Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Work or play on multiple decks, enjoy inside-outside treehouse vibe, great views of Mt. Diablo and surrounding hills, a hiking trail a block away. House works for singles, couples or small families. Close to St. Mary's college, UC Berkeley, 5 minutes to BART for train to San Francisco, 25 minutes to San Francisco by car, an hour to wine country, 90 minutes to Monterey, 90 minutes to beaches, Muir Woods, 2.6 hours to Lake Tahoe, 4 hours to Yosemite. Great base for Northern California stay. No parties. House is normally home to dogs/cats so no allergies, please. You'll love the open feeling, the access to trails, the quiet neighborhood and ample off street parking. Great restaurants and charming movie theaters are a mile or two away. Lafayette has a wide assortment of restaurants and Moraga and Orinda boast old California charm, with local bookstores, ice cream shops. Walnut Creek has shopping galore.

Great Location, but Cleanliness Needs Serious ImprovementWe loved the location as it was perfect for visiting both of my siblings who live in Lafayette. Unfortunately, the property itself had several cleanliness and maintenance issues that made our stay challenging. There was a strong cat urine odor throughout, and many of the basics weren’t properly cleaned or prepared. The towels still had tags on them and clearly hadn’t been washed, and the washer was full of hair and smelled terrible, which made it impossible to do laundry, especially hard with three small children.The coffee maker hadn’t been cleaned, and the king bed didn’t have a mattress cover. These details made us question the overall upkeep of the home.That said, the location was truly amazing, and with some updates and attention to cleanliness, this could be a great place to stay. We would love to return in the future if those improvements were made.

Beautiful house, great location

This house is a beautiful place to stay. It’s a beautiful home in a very quiet neighborhood. The kitchen and bathrooms are modern and the backyard is a peaceful oasis with an amazing view. It’s a quick trip to downtown Lafayette for shopping and dining. It’s also a close drive to downtown Walnut Creek. The host was friendly and happy to answer all my questions.
