We were pleasantly surprised with Balcon del mar, really clean,spacious, everything you need for self catering.pool bar was lovely, shop for basics on site. Laundry services.heated and non heated pool. Staff were lovely. Max 10 min walk to Europa centre .Taxi ride down to the commercial centre, depending on route down 7-11 euro,Very high up on the Amadores side of peurto rico.

Very clean receptionist very helpful on arrival WiFi ok but €24 a week safe the same but very awkward as safe boxes are located in a bank system in the reception safes should be available in your room not in reception, overall hotel very clean pool bar food ok and not over priced good location for getting about plenty of lifts , do not feed the cats Scandinavia guests feeding the feral cats causing around 20. Cats meowing all night for food big problem at moment in gran canaria ,small supermarket shop by reception ideal for basics , would definitely stay here again but would like a bit of uk tv for news etc all 4 channels spanish ,

Highly recommend these excellent value apartments

Great large spotlessly clean 2 bedroom apartment at a very reasonable price. Whilst the location is right at the top of the resort it’s a virtually flat 5 minutes walk to the Europa Center with supermarkets, bars and restaurants and a 15 minute downhill walk to the beautiful Amadores beach. Taxis are cheap and plentiful. I would definitely choose these again.

The only problem we had was a very hard mattress on bed in 2nd bedroom. Mentioned it to the reception and it was changed within half an hour. Excellent service and nothing seems to be a problem.

Spacious apartments

Another nice stay at the Balcon although it wasn't as friendly as the last time. The apartment was cleaned most days although sheets aren't changed unless you stay more than a week. We had issues with our door not locking, turns out the batteries in the door system ran out which meant our apartment was left unlocked unknown to us. Was fixed quickly although failed a second time meaning we couldn't get in. Asked for a late check out but was told we'd have to pay €25 even though there was no-one else checking in or out that day. They could have been a little more understanding here considering the issues we had. Pool area was really quiet but we took advantage of happy hour at 3.30 each day - 2 beers for the price of 1 and nice icy cold glasses. Would go back again, but think the place could do with a wee spruce up. Also, no air con which wasn't as bad in April as it was in October.

On top of the hill, Only a 5 minute walk if that to the Europa centre with bars, shops, restraunts etc. We had a 2 bedroom apartment, plenty of room, beds comfortable. Bathroom a good size. Big balcony. Kitchen ok for making light meals and snacks. Tv was available for no extra charge. No aircon in our apartment but it wasn't needed at this time of year. Cleanliness was good. 2 pools with one heated, 2 splash pools & pool bar. Lovely views. We as a family absolutely loved these apartments, no loud music, no lager louts! Just a lovely chilled week in the sun. Mainly Scandinavian guests, couples and families. Would definitely return.

Smashing big rooms

We’ve stayed at the Balcon 3 times now (last 2 times 6/7 years ago). The rooms are spacious and the balconys are huge. It was very quiet so we literally had the pool to ourselves and no need for 7am sun bed nonsense. Good drinks at bar and happy hours - 2 beers for €3.30. Only thing to moan about is the lack of air conditioning. We were there October and it was only just bearable. I would think in peak time it would be far to hot. staff were friendly. Towels changed regularly and rooms cleaned almost every day. Poor area was cleaned every day. Close to the Europa centre for shops, bars and restaurants and only €3.80 for a taxi into Puerto Rico. Missed being all inclusive this holiday, but the food at the bar and surrounding areas was great.

Lovely March break

Apartments were clean and well equipped even had washing up liquid and a non stick pan still sporting the non stick surface. The mugs were also a nice touch so you could have a full sized brew!! Could have done with something to cook in the microwave with but all in all very good only minus was needing your own hairdryer which I knew beforehand as I emailed the hotel prior to departure. The German lady on reception don't know her name, was lovely really helpful, friendly and always happy. Would go back tomorrow..

First time we have stayed in this complex and I can highly recommend it. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped apartment. Good views towards Tenereiffe and over Amadores. Only downside is no sun on balcony until late afternoon but this would not stop us returning.

We stayed in Dec. Unfortunately the sun didn't "arrive' at the hotel terrace until mid afternoon and never made the apartment balconys. Very clean and reasonable views (some rooms better than others) Realistic walk time to the beach (Playa Amadores) is 30 min with a very steep return walk (excellent phys to work up a thirst!) but taxis are plentiful and cheap( €4 ). Slight disappointment was the extra charges at the hotel - TV, WiFi, hairdryer, parking, security box were all additional. Staff were excellent including the pool bar. Apartments were large and spacious and a nice touch in self catering was a tea towel and washing up liquid! Europa shopping centre 5 min walk.

Zeer schoon Appartement met uitzicht op de zee met zonsondergang vanaf het balkon. Alles is in de buurt op loop afstand maar je zit wel in een rustig gedeelte. Wij vonden dat echt ideaal.

Rolig og fint - kort avstand til restauranter

Fint opphold for familen. Rolig og trygg plass hvor ungene kunne løpe fritt, vi kunne se dem fra terrassen. Eneste var at vannet i begge bassengene var litt kaldt og at en ikke får morra sola på terrassen. Ellers bra plass i nærheten av shoppingsenter, med dagligvarer og restauranter
