+Hotel is overall ok. Near the airport, nice views. -I would say bad breakfest, that you have to wait for a long time. BUT, the management is VERY BAD. They charged me twice, agreed with it, but then stopped answering my emails and I get my money back only with the help of booking.com. Also they dont provide the shuttle service on the evening and there are no word about it on the booking sites.
We stayed one night at the Relax Resort before heading down to Little Bay. Our flight came in late so we arrived after dark. A man with a Security shirt checked us in. There are a LOT of steps to lug all of your stuff up. We could tell even at night that the surroundings were well manicured and tropical. Once arriving in the 2 bedroom apartment things were different, it was like we had just stepped back into the 1970's. Things are not in the best of shape! We made due since it was just for one night. The staff was nice and helpful to get us bottled water late at night from the pool bar. The free Jamaican style breakfast was really great and served to us in a pretty room overlooking all the beautiful landscaping and the bay. The pool is very clean and beautiful. We enjoyed sitting outside at the tables under the lush tropical trees and flowers. Things just need to be updated in the rooms and the place would be closer to a 5 star because the setting in the hill is so nice! It was fine for a night but would not want to stay there an entire week.
Relax Resort is very handy for Montego Bay Airport. Its rooms are large and comfortable but in need of some improvements. There are a lot of steps because the hotel is on a hill and in many places the steps do not have a hand rail, which is a bit difficult for older people. The staff are friendly but lack training. To get a drink in the bar you have to go in search of a waiter and one evening we asked for a rum punch to be told that the person who makes them was not on duty that night. The food was average. We used the hotel's shuttle bus twice and were let down on both occasions, once it did not come to the airport as arranged and the other it did not pick us up for our return from town. It has a nice pool but uncomfortable loungers and only one or two tables. However, Relax Resort is not expensive.
My family and I stayed over the Christmas Holidays. It was a very nice place to stay. Staff was very nice and friendly. Location was great. The breakfast was "awesome." Many compliments to the chef. Marsha gave excellent customer service. Thank you Marsha. Many thanks to Andrea the housekeeper for making those animal figures. My sons loved them. I have two suggestions though, new towels are needed and mini-fridge needs fixing. Other than those, we enjoyed our stay and we felt safe there. We would stay there again.
This hotel is a diamond in the rough! We just spent a week there, and had a wonderful time both at the resort and in the city. Although the hotel is aging, it provided everything we needed and at a very affordable rate. This scenic hotel is perched on a hill about 5 minutes from the airport, and features a majestic view of beautiful Montego Bay. We had a beautiful view and the aviaries with multi-colored parrots were a nice feature, but their best asset is the wait staff. Carlton, Clifford, and the front desk personnel were exceptional, and always smiling and willing to help. The owner, Teta even cut me some fresh aloe vera to help with a sunburn. Wow ! Great times. The local people on Hobbs Ave are a treasure as well! Shout out to Stoney, Marci, Shaneka, Leroy, Kayley and all the wonderful hepful people on Hobbs Ave
Very large tropically-landscaped setting with amenities that would accommodate large and small groups, children and seniors. The setting is very private and has apartments, studios, double and single rooms (pool, of course). There are tropically landscaped walking paths throughout the facility. Large groups including children; i.e. reunions and other large gatherings may choose from a variety of accommodations with or without balconies; i.e. 3 bedroom villas and studios with kitchinettes, as well as single and double-bed rooms. The location is very near the airport with shuttle service to airport, beaches, shopping and other towns, such as Ocho Rios and Negril. There is an in-house chef and fully-equipped bar for a variety of meal selections and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Relax Resort, Montega Bay, Jamaica truly is a best kept secret!
We had a wonderful experience here... If you are looking for peace and quiet this is where you wanna be. We loved the room but only one thing inside the room messed up the a statics the mini freight. Overall the stay was lovely and the staffs were pleasant.
At the last minute I flew to Montego Bay a day before my Cuba cruise. Called the hotel and was pleased with the nice woman I spoke to over the phone. But everything changed once I got there. Hotel is a short drive or walk to the airport, nestled in a beautiful mountain side location like being in a forest. Rooms were very dated, bathroom was a mess, rusted areas and mangled walls. Bed was ok with lumpy pillows, old 20 plus year old tv set with HBO, but trying to get food was impossible. The next morning I asked front desk staff to call around to other taxi services to find a cab less than $30 one way trip to the cruise port (as promised she would do the evening before), but after one call she refused to call another, telling me "that's how much it costs ", which was a complete lie even after speaking to other staff at the hotel. So FYI if you have one small bag it's only $2, walk to the main street flag a bus down to main bus station and take a local taxi for $1. Easy peezy! I would NEVER stay here again and wouldn't recommend either. Breakfast is only Jamaican food.
We just needed a reasonable priced hotel for our last night in Jamaica before flying home. Did first a wedding in one of the all inclusive resorts and then explored Kingston and hiked the Blue mountain. This was our last night of our adventure. Very close to the airport but a little distance from downtown. Took the hotel because of the free airport shuttle, but then your need to get a taxi for going into town. You do have great view of the Bay and there is a swimming pool to cool off.
There is nothing good to say about this place. Furniture old and dilapidated, small fridge old and rusty inside. Ice shelf had no cover and ice tray hsd no water/ice. Towels were old, rough and worn out. No elevator, if you are on the 3rd floor you have to climb lots of steps. No phone in the room, had to walk to the reception for questions. Breakfast was horrible - only local breakfast - had to pay for American breakfast (expensive) Too far from the Hip Strip and it's $20 US to get into town, which becomes very expensive. I would not recommend!
