Superb service and friendly staff. Its like a second home to me and highly recommended for stay in Alesund. Location is ideal and have a scenic view. Near to shopping area, ferry terminal, bus station

A well-needed upgrade of the rooms and features all the amenities for a Standard Room is now available. The hotel offers everything that Radisson normally does, free wifi, super breakfast etc.Externally, the building blends well into the beautiful surroundings

Excellent hotel. Right in The City Centre. Very comfy bed and good size room. Cheap shuttle bus to/from The airport. Fast wifi. Friendly Staff and extra detail like wine glasses and wine opener in The room.

Great hotel, good meals, looked after me well (and nice reception /dining area, with beautiful views of the sea), Alesund is a lovely place to visit -although there on business so not so much time to look around. When I fell ill, they sorted me out hot drinks and water, made a special effort with meals.

My partner and I spent a night in Ålesund in late August. The town has a magnficent location surrounded by fjords and mountains, and the Art Noveau architecture is amazing. Radisson Blu in Ålesund has a good location, all major attractions are reachable on foot. The hotel itself is decent: Clean spacious rooms, nice reception area and helpful and friendly staff. Prices are relatively high considering what you get. Breakfast, unfortunately, is not up to scratch: Limited selection of cold cuts, dry bread and cheap products. I asked for scrambled eggs, and what I got was a burnt greasy light yellow mass. I did not eat it. Breakfast was supposed to last until 10, but already 15 minutes before, the staff started carrying food away and clearing the tables.

Went to Alesund in feb loved the place didn't see the northern lights unfortunately and just wish that it had been colder ,we did see snow though when we went on an overnight trip on the Hurtegruten to Trondhiem and got the train back to Alesund ,we also went to Stranda which was a beautiful and very cold, to sum up Alesund didn't disappoint we loved every minute the hotel was lovely right on the water would love to go back .

Room 204 and 428 Pros - Very clean - Newly decorated rooms - Very friendly staff - Great breakfast selection - Good location, walk to town - No noise transfer between rooms Cons - Cruise ships are very loud and vibrate throughout the room when they dock literally 5m out the front of the hotel. During the day and late at night, ruined the entire stay. Could not stress this enough. General - Requested a room change to try and get away from the ship noise, to no avail but the staff were lovely and let us change rooms - No iron - No conditioner

Centrally located. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Room was spacious, clean had adequate amenities and is pleasant. The hotel is very clean and new. Breakfast was inadequate and had few choices. The service person in the breakfast area was very intrusive preventing people from taking food out of the dinning area.

This was our first time staying with Radisson Blu in Norway and we were very happy that we gave them a try! Everything was good, from check in to check out. The desk clerks were especially nice and helpful, and were so even before we ever checked in. I was in contact with the hotel months before our visit to ask about the airport shuttle, and at that time, they went above and beyond what I would have expected in order to answer my questions. The room was very nice and well equipped. The amount of space was comfortable, and we had a corner sea view. What a treat! Extras included in the room included an empty fridge (never underestimate the savings that can be had with an empty fridge in Norway :-D) and a water kettle, as well as a selection of instant coffees. We used the kettle to make our own cocoa in the evenings, which we took down to the patio overlooking the ocean. Breakfast was delicious and was included in the room rate. Different items were on offer each day in the hot selection, including sausages, eggs and other hot dishes. Cold things were available as well, including breads, yogurt and toppings, lunch meats, and most importantly, brunost :-D The dining room in the lobby is used for breakfast and it is very comfortable and spacious. It is also possible to eat on the balcony (watch out for Frederik the seagull!) but we did not, as we had a cool and rainy stay in Ålesund. Our favorite part of the hotel was the balcony on the sea. We spent so much time out there, curled up in blankets on the couches, just watching the sea and the boats. A couple of times per day, Hurtigruten would dock behind the hotel for awhile, and seeing it up close was something I have wanted to do for a long time, so that was really cool (and was one of the reasons we booked this hotel) Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay at Radisson Blu Ålesund and would stay again. One tip: If you would like to use the airport shuttle to the hotels, it is just one shuttle that services all of the major hotels in the area. We were expecting it to be marked with the Radisson logo, but it was not (this is how it is at home and was our mistake) the driver however did ask if we needed the hotel shuttle. We just wrongly assumed that he was driving for a different hotel. We figured it out when on the next pick up, he was the only shuttle who showed up. We ended up using the city bus as he had a full van on that trip and we wanted to get settled in. Not a problem, just something to be aware of. Also, the hotel will help you to schedule your shuttle back to the airport. Just talk with reception a day or two in advance.

Enjoyed the location as it is right on the water near where the Hurtigruten docks. Room was clean and some have a water view. Breakfast buffet (included) was huge with nice hot and cold options. Parking is a bit tricky as they don't have parking onsite but they'll give you suggestions where to park.
