This was our first stay in Monte-Carlo and we loved this hotel. It's in a quieter location which loved, just opposite Princess Grace gardens, and has smaller more affordable restaurants nearby. A free shuttle bus service will take you into the centre of Monte-Carlo and collect you. The staff here are really helpful and friendly - we've travelled all over the world and have to say the staff here are a shining example. Patrick was great but so were all the staff. Renovations are almost complete and the hotel is looking fab. Gerhards bar in the small harbour at the back of the Hotel is a must for drinks and food.

Fabulous room with a great balcony, overlooking the fragrant Princess Grace rose garden. We stayed for one week. Lovely, helpful staff both at the door and at check-in desk. Unfortunately, we did not take the opportunity to eat at the hotel as we were out and about. To the rear of the hotel is a beautiful shared pool area, but this was not open when we visited in March 2017, as we were just a little too early for the season. The hotel is not located in the heart of Monte Carlo, just on the outskirts, Fontvielle, but on an excellent bus service route if required, not always necessary as you can stroll into the centre of Monte Carlo via the shopping centre, (which closes on Sunday!) Just a short walk around to the most beautiful Marina surrounded by restaurants and bars. Highly recommend Hotel Columbus Monte Carlo.

Didn’t know what to expect on this last minute booked hotel 3 stars is not usually my sort of hotel. But as a British airways holiday I took the plunge. Arrived and there was major work going on and many areas closed including the ground floor lift. Wasn’t expecting much as I said and dreaded having to climb the stairs. Was informed we were on the 8th floor I was horrified only to find out that not only would concierge take our bags up but there was actually a lift at the top of the stairs. I’m not sure how the hotel manage very disabled guests at this time and would urge anyone with mobility problems to contact them before booking to ensure comfort. Now the room I booked was the superior. At a fraction of their usual rates I was not expecting much. Wow!!! We were upgraded to a sea view. Magnificent!!! The room had a balcony overlooking the sea and the grounds. The room was compact with only one chair but two chairs and a table on the balcony. Everything you need us there and a very well stocked mini bar which we could splash out on our first day because of the bargain price we paid. Room was clean and bathroom bright and spacious new decor and carpets. Staff in this hotel are fantastically helpful and welcoming. Once we settled we went out in search of transport and supermarkets. We like plenty of water and snacks. Literally on the doorstep (well only a short stroll) is a large supermarket where we went the whole hog and stocked up on champagne and treats for our relaxing evenings on the balcony watching the sun set. The tour bus stops just by the roundabout. The bus number 6 goes to various destinations around the island. There’s a river bus in the main marina which is great. Because of mobility problems I can’t walk very far so we used the tour bus for two days £25 each hop on and off and does all the attractions. If you are mobile you can walk the whole of Monaco it really isn’t that far. Advice minimum fare is €15 so a trip literally round the corner we discovered cost us €30 to visit supermarket! (We newbies)! Taxi to and from the airport booked online £75 each way through jamster. I was happy with that travelled in style in a gorgeous merc! There’s a great little harbour next to the hotel with some lovely restaurants however you’ll need deep pockets to eat there we paid €120 for a two course meal and a bottle of house white. Nice meal though. We had a ceaser salad from the supermarket €5 the night before with wine €7 and it was superb. We didn’t use the room service in the hotel but the breakfast was amazing and was included in our room rate. Such a vast variety of breakfast food my favourite being boil your own fresh egg and make your own toast. The waiting staff are excellent. The only thing I’d like the hotel to improve is a decent resturant facility on par with local restaurants with a variety of foods not just Italian snacks. I hope this will come with the improvements. Because of the price we paid I would give this hotel six stars. If all the works were completed and there were more facilities available and a larger onsite formal resturant or at least a wider variety of food for lunch and dinner and I paid full price I would rate the hotel a 4star. Not 3star. Maybe this is the rating in Monaco but as a worldwide traveller the Columbus is in my opinion 4 star hotel and I would gladly pay full price. Thank you Columbus and all the staff for making our stay a memorable one. We would definately return in warmer weather.

Had a wonderful long weekend at this lovely which is centrally situated in this lovely principality. From the hotel it was easy to travel around, pick up the local bus, or walk. You can't really get lost, and people are very friendly and helpful. We walked to the Palace from the hotel to see the changing of the guards; see the final resting place of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier within a beautiful church. A short walk to what was the largest aquarium was a delight. Gorgeous restaurants serving inexpensive lunches littered the marina, and we spent our last day at a family run restaurant a few minutes from the hotel. The concierge were delightful and so helpful. With the helicopter transfer to Nice just a few minutes away, it was a perfect end to our special mother/daughter annual jaunt.

I feel so lucky to have found this place. I was looking for a quick break with my friend and this popped up with a good deal. We saw it was a little outside of central Monte Carlo, but didn't find this to be a problem at all when we were there. You can walk to the casino in about half an hour (casino was not worth it in my opinion!), but there are buses running regularly too (and taxis of course which the reception can help with). Loads to see in the area. The hotel is very nice, with beautiful gardens to roam around or look at from the window. The pool is easy to get to and perfectly suitable for a couple of days. The lounge with coffee machine was a nice touch too. Rooms were very clean and a good size. We bought lunch in the supermarket one day and ate on our balcony, watching the world go by. Really enjoyed staying here and would happily do so again.

No, this wasnt right on the Monaco Grand Prix circuit but in the neighbouring Fontvielle district which is a quiet classy area adjacent to the Princess Grace gardens... Yes, the hotel is undergoing reburbishment and there will be noise during week days but who stays in their hotel room during the day anyway! We stayed on the 8th floor in a refurbished room overlooking a small bay which was very comfortable. Only very minor gripe is there was no coffee in the complimentary tea/coffee that was in your room, nor milk - note for staff at Columbus and this is the reason you lost an excellent review from us! There was plenty of choice of breakfast - scrambled eggs, bacon, different pastries/bread and fresh fruit, cheeses and hams plus crepes - spot on! Coffee was from a machine but absolutely fine. They were open at 6.30am, handy for when you are leaving early for trains, planes etc.... The staff were lovely - very understanding of my pigeon french (they resorted to english but I think appreciated my attempts at their language!) and very helpful. The property is a stones throw from the Monaco FC stadium so if you like to watch a bit of football yes, we did go and although not a football fan, i sort of enjoyed it! The heliport is also very close by if you are flush enough to get the helicopter from Nice airport (about a 7 minute journey and circa 160 euros when we visited - no we didnt try it). We got there via train from Nice (fine once you find the train station - Nice airport is currently undergoing a transformation) and then a short bus ride on the number 4 or number 6. The buses were useful to get across to the main marina in Monte Carlo plus Casinos etc but the walk is pleasant. A 24 hour pass is useful if you plan to travel about a bit to see all the areas. All in all a good place for a short break - reasonable price certainly at this time of year and would return if we visit again.

Visited 2015 and loved it! Planning to visit again this June and interested to see the hotel post refurb. This time we will have our 1 year old with us also. Cant wait to be sat in Fonteville harbor looking out to sea again!

Excellent spacious room with a balcony, plenty of space, all you need for an excellent stay. Check-in took longer but everything fine there, nice lobby area, would have been nicer if there was a bar on the spot. Hotel is perfectly located in Fontvieille and is on a walking distance from all the major attractions. Free shuttle also available. Also trendy restaurants and cafés along the harbor line. Would definitely stay again.

Really good location, with a lot of different restaurants around and tourist attractions. Staff was really gentle, especially concierge. The hotel is new and I would recommend a lot to stay there! They have also a shuttle, but I didn’t used because was well located.

In a good location in relation to restaurants but is about a 20 minute walk from Monte-Carlo. We really enjoyed our stay here! The beds were super comfy and the staff were very welcoming and friendly.
