Villa Ampella La Torre is one of two restored villa apartments in what was an old farm house. The Villa is located in the hilltop hamlet of Podere Ampella, which consists of eight other restored villas and a community swimming pool. With stunning views from every room, Villa Ampella La Torre has three bedrooms, two full baths, a half bath, and comfortably sleeps 6 people.

Located in Montalcino, in the Province of Siena, Villa Ampella La Torre is the perfect location for day trips to explore nearby historic towns, such as Pienza, Montisi, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Perugia, Gubbio, Bagno Vignoni, Arezzo, and San Quirico d'Orcia.

Absolutely amazing! Such a well stocked, modern kitchen with a full-size refrigerator. Lovely home with spectacular view and within easy driving distance of quaint but lively cities. Wish I didn’t have to leave! Our host helped us with everything from driving directions to booking cooking classes. I highly recommend this home and dream of returning myself.

We recently stayed at Villa Ampella la Torre and have nothing but great things to say. The communication with both the owners and the caretaker before, during and after our visit was exceptional - particularly their care, attention, and advice they gave on visiting local attractions and booking a private chef through the Tuscan Chef (highly recommended). The house is beautifully decorated, new, clean, spacious and well equipped, and the pool there is amazing. While we had a couple of issues with the AC and water supply, these were immediately addressed (despite us saying there was nothing urgent). Their caretaker is so lovely and went out of her way to ensure we were enjoying our stay. The only reason we did not rate the location as excellent is due to the distance from other amenities (e.g., groceries, restaurants, etc.), but the property is beautiful and the views are stunning. We would absolutely recommend staying here and hope we have the opportunity to return one day. Sincere thanks to our hosts and Jirina for making this an unforgettable vacation. Grazie mille!

Great villa in Tuscany

We went with our granddaughter (2 years) and my son and girlfriend. The villa was in a great location in Tuscany if you want to be in the southern section. The villa is large, great for groups and has a lovely patio outlook. The dining living area has several French doors that open out to the patio/garden. There was one issue I raised with the owner regarding reliability of water pressure which I hope they addressed. The ‘host’ was super responsive. I’d stay again.

Lovely property quiet and spacious. Well appointed and handy to all little villages. Very helpful caretaker who helped us with a few problems we had with our car rental after we blew a tyre. We found out there were no local taxi services and Jo suggested places we could try.

Magical stay in Tuscany

Our family loved this wonderful and well located property. Naomi is an excellent host and we received a warm welcome from Jo. Communication before and during our stay was excellent, including many wonderful recommendations that we took advantage of. The home is well appointed and spacious. It was perfect for our family, including our two kids. They loved the pool and we loved relaxing on the patio. The home is lovely and the photos don’t do the incredible view justice. Fabulous holiday

We spent a week at the end of July in this beautiful property. The communication before we travelled to Italy was great and when we arrived there was a local gentleman, Joe , on hand to answer any queries, sort any problem and even booked a restaurant for us as our Italian is very limited. The house was well equipped and very clean and comfortable. There was a helpful information book containing suggestions of what to see, where to eat, local grocery stores etc.The outdoor space was great with a large table and chairs, a BBQ and two loungers. Despite there being a few other properties on the site there was no noise and it often felt we were the only people there. The pool was beautiful and was never very busy. The views from the pool and from the garden were incredible as were the starry night skies. The surrounding area was full of vineyards, olive groves and beautiful villages to explore. If you are a cyclist you will love this location. I hired a gravel bike and had a great time cycling some of the local routes. All in all this property is beautiful, the views are stunning and it was hard to leave. Many thanks to Joe for being about for any queries etc.!

We had an excellent stay at Villa Ampella Torre. It was immaculately clean with a brand new kitchen with all the utensils and basics you need including a very appreciated welcome basket. The beds were very comfortable and very much a home from home. The crown jewel is the patio and the amazing sunsets and views. It is very quiet and has a lovely shared pool but mostly we were the only ones using it. Villa Ampella Torre is very centrally based for all the beautiful Tuscan towns.

Beautiful Villa in Tuscany

The Villa is perfect in many ways...the kitchen is well-equipped, has a very comfy sitting area, has incredible views and sunsets of the Tuscan countryside from the lovely outdoor patio, and overall is well appointed. Podere Ampella is quiet and peaceful and we really enjoyed our ten nights there. The location is excellent for driving to the major sites, Siena, Assisi, Cortona as well as the small villages that are close by to explore. Our communication with Naomi was superb and she provided excellent instructions and directions to us prior to our arrival at the Villa. We were met by Jo, the caretaker who was super helpful and nice throughout our stay. He made us feel comfortable and shared some of his favorite places to visit with us. Wonderful Tuscany Stay

We were guests at Villa Ampella La Torre in August 2023 and had a wonderful stay. The restored farmhouse is updated with modern amenities but still retains all the charm and rustic elegance of a country manor house. The advertised panoramic views of the Val d'Orcia from our villa surpassed our expectations. The sunsets were glorious. Nearly every evening we admired the fantastic view from our patio with a good glass or two of local wine. We thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities of the villa; the swimming pool was especially delightful after a full day of touring and wine tasting. The villa is conveniently located near several wineries and hilltop towns, and Naomi provided great tips on nearby restaurants, wineries, and other activities. We took a cooking class at the Tuscan-Chef Cooking School in nearby Montisi and highly recommend it - it was great fun learning to make and eating delicious traditional Tuscan dishes. Other highlights were trips to Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano, and Siena. One of our favorite winery experiences was at nearby Santa Giulia where we had an amazing tour and wine tasting with lunch. Since our first brief trip to Tuscany 10 years ago, we've dreamed of spending more time in a Tuscany villa. Our stay at Villa Ampella La Torre was everything we had imagined and more. Thanks Naomi!

Naomi provided great info on places to visit, places to eat, things to do nearby, very helpful logistical info about the place and surrounding area, responded promptly to our enquiries, and there was a basket of local goodies to welcome us! Jo is the guy you want on site. He was there to greet us, fun to chat up, very helpful and thoughtful and he also responded quickly to our enquiries. ALT was everything we hoped for, great accommodations, great location, great vistas. Beautiful Views!

This area and small community of villas is beautiful. Communication was great before arrival on getting there. Place was very clean and had all necessary amenities and was very spacious for four guests. We loved the patio for afternoon and the pool was refreshing for a late June visit. Our only issue appeared to be that the AC units were not cooling the Villa very well. We slept thru three nights with windows opened thinking that this was “normal”since we were told at arrival that the units were preset and it might take time to cool. It wasn’t until day four that we were told an AC repair person was coming to look at the units but we had not complained about AC. We then realized that it was known that the AC units were not working properly when we got there. That last night we were able to sleep with the windows closed and AC on and was very comfortable. We should have been told upon arrival of the AC situation and not led to believe that the temp inside was the normal temperature. Would stay again but we were disappointed that we weren’t told about the AC upfront.

Gorgeous Italian Retreat

I fell in love with this place from the photos. From the moment I booked, Naomi the owner made me feel not like a renter but like an old friend that she was excited to have visit. Naomi sent frequent emails all with helpful information about enjoying the area:wine tastings, cooking classes, grocery stores the hours. She really cares about making your trip memorable. This care shows in the property, IT IS BEAUTIFUL! Perfectly decorated with art from local Pienza, gorgeous views from every window, a beautifully stocked kitchen. It was very hot while we were there but because of all the windows and the position of the house the breeze always kept us cool. The pool has beautiful views and it is pristine. We were met by Jo the caretaker who is one of the kindest, loveliest men he made us all feel instantly at home. The patio is perfect we spent so much time admiring the beautiful Tuscan landscape and late setting sun. Bring some sketch books and pencils or paints because you will be inspired after a day of touring beautiful nearby towns to create your own art!

Gateway to Tuscany

As two couples renting the villa, we appreciated the space available to us. Two bedrooms (the third we did not use), two full bathrooms, AND a partial bath on the main floor. The villa is decorated wonderfully but still feels quite homey. The kitchen was well equipped and there is a grill on the outside patio which we happily used. The property had wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. It was very quiet and peaceful there. The stars at night are amazing! It is located in an area that allows for exploration of many of the local towns. We visited a different town each day and spent one day at one of the local hot springs. There are many great local restaurants. We were happy with each one that we dined at. The owner was terrific to work with. Kept in touch with us throughout the rental process and responded to our many inquiries without delay. Our check in process was very efficient and we were provided with recommendations for things to see and do which really enhanced our visit. In short, we loved the time we spent at the villa and in Tuscany! We would highly recommend this rental!!
