Great place for family vacation. Great location, grocery store is about 5 minutes away. The house was sparkling clean, spacious and well equipped kitchen. We have a great family time together for Thanksgiving vacation!

We stayed at this lovely home while in town for a family wedding. Our group ranged in age from 9-96 and it was perfect for all ages. The house is brand new, spacious, and one of the best appointed VRBO homes we have rented—and that says a lot because we have rented all over the USA, Caribbean, and Mexico. It was furnished SO beautifully and the owners truly left no stone unturned. A few of my personal favorite elements about the house was the dock with a top sun deck and the 4 swings on the lower deck. Plus, the dock was very well stocked with all sorts of fun water toys. Also, the mattresses in the bedrooms were very comfortable and we all commented how well we slept as a result of that. Finally, all cabinets and even the light fixtures are labeled which makes it really easy to find what you’re looking for in a rental home your unfamiliar with. The house has so many special touches that makes for the ultimate comfort. We definitely look forward to staying there again and recommend this special spot to others!

Our family of 3 generations (4 one night) had an absolutely fantastic time in this beautiful, newly constructed home! The open floor plan was great for traffic flow at mealtimes and when we were all together. The additional gathering areas on the deck, basement, firepit, and dock were wonderful for smaller gatherings. We really enjoyed using the big kitchen to prepare meals for our large group. We have been coming to SML since 2008, and rent a different house each year, but we heard multiple suggestions to come to Sunset Escape next year. If there was anything to change, we do not know what that would be. You will not regret booking this one!

We spent 10 days at the Sunset Escape in August 2025. It was, without a doubt, the most aesthetic VRBO that our family has ever stayed in. The decor and design of the home is straight from the pages of magazines. Not only decorated to perfection, the hosts have also stocked it with everything your group could need for a memorable stay at the lake. From the kitchen to the bathrooms, everything is organized. If you’ve ever spent hours of your vacation digging through drawers to find what you need, you’ll appreciate the time that was taken to label every drawer. No more precious time wasted! Stepping outside the house, the dock is a dream!! We appreciated the permission and ability to dock our boat and jet skis at the dock during our stay. Access to the boathouse with a refrigerator was a huge plus. Take a swing at the docks edge, or explore the cove on one of the paddle boards, your soul will thank you. When you’ve had enough of the water sports and cooking in the well-appointed kitchen, you’re just minutes away from some of the best food, shops, and activities on dry land that SML has to offer. If you’ve never stayed at the lake before, I cannot stress what a huge privilege the proximity is. Sunset Escape was the perfect place to unwind and to reconnect. We cannot recommend this rental enough. Shayla and Jason- Your home is beautiful. Thank you for allowing us the privilege of staying in it. We will be back!!

AMAZING EXPERIENCE
Everything is right about this sparkling new property. We had 3 generations of our family. Many many rentals at the lake and this one takes the prize in each and every way. The pictures are all real and the small touches throughout don't cease to amaze! WOW! Such a treat! Convenient to the bridge, boat services, rentals, gas, food, grocery, hardware, EVERYTHING! 2 delightful weeks. Thank you Thank you. Richardson/Moon families.

Great Stay at Sunset Escape
I booked a long weekend for my wife's 60th birthday party. I had 13 friends and family stay for the weekend and we had a private chef who prepared dinner for 22 on her birthday night. The home handled everything seamlessly. The crowd never felt "crowded" and we had an amazing time. Our favorite part was unwinding in the hot tub. The house is perfectly outfitted and when I had a couple of questions, the owner responded immediately. I will definitely stay here again and I look forward to spending more time on the dock and more fire time by the fire pit. Thank you for a great weekend.
