The Sofitel is a fairly small property, which gives it a warm, cozy feeling. Restaurants are top notch, staff are very friendly, rooms are kept immaculate, and the property is beautiful. The beach is lovely and snorkelling is very good. I would be very happy to return here.

Excellent location, best snorkeling, gin clear water, and fabulous cuisine. Staff were the best I’ve experienced. Ulla was very, very helpful as concierge,

Great Staff! Great Service! And rate for the room was fair.

The bed and pillows were comfy, loved the entire place!

Amazing breakfast. Great staff. Beach was beautiful.

A great get away location, and perhaps the best location on the island of Moorea with its views back across to Tahiti. It sits on what is by far the best beach on the whole island. I cannot comment on the other high end locations (Hilton and one other which name escapes me) but the Temae Beach certainly has that lagoon aqua blue waters you dream of. With its east coast location it does mean you loose the sun light earlier in the day as the sun dips below the imposing mountain behind the resort, but what a back drop that is, simply stunning with the early morning sunrise which I highly recommend stepping out to enjoy (then catch up on that missed sleep on the beach later! ;) ) Moorea is an imposing range of mountains shooting straight out of the Pacific with little more than a road looping its perimeter. Do not think it is ringed with white sandy beaches you can stroll on to from any point, many if not most of the coastal areas are on private land, and if you did have access it would be to an immediate stretch of water with no beach. The private beaches for the resorts are the best places if this is what you are looking for. The interior is beautiful to look at but with staggeringly steep sides access is limited to say the least. There are some good hikes to go on, but if that is not for you a trip to Belvedere look out gives some great views. This is not a place to go if you want a wild night life, but if you wish to get away from it all. I can firmly recommend it.

The hotel and staff are wonderful. The food was not good in the room service or the dining room. We had dinner at the upscale restaurant K and was not happy with one of the courses. The buffet couldn't keep anything warm or hot. So that was the only disappointment with our vacation at Sofitel Moorea.

Took the wife to the Sofitel Moorea for a third honeymoon. We had our sights set on Bora Bora, but as soon as I saw it was where the Kardashians vacation, I wanted something else. I think Moorea is the Kauai of the Tahitian islands. The over the water bungalows where prestine, and beaches are about as blue as it gets. Loved every second, but pack plenty of liquor and snacks. The hotel has less than dial up internet, and drinks way overpriced. The only place good to eat is off property at the Moorea Beach Cafe. Best food on the island.

This Hotel is located in a beautiful part of the island with so much fish life. It took our breath away. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. The water bungalow was an amazing experience. The internet is really very bad. I don't think they have a gym there, but we didn't ask. One thing about the island is there were many mosquitoes flying around biting us. We would get bit from any inland building on the island, but we were safe in the water and in our water bungalow. My wife and I had a wonderful time there, thanks to the location, the staff and the room.

We stayed at Sofitel for our honeymoon, and it was simply gorgeous. The hotel is located on the fairly isolated east side, so there aren't any restaurants (besides the hotels') that are within walking distance. Fortunately they will all pick you up when you make a reservation! Rent a bicycle and ride up the back way to Maharepa for shopping and lunches. Also the restaurant buffet dinner was a bit pricey. We tried both the beach view room and the Superior Overwater Bungalow, and I'd say the beach was better. Both were excellent!
