Ok this hotel isnt the poshest in town but I can't see grounds to complain staff were more than helpful and polite. We stated in room 10 overlooking the marina with a large balcony. Have to say totally worth the money for our overnight stay
My advice is to be very careful when booking this establishment. It is NOT a Hotel. It is a Residence, and this makes a noticeable difference. It is not the first time that on the "Booking.com" site a Residence is presented as a Hotel, but in reality, the service quality in a 4* Residence is at a lower level than in a 4* Hotel. It should be clearly noted. We've been already misled in the past & left disappointed. It didn't fail this time either. I will have to be more careful in the future and read the fine print. With reference to the Residence, there are several "Plus" worth mentioning. I'd definitely point to the location, the vicinity to Monaco, the nice view over the port, the quietness of the surroundings, the closeness to the Bus stop and the size of the room and of the balcony. Unfortunately, there are too many "Minus". I'll start by signalling that there is no Bell Boy. You'll have to go & look for the cart, load your luggage & take it to your room. There is a major lack of Security. You access the rooms from either an outside staircase or an elevator, you don't have to pass through the Reception area, so anybody can enter the room-area unnoticed. The main door leading to the corridor and to the quarters is always open and the lock is broken/missing. A word of advice: when retiring for the night, stop at the Reception Desk & have the electronic key re-activated to avoid walking to the room and find it doesn't open the door. It happened to us three times out of four. There is a kitchenette, you can use the spare dinnerware, but you'll have to wash it yourself, this is a Residence! No big deal, except that there is no detergent. The bathroom, in the room we stayed, was "blind" with no ventilation at all, neither forced nor spontaneous. Not even a Potpourri spay can. Very uncomfortable. The shower curtain did not touch the floor so every time we took a shower there was a lake on the floor overflowing into the bedroom. The bath linen was somewhat dated, one towel had a hole in it. I'm attaching a picture. The door to the balcony had a flimsy lock very easy to be forced from the outside. And to end it all, to relax and watch some TV we had to sit on a very uncomfortable kitchen chair. A sofa was a couple of feet away, but the TV set was so small we had to sit as close as possible to it to be able to see anything. Under those conditions it's obvious we'll never return to Le Quai des Princes nor will we recommend it. It's the first time I am being so negative about an establishment, but we are really unsatisfied and if I can help a single fellow traveller making him/her aware of the real situation and avoid being disappointed as we did, it will make me feel good. By the same token, I hope this rings a bell to the Management and maybe force them to take notice and make the necessary adjustments.
Locations dont come much better than this for views of the marina - I could near enough touch the super yachts from my balcony. The hotel is on the Western side of Monaco so a little way from the nightlife and casino etc. The suite I had was spacious with a good bathroom, functional kitchen and nice lounge. The only negatives were the TV was a bit small for the room (no UK channels) and the decor is a little bit dated. Suite was very clean and tidy and the staff were polite and helpful. I will certainly stay again.
We stayed in this hotel as a group to celebrate the 60th birthday of a friend. The staff were friendly, but not all spoke sufficient English. The rooms are clean, large and comfortable, but the beds are extremely hard. The location is fantastic: Immediately at the waterfront and in walking distance from the beach, old city and bus stop. The hotel has a very nice pool and gym. We payed a bit less than 200 Euro per night for a suite for 4, which had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 WC and a living room with kitchen and a large balcony with view on the sea. I would definitively go there again.
Positive points: great location, having kitchen in your room was convenient Negative: internet was horrible and was cut after 23:00 and before 7AM, the man at the reception was very rude (ladies were more friendly), room was not very clean, bed was not comfortable. Overall conditions of the room is poor
I have booked a room through Booking.com for 5 days for a cost of 1600 eur (!!!) the only one available unfortunately for those dates. Due to unexpected events I had to cancel my stay 24 hours before. I called the hotel before doing that so I can see if I can get total or part reimbursed and they asked me to cancel my booking with booking.com as soon as possible and that they will pass on my reimbursement request to the management to maybe reimburse me at least for 3 days out of 5. After 3 days they told me that they can't reimburse me because I haven't cancelled 48 h before arrival. I called the manager of the hotel but she told me that's the policy that I have agreed on, which is true but then they should've told me that when I asked if I cancel would I get my money back??? The only reason they gave me hope on getting reimbursed was so I can cancel my booking with booking.com so they can resell the room again. I wouldn't book this hotel ever again or use booking.com. Regards, Mira Lemak
This hotel is located in a great location overlooking some fabulous boats in the port with room looking out directly on to the port. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and pleasant throughout our stay. The rooms however need some attention. They are a great size but decor is very dated and bathroom could have been cleaner, was bit of Mould in the corner seals and shower leaked through the wall in to the lobby area of the room.
I spent 2 nights with my husband and son in Le Quai des princes last week. This is one of the worst hotels we've stayed in. It is in need of a desperate renovation. The room was not clean, even after requesting room service and towels on the rack (supposedly clean and new) were dirty with a shewing gum on one of them!!! Almost no wifi! You have to call the reception to reboot the router every now and then.
Food: Bad and poor no variety Staff: friendly and helpful Nice view in the room Bed NOT comfortable Not to far from the center... no mini bar!! Swimming pool is too small Not to much clean... wifi is so bad.....
We were booked here for 1 night before going on a cruise. Considering the cost of the cruise we felt very disappointed with the hotel choice the cruise company booked us. We checked in ok and were shown to our ground floor apartment and our friends were also in a ground floor apartment. The apartments were very dated , and the bathroom had a huge bath but you had to step down into it which was quite difficult with nothing to hold on too. The bed was very low but fairly comfortable. The only good thing about this place was the view from our room overlooking the Marina and also the pool on the roof of the building. Breakfast was an extra charge and didn't look that great so we went to a neighbouring hotel and paid for breakfast. The hotel did have free wifi. Both our friends room and our room had problems with the locks on the patio doors which the staff didn't seem that bothered about, hence we never left anything of value in the room. We would not recommend this hotel.
