Title sums it up. It is a good value for a pit Stop it to are traveling thru the area. Location is in a working class area which clearly has seen better times. on a Saturday night there is No open business: restaurant, bar, cafe, etc. So you pretty much are stuck in the hotel, where for only 10 euros(which is rather cheap on the good side) You get to wait for ages for 3 dishes, none of which was edible. The vegetable soup needed all the condiments added. The Duck rice was atrocious Staff good + attentive hotel wise. Staff at the bar (no AC + very hot) and restaurant are interns and have absolutely no idea what they are doing. Or not doing rather. At least this comes with a smile. Rooms are spacious. A bit run down, but everything works. Cleanliness is relative. Bathroom hadn't seen a broom in some time.
Nice hotel for a short stay with comfortable tidy room. Quiet environment. Breakfast is well served. Nice terras in the neighbourhood at walk distance to relax. Good comfort for fair price, no more no less
We stayed here as part of a tour in Portugal. We arrived at the hotel at about 9.00 pm and were told we would be provided with a 'packed dinner'. We checked in and went straight to our room, which was basic to say the least. The grout between the tiles in the bathroom were badly stained and all the decor was tired and dated. The television was an old CRT type and about as small as you could get. All I can say is that the sheets were clean and there was hot water to wash in. The so-called packed dinner consisted of a small roll and a slightly larger one with, what looked like fatty pork, and the other with processed ham. There was a packet of crisps and a small bottle of water. Considering the hotel is supposedly 4-star, I would have expected much, much better. We were tired and hungry but could bring ourselves to eat what had been provided. Also, as we discovered as the tour progressed, hotels in Portugal don't provide tea and coffee-making facilities in rooms, so we couldn't even make a hot drink! The breakfast was abyssmal and one of our party, an elderly, disabled gentleman, slipped over in the bath and had to wait 25 minutes for someone to attend his room, once he had pulled the emergency switch. Added to this, the hotel was located in the 'back of beyond' in a run-down residential district of a distant suburb of Lisbon. Unfortunately, we had too endure two nights here before moving on to better accommodation. This hotel does not even deserve a 2-star rating, let alone 4 stars. Avoid this hotel at all costs!
Very impressive restaurant and bar facilities. The new hospitality manager Rui was extremely helpful, professional and informative. Suggestions on local produce, attractions and activities were relayed with enthusiasm and accuracy - making our stay in Montijo much more thank just a stop over. I would happily recommend this hotel to all who visit Portugal.
The rooms are big and nice with ample beds. The bathrooms are ok, with the basic amenities. The breakfast is good and varied. It is very quiet at night. It was our second visit and not a bad price for what you get.
Rooms are large, but not always very clean. Air-conditioning is poor. Rooms stay rather warm. Breakfast is standard. Staff is very friendly. Located in small town. Couple of bars and restaurant in the neighborhood. Ferry to Lisbon at 4km.
Interesting location. Not a tourist hotel as not around much. It is a clean basic hotel. The front desk staff was pleasant. This hotel did one of my few pet peeves. When I arrived at 1:45 It was clearly not busy and the hotel was not full but the desk staff politely told me that my room was not ready until 2pm (check in time). I asked if they could give me a different room but she told me that was the one assigned to me so I had to wait for it. Once I finally made it to the room it was very simple. It was clean. Unfortunately the shower left much to desire. I turned it on to warm up the water and the shower head started whirling around in the holder completely soaking the whole bathroom.
We stayed here on our return to Lisbon and were pleasantly surprised by the good quality of the hotel; very spacious and well equipped rooms; very friendly and helpfull staff; good meal in otherwise empty restaurant; the city itself is worth a visit
I've travelled to Alcochete and this time instead of staying in the Alfoz Hotel, I've decided to stay in Montijo, for 1 night with my wife and 5 year old kid, and really loved the hotel and the room. Big enough, modern, and clean, and it's almost half of the price of the Alfoz Hotel, and 10 times better!!! The only problem was the TV set, that was too small (old CRT models), and the staff could have a smile on their face, as it wouldn't kill them.
I stayed here on business for three nights at the end of September. I disagree with the other reviewers - I think it provides great value for money. I stayed in an Executive room and B&B for EUR 68 is very good value. The bed was huge and very comfortable with lots of fluffy pillows. The room was large, and both room and bathroom were perfectly clean. The Wifi worked well. Breakfast was fine - nicely cooked scrambled eggs, fresh bread and bread rolls, standard selection of cereals, real milk (which you don't get in some hotels). Yes, I also missed the fresh fruit (only canned provided) but that was the only thing. Overall I'm very happy with my stay.
