Fairmont Monte Carlo4.0 out of 5.0

This is an excellent hotel with splendid service, excellent food and a great location. The Big Negative is that they allow smoking in the rooms. The view of the harbor is wonderful, and the restaurants shre this view.
We stayed here for a week with friends and loved the location & the common area's (eg the restaurants, bars, shops, lobby). However we were shocked to realise that as hotel guests we were required to pay for a sun lounger or sun bed on the hotel rooftop pool area! The daily breakfast included was great and we enjoyed our stay but the inside of the hotel needs updating. Rooms were fine but hallways need a re-paint, new wall paper and new carpet. Not quiet what I was expecting in a 5 star Monte Carlo hotel. Overall pretty good experience but several things for the hotel to improve upon, especially given the price.
We recently stayed at the Fairmont in Monte Carlo and were very disappointed. Although the view from the room was spectacular, when you turned around the view was far less than spectacular (maybe adequate)... the room was old fashioned and worn. A particular annoyance was the electrical outlet situation where all off the electrical outlets were behind furniture. Modern hotel rooms have lots of electrical outlets easily accessible due to cell phones and ipads. This one did not. Another notable negative was the price of food in the restaurants ... 22 Euros for a cup of coffee??? Breakfasts were excellent!!
Not great experience and not good value for your money, rooms are smell and not clean, old style. I believe the hotel facilities such restaurants and other are ok but the rooms on level 1 are not that great and old.
We spent a weekend at The Fairmont Monte Carlo and had a fabulous time in a sea view room. The hotel is perfectly located in front of the harbour and is 1 minute from Casino Square. The room was comfortable clean and spacious with a balcony and beautiful view. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable I've slept in. Breakfast is taken on the top floor and was delicious. The pool area at Nikki beach is lovely and a perfect location to relax. Staff at the hotel entrance were great and I give a special thanks to Frank who helped me with motorcycle parking advice. Front desk reception staff were friendly and polite, but check-in was very slow for some reason. At breakfast we found the hostess who registers you and then arranges to take you to your table a little slow and seemed a little arrogant by ignoring us and chatting to her colleague whilst we and other people were waiting to be seated. All other staff in the hotel were extremely friendly and polite. I did noticed a few days afterwards that my credit card was charged for minibar items that we did not use. I wrote to the hotel to complain and the matter was resolved after a few emails. Overall this is a fantastic hotel and I will definitely stay here again when next in Monte Carlo. A few minor issues need to be resolved hence my 4 stars rather than 5.
The Fairmont has the best location and the staff are extremely helpful, kind and polite. All 3 restaurants are excellent and quality of the food is amazing. The rooms are clean, comfortable and every attention is given to supplying every need. Best nights sleep in years. My second visit to the Fairmont and shan't hesitate is going again!
The location is really good. Prices are as good as you will get for Monte Carlo. Service was good. The hotel needs to get an up lift. Rooms are very big. But need to be renovated. Parking charge for over night a bit expensive. 60€.
last minute booking as a treat. and what a place !! wonderful hotel fab location. rooms are so beautiful with ocean views second to none. a little heavy on price but nice for a treat. we ate in rooftop restaurant also and it's was fantastic. the service and view alone worth the money. breakfast also in same restaurant so views early morning are special.
This is your hotel of choice for luxury, comfort, splendid roof top pool bar, dining and sleeping when in Monaco. The staff are first class, fluent in many languages and extremely helpful and discreet.
Reception staff Ivan was not helpful and ruined our stay he put us in the furthest room from the lifts and was reeking of cigarettes. (my husband and I are both in our sixties) the porter managed to get us room nearer to the lifts 5 minutes later. Will never return to the Fairmont hotel.
