The host did a fantastic job of initial communication, providing us with timely answers and giving us complete directions. The location was easy to find, and it was indeed a gorgeous location on the lake. It would be a great summer spot! However, inside does require some upkeep. The downstairs TV had a speaker that was hanging by a cord and the remote did not work at all. We were afraid to touch it because it was setup so precariously. The blender that was advertised was literally from the 80s and the base didn't lock so we had to hold it down. The dishwasher was nearly non-functional for anything other than the smallest of plates; the plates provided didn't fit! There were also a few cleanliness items, including some serious dust buildup in the bedrooms on the nightstands, but more importantly was the rodent issue. Understandable that there are mice in the house, it is the woods and it is the winter. But PLEASE check the drawers and under the cupboards. There were mouse droppings in several locations and the oven mitts were being used for a nest somewhere (since they were eaten up). Finally, and arguably the most frustrating, was the fact that the lock / deadbolt to the house didn't work. It would be one thing if the house was in the middle of nowhere and there was no one around us, but we were in a neighborhood. And they didn't fix it, even when shown that it didn't work. My wife felt unsafe. For me, that was a deal-breaker. I would not recommend this place to others.

This is our third stay and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The Lake House on Mount Storm is comfortable and it's super easy - arrival, location, items provided, and checkout. We've enjoyed every stay and will likely be back again soon!

House was beautiful! Very pet friendly for our two dogs. We absolutely loved it, and wished we could have added a day or two. Already talked about visiting again in the future. Owners were very nice, and I would recommend this house to anybody just on the view from the big front window alone!

We had a lovely stay at this perfectly situated cabin! Location was great, proximity to lake was exactly what we were looking for. The deck seems new and was a fantastic spot to relax with coffee in the morning, and the ‘heated’ lake was an amazing bonus! The interior could use a little updating but absolutely not a deal-breaker for us and we would certainly visit again. Beautiful spot, nice owners, thank you for providing a great getaway!

Cute place

The house was cute and clean, perfect for 6 adults. Owners live next door and stopped by while we were outside to make sure we had everything we needed. They had kayaks we could use. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate for our outside plans, it was cold, windy and rainy except for the day we arrived. The kids did get to use the kayaks on the one nice day and they really enjoyed touring the lake. Fire pit was really nice and the property was very pet friendly. You have to drive about 20 minutes to get to hiking trails and state parks but our kids enjoyed hiking in swallow falls and canaan valley and also visited the little towns in the area. We would have loved more time on the lake, but the house was cozy. We spent the week playing cards and board games, family bonding. That's what matters most.

Beautiful views

This is our third year staying here! We absolutely love being right on the water. We hike all day then come back to a relaxing bonfire and beautiful views! Denny and Dorothy are excellent hosts, quick to respond, friendly and available if you need anything.

Great Little Place on the Lake

Perfect for a long weekend

This Lakehouse was perfect for a long, snowy weekend. It was clean, comfortable, had everything we needed, had a beautiful view of the lake. The roads were well plowed despite the tremendous snow. The hosts were helpful and communicative. The Internet was good enough for streaming and having people on their phones. It was very easy to keep the house neat while we were there - there isn’t a bunch of unnecessary clutter. We will definitely be back for another stay.
