Ideally located very close to everything in old Montpellier. Very quirky looking hotel, our room was a little small but had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was good and a fair range of foods. The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us top tips on what to visit and where to eat. would recommend the hotel for sure as it was well priced and in a great location
If you are traveling by car, this hotel is not for you, doesn't have facilities for parking, you can't park in front of hotel to unload the luggage's, not even a trolley, customer service appalling. We have arrived at this hotel in the afternoon after traveling for 6 hours by car with a 16 months old baby, and you can imagine our shock when we notice that we can't get to the hotel by car because it is in a square, it was nobody there to help us. We have instructed the receptionist to cancel our room because we are not happy with the services which she was happy to do so. So anyway to cut it short after 2 days we got in contact with expedia and explained our situation, they got in contact with the hotel and we were very outraged to hear that we have spent there the night, which this was FALSE , anyway after I have said that I can prove that we haven't, after they mentioned that we are not entitled to any refund because we have't notified them with 24 hour prior, but my problem is that we have intended to stay the night, but the haven't had the facilities and also not helpful at all, even after we have complained to the receptionist. Never again !!!!!!!!!!!! Stay AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a vey pretty hotel- beautiful and quirky decor. The room was lovely with a balcony looking to the main square. The room was spacious and had a very comfy bed and good shower. Towels were small and there were no robes. Staff were excellent. It is quite difficult to find. Aim for the Comedie car park in the old town. Look up for the hotel. It's right in the edge of the main square but not easy to spot at ground level if you don't know it's there.
If you are travelling across the Provence, it's one of the most convenient options. The hotel is in the center of town, near the beautiful central square. The parking place is underground (public parking), do not miss it while arriving to the hotel. The rooms are very nice and elegant.
Lovely hotel walking distance from train station (5 mins) and from main centre (2 mins). We were very happy with the room with good facilities and good air conditioning. Would thoroughly recommend. We booked on room only basis and had breakfast elsewhere as breakfast in hotel €17 per person and you can get a good breakfast for €5.90 a few minutes walk from hotel.
Rooms are a good size , with modern decor. Wifi worked well. Excellent location, tram stop about 20 yards away, main station a few minutes walk. The start of the old town is within a few yards. There are several places to eat just across the square and there is a medium sized supermarket virtually next door. The staff speak excellent english and are very friendly and helpful. We didn't eat in the hotel as there are so many restaurants close by. The rooms are very quiet and in four nights I heard no noise from any other residents or anyone outside.
Lovely clean hotel and good service. Amazing location, right by the trams, 5-10 min walk to the train station. On the pedestrian walkway, with the tourist office located within a couple of mins walk away, access to the Medieval town and lots of bars and restaurants.
Went in early July this year - first time in Montpelier. Great location as close to station and we came by train from Le Mans. Walk-able in less than 10 mins. Also overlooks square if you get right room. Our room on 3rd floor was huge, with big round bath in the bedroom, large bathroom with shower, balcony and excellent air con. Pleasant bar with great service but sadly not open on Sundays. Plenty of restaurants nearby and adequate breakfast if you want it.
My family and I would like to thank Márcia ( brasilian attendant) and the portuguese manager for the kindness during our stay at the Grand Hotel du Midi. Parabenizamos a funcionária Marcia, brasileira que atende na recepção. Muito educada e prestativa. Ficamos muito satisfeitos.
It is a little while since we stayed here and since then the hotel has been totally renovated. It is an improvement. The staff seem more interested and friendly, the rooms are adequate, as are the breakfasts. Near to the station and close to the theatre and main square, recommended.
