was charged 6 Euro per night? And the reply from the front desk was "you can park outside the property for free". There is air conditioning in the rooms but it is not switched on. We were told that they are testing the system. We heard that they have been doing that for several weeks. Find another option if you can because the attitude of the staff is that they just don't care about their guests.
Second time at the property. Again great service and now with a buffet in the restaurant in the evening. A la carte still available however! Outside sauna was perfect now the snow changed the landscape. It does not feel 100 km from Holland
We had a very nice 3 day stay at the Transworld hotel. The hotel is geared for sports. A nice pool, saunas, tennis courts. The interior is neat clean and nice looking. The hotelbar is lively en people from Much seem to visit it when there is live music. Breakfast is stocked well with lots of choices. The view on the valley is expetionally well from some seats. The rooms are clean en comfortabele. Rooms are not soundproof and noise from the hallway can be heard. Bathrooms are nice. Conderdering the cost of our stay a extreme good hotel!
Staying at TWH Kranichholn was a very pleasent and enjoyable stay for us all. Beautiful surroundings for relaxing walks in the valleys. Excellent food and pleasent staff and fabulous Health & Spa facilites. Thank you to the staff in Verde & Brasserie for your great service! Will for sure return this summer, if not before
We (family of 2 adults and 2 children) with friends had a short 2 night-stay at this hotel on 9-11 December, 2016. Bought through a deal on one of the websites, at check-out the bill turned out to be 93 euros (+15 euros booking). This price included an upgrade of 14 euros for both nights. The advantage is a quieter room (204) facing the backyard of the property. Rooms are large and warm, large bathroom with bath tub. Very kind staff behind the reception. The breakfasts were rich and large; very attentive personnel, good coffee. The swimming pool and saunas were fantastic & free for guests. The town of Much is close by with small shops and nice restaurants. Excellent place for vacation with family.
I went in this hotel for workshops reason, and i was happy surprise when arrived. Is true, the hotel are close the industrial area and the traffic street but you don't realize inside because all is perfect, whiteout noise. The staff is very nice, the breakfast is international and also the restaurant is good, not excellent but I'm Italian and I won't well... The room are not new but are clean and all is perfect. Outside the panorama was wonderful, green every where, I went also to running and there are more options. Compliments.
