We spent three nights at Palladium Business Hotel for a weekend trip to Montevideo. The lobby and the rooftop pool are very nice, while the rooms are quite small and a bit run down. There are old carpets on the floors and all the infrastructure is slightly out of date... Breakfast is OK. So if you don't stay too long in your room, it might be a good choice. There is one more thing: if you have a rental car, you'll have to park it in a mall around the corner for 450 U$Pesos.
What a find ! The hotel is in a brilliant location near the World Trade Centre. There are a host of excellent restaurants on the doorstep, a huge shopping centre a couple of blocks away and a small beach only steps away ! Victoria at reception was charming, friendly and helpful and breakfasts were great. The room itself was clean and spacious, although the bathroom was only average (but not bad enough to cost the hotel it's 5th star !) There is a rooftop pool and gym as well. What more could you possibly expect for this very moderate price ????? And did I mention the very lovely Victoria ?
The room was actually dirty, mostly on windows and bathroom. Beds are ok, fourniture from rooms, even the TV is old and it took forever to make the cable system works. Breakfast is also okay. (located on their restaurant, with a nice view). They claim to be 4 stars, I think is more a 3 one.
Looking for a place t stay in Montevideo for one night last week, I found this hotel and my stay turned into a pleasant surprise. Adequate friendly staff. The location is excellent in a good part of town. Down-town is just 15 minutes by taxi. Closer to the airport and close to the rambla and close to a shopping center (just in case). Also there is a nice, but slightly overpriced restaurant at walking distance. The hotel offers room service but I wanted to get some fresh air and took the walk. Room (303) and bed is good and that also is true for the breakfast service. All in all I can recommend this hotel.
Stayed in Palladium in September and hotel have good prices, good service and good rooms ! Room are big enough with good amenities with good price ! Breakfast was good, not much varieties but well prepared ! Internet was slow but working ! Overall hotel is very good !
Our visit was amazing. The staff was welcoming and kind. We were allowed earlier in our room, the breakfast was incredible and the room service was perfect. It was memorable and I'm sure that, once I go back to Montevideo, that's where I'll stay once again.
We stayed at this hotel for three nights. The front desk service was extremely friendly and competent. The hotel is dated but clean. Our room was of an ok size but the bathroom was fairly small - quite cramped for two people in there at the same time. The shower was over the bath and if you were a big/tall person I'd imagine it would feel a bit claustrophobic - however the water pressure was brilliant! Breakfast had a good selection but no black tea (ahhhh, no!!). There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms either although there is a coffee machine in the lobby. The hotel is located in the financial district and is just down the road from a big shopping mall.
Quick check in, spacious room, good breakfast and nice pool. Easy walk to restaurants and the tourist bus stops outside (not that we used it). Unfortunate that on our last morning when we returned from breakfast our room was being cleaned, a little annoying that they couldnt wait as it was only 9.30am.
Our concern upon arrival was the distance from the port. However, we learned that the number six local bus stops very close by and will get you to Plaza Independencia which is centrally located downtown for less than the equivalent of an American dollar. The hotel is located very close to a mall which also has a grocery store. Most importantly, the very only ATM that we could find that would accept a chip card was located at Banco Republica on the second floor in the mall. This machine is not marked but locals are happy to help you out. Very nice dining can be found about a block away at either a steak house or an Italian restaurant. Use your credit card at restaurants to avoid the steep tax. The room was dated and the carpets and drapes had a shabby, worn appearance but were clean. Our bed was comfortable. There was some street noise at certain parts of the day but we found in quiet enough during the night. We were able to get English news on the TV. We particularly enjoyed the selection at breakfast. Only scrambled eggs were available but we appreciated the juice, fruit, yogurt, granola and choices of breads. There was no need to rush for breakfast as it was available well into the morning. We were impressed with how safe the area was. The staff at the front desk were very helpful. We prefer to do our own touring and exploring, but we loved the tour of the Bouza Vineyard that we arranged through the hotel. This hotel is located in a safe residential area and although it was about a 30 minute trip from downtown, we really felt is was a great choice for us. In addition, if you take the hop on/ hop off bus, it also stops near the mall. It was too cool for us to use the pool but it would be a nice option on a hot day.
Great room, clean and spacious with an excellent bathroom. Well located for the city and the beaches. Close to the shopping centre. Excellent breakfast with friendly efficient staff. We loved it and we were there a week. Thank you
