The hotel itself is very old but very quaint. It’s also very clean and we had no problems with the hotel itself. The problem is is that there is a bar right next store that is loud and obnoxious until four o’clock in the mornings almost every night. A local told us that it is the bar that has “the party after the party”. Each night the inevitable screaming, yelling, crying, and glass breaking would start about ten o’clock. To add to this, there is a table and chairs, that the patrons of the bar use, outside and directly under the windows in the front of the hotel. Cigarette smoke from the patrons wafts up and into the rooms of the hotel. Because of its location directly next to this bar, we could not recommend staying at the Schwannen!
