Kendal, also known as the gateway to the Lakes, has a super selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Its cobbled streets are dotted with cafés for al fresco dining or afternoon tea. The Crooklands Hotel across the road offers bar meals and an a la carte menu in their glass roofed ’Jules’ restaurant, so you won’t even need a taxi home at the end of the night. Perfect!

Well furnished and comfortable.

Well furnished and comfortable. A welcoming bottle of Prosecco was a nice touch and appreciated, as was tea, coffee, etc. Being on the doorstep of the Crooklands Hotel, with its drinks and food was an excellent bonus. Not a criticism but be advised that although cosy it is small. Great for a short stay and a base which allowed us to really enjoy the Lakes.
