After landing stuff started to fall apart, no phone service, excursion booked wrong and husband spilled his shower gel all over my clothes. So after being on the phone with T-Mobile for over a hour I freakin need a drink and to look at the water...... get to the dock and before I can sip.... my drink spills! I’m frustrated but out of no where comes Pete and just a small conversation makes my night just a lil bit better. Thanks Pete you are alright with me. Hopefully i can get it right, btw I am a big mouth. Lol
What can I say? Peter has made a wonderful getaway for his visitors. You walk in and you are immediately taken aback by the beauty of the lobby. And, as you're standing in the lobby, you are able to look directly through the doors to the Caribbean Sea. As a matter of fact, it's possible to keep walking straight out onto the pier (I think it's a pier). I stayed for four days and three nights. My room was just as lovely. Lots of room and the bed was amazingly comfortable! You could seriously stay between the bedroom and the ocean for your whole vacay. It is that relaxing. I may have seen the other couple staying here twice. Otherwise, we were all alone. Peter and the girls that work there were always around if you had a question - but you didn't feel as if they were hovering at all. You get the feeling it's your own space. Kayaking equipment is provided for a small charge - and it's awesome! (my first time doing it). We did not have to share the waters with any other visitors or tourists AND, it was unlimited kayaking!!! I just can't explain the release that is felt when you are at a place that is NOT crowded and touristy. Breakfast was fine. Depending on how you book, there is a complimentary breakfast. In addition, there is a menu with plenty of other breakfast choices on it for a small charge. We ate out, so I cannot remember if there is dinner. However, there is a restaurant across the street. I did not go there. Buses and taxis are available right outside the gates. I say travel locally and experience the area. Nothing is too far away. Peter, the owner. (smiling). Always leaves you with the feeling that he is indeed working for you the customer to have THE most pleasant experience. As other reviewers have indicated, he is always working to improve something, somewhere on the grounds. Water's Edge is truly his creation and you can tell that he's poured a lot of love and sweat into it. I especially appreciated ALL the times he had to take a few moments to explain or re-explain something to me (you know what I mean Peter, Lol!) But, it was never a bother to him - he always made sure every explanation was crystal clear. Our chat over coffee on my last morning - it was about EVERYTHING! So, you also get a great conversationalist. All in all, I'd definitely say Waters Edge Villa is a perfectly quiet, getaway spot. You really will enjoy your time there. We definitely did.
This is a fantastic place for a romantic gateway, a wedding, a reception, and, yes, a honeymoon trip. Christine and I had the best experience here. Peter, the owner-manager-driver-do-all guy went out of his way to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. This is a small (8 rooms), beautiful, clean, safe, real place ran by a Jamaican owner. This is not one of these corporate all-inclusive hotels that imprison you. I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT for couples, groups of friends, etc. Peter is also upgrading the place to add a swimming pool, etc to make it on-site pleasant for small children. Also, if you need a ride, Peter would drive you for an affordable fee. Highly recommended, the best place in Jamaica.
This was our final destination in me and my brothers adventure around the island. I can’t say enough about the absolutely amazing hospitality everyone displayed. Sharon,Melody and the owner Peter were there to help and please us to no end. Luxurious building with hardwood and marble everywhere. Loved sitting out back watching the cruise ships come and go. Thanks to all of you and can’t wait to see you again in 5 months. Big Up !!
The Edge Waters guest house was a bitter sweet experience. This was my first trip to Jamaica I didn’t really know what to expect. The location of the guest home is about 20 minutes or so from the airport. A $40 cab ride. Peter, the host, helps by offering rides so you don’t have to call a taxi for about the same price. I wish I would have rented a car, it would have cost less and given me more freedom. Peter is professional when it comes to business but also loves flirt with the ladies. The young lady that cleans the house and prepares breakfast is really sweet and warm and is very accompanying As far as the room. The A/C wasn’t the best and water pressure was minimal. Rooms are clean. Overall, Im glad I stayed here. Being it was my first time in Jamaica and I traveled alone Peter was helpful in explaining how to deal with locals. Giving a sense of “knowing someone”. Which is an important impression to give traveling alone. He gave a informative tour on the way to Negril about the history and culture of Jamaica. Was I impressed by the room? No, not the garden view. Was I impressed with the experience here? Yes, I was. I would not have gotten this experience on a resort or a hotel. I am a woman who traveled alone and felt completely safe.
Talk about the WOW factor! It's a quiet, intimate & BEAUTIFUL GEM. From the Ocean Views & Fabulous decor to the accommodating staff & pleasant surroundings. Water's Edge is a MUST DO! It's CLEAN & COMFORTABLE too. The Owner is just as FANTASTIC making sure your stay is as pleasant as possible. If you're tried of big hotels and crowed resorts, do Jamaica the Water's Edge way. Psst! Try & get the Big Room/Suite (before I get back...lol). The View from the Balcony is STUNNING! It's well worth the $$$.
We found this place on our Time Share exchange and is an amazing deal. It is a beautiful home on the water and the owner is the most friendly and inviting person you will meet. My kids love this place. We were feeding the fish from the steps of the property. We are definitely coming back to this jewel!!!
I certainly couldn’t have said it better than the previous review by im4cruzn. However I would add a special thanks to Melody,Sharon and Cheryl for making my brother and I feel like family and their genuine concern for our comfort. Fantastic place to relax and enjoy the wonderful scenery and luxurious accommodations. Thank you Peter for helping us out when we needed you. Bless Up everyone Hope to see you soon.
We stayed two nights. It is very nice and clean. You cannot get closer to the water. It is a very comfortable place and the attitude from staff is very service minded. Peter, the owner, is professional and exceptional with his service. He took us around the countryside and gave us just the tour we wanted; the non touristy one. We can recommend this guest house.
My wife and I stumbled upon this place while searching for a vacation spot. We'd been on multiple cruises and really enjoyed Jamaica as a destination yet we'd never stayed longer than an afternoon while in port. I don't recall how Waters Edge popped up on my screen. I was searching this or that travel site and came acrossed it and I am so happy I did. The owner's/caretaker's name is Vivian Robinson but his friends call him "Peter". You will call him "Peter". Peter never stops working on his property and you'll find him fixing or upgrading this or that and he is happy to assist whenever and where ever he can. He's a jewel of unquestionable Character and Integrity. I trust him without question. We'd be lounging and Peter would show up with mango, or papaya or a coconut fresh off the trees on his property. He has only one goal - to make friends of his guests. I am proud to count him among mine. If you have questions, ask Peter. He'll give you the honest answers about the Island and it's history. One amusing story is why folks no longer call him Vivian. Have a look at Waters Edge. It is amazing.
