We ere booked in for 2 nights 28 the Feb and 1st of March, in the great snow. we arrived at 7.00 after travelling 24 miles in 7 hours...... The guy on reception, sorry I didn't get his name, was magnificent. the phone never stopped ringing with people trying to get rooms and he checked us in calmly. we put our stuff in our room and rushed to the restaurant as we hadn't eaten since breakfast and there he was again still fending off phone calls but now showing people to their tables. The man deserves a medal. Thanks..
First glance not the best but as they say never judge a book by its cover. Clean, great staff, food good and they are happy to help with any request. On the number 9 bus route which is great for access to the main team route.
Easy access from the péage, free, albeit unsecured, on site parking and a helpful reception, a good start. The rooms are as you would expect at this price, clean comfortable with effective aircon. However the restaurant fails to live up to standard, keeping fish for example under hot lights just delivers dried tasteless fish! Entrecôte steak was too thin thus to achieve rare steak pink in the middle is impossible. Buffet breakfast no complaints, good selection, nice coffee. So in conclusion convenient economic accommodation, just be prepared to eat out in the evening.
For the fairly reasonable price we paid, I would rate it 4/5. A few good things about this place: free parking, not too far from the city center (yet you still need to drive to get there and pay exorbitant city parking fees), unfortunately the tram station is quite far to walk to. There is a restaurant downstairs of average quality and the menu repeats itself every day. We never tried the breakfast which is priced at 9.5euros per person. There is a kettle in the room with some basics like tea and coffee but no fridge. One big inconvenience we found is that the building has open corridors leading directly to all the rooms like in a motel situation. This year, France is suffering from severe cold weather, making it very uncomfortable to get in and out of the room just to go to the restaurant. However, this should be a rare occurrence as we are down in the South. By the way, the heater worked very well in the room.
The hotel is located 10 minutes from a tram stop which takes you to the old town. The room with double bed was well appointed and comfortable. The bathroom is very good for this class of hotel, plenty of hot water and quality shower. Staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel was sold out when we stayed.
I stayed in this hotel few nights while attending a conference. I did not want to stay in the busy hotels reserved for the conference, I wanted to stay some distance away. This is a budget hotel but very good for business travel. The people who work in this hotel made a big difference. Everybody from the reception to the bar tender and waiters/waitresses were great. The dinner service is good also if you do not want to go into the city for a meal. Free parking, free internet, good location. All staff spoke good English and were very helpful during my stay. Jari
We stopped here for 1 night to attend a concert nearby. Hotel is OK for 1 night. The front desk is absolutely useless and not interested at all in doing their jobs. Room is clean and adequate. Would defintely not stay here again
Average Hotel, modern furniture (but slightly worn), bad value for the price but caring and frendly staff. Good bar. (food average). Compare to other hotel (Accor Ibis by example, the price is too high for the value (95€ for the room 9,5€ for the breakfast)
The rooms are small with a very low ceiling so not for the tall person. Clean rooms and friendly reception + restaurant people so this makes it up. OK for 1 night. No restaurants in the close proximity, just businesses. TV only has French speaking channels. Closed parking behind gate so your car is safe. Wifi included but slow. Air con in the room.
The hotel is situated close to the highway and in a very quiet area. It has free outdoor parking, which we appreciated. Room was clean and tidy, though a little bit small (but I think that's how Campanile hotels are). Staff was friendly and helpful. However, wouldn't recommend eating at their ground level 'restaurant'. We had the 'pasta of the day' and regretted our decision, as the pasta came quite bare, without any sauces or meat. It was like someone boiled it and put it on a plate. Was also quite expensive (10 euros per dish). So for food, save your money and go somewhere else in Montpellier.
