Stayed here again for a few days last week, thoroughly enjoyed as usual. We prefer to have a room on the ground floor, as we find it more convenient than climbing the stairs. Usual standard of cleanliness, the room had everything we needed, bed very comfortable. Lady on reception helpful and friendly. I always find it amazing that given the hotels proximity to the bustling village centre it has such a peaceful feeling. We'll be back again soon. Can't wait!
Absolutely fantastic little hidden gem. Authentic Andalusian style. Perfect decor clean extremely comfortable. (Slept for hours ). Right in middle of Mijas tucked away behind a bar (hard to find). Fridge was stocked with drinks at reasonable prices. Nothing needed to improve the accommodation. Bravo to the owners for having such a lovely place . Will definitely return .
Absolutely lovely little establishment. Had a glorious 4 day break and did not want to leave. The place is utterly spotless, bathroom and facilities were fantastic. Great views from the top floor balcony. Already booked up for next year, and will hopefully be back sooner if possible!! Thank you
We arrived late in very windy weather. It took us a little time to find the hotel and a little bit of hassle to get in (there's a machine you type your booking confirmation in to unlock the door but our code didn't work ) but when we got in our room key had been left out for us. Rooms clean and nicely decorated .. excellent value for money and glad to see a mini bar with a good selection as it was late and streets empty due to wind storm. Bathroom again nicely decorated and good shower.. much more than expected for the money. Very calm and quiet and comfortable beds. Mijas is a small white village which is pretty, bit of a shame room doesn't have a better view.. and would have been perfect if there was a space to sit and enjoy the sun on the balcony.. but saying that I was very happy with what I got for such a reasonable price. We only saw the owner when checking out, she was lovely and friendly
We booked this hotel online after reading some of the great reviews and have to say we were not disappointed in any way. We arrived at 1:30am and pressed the buzzer and were let into the hotel where our keys were waiting at reception. The room was spotless and in the morning when we open our doors to the balcony we were greeted with an amazing view. The lady at reception was always friendly and we were just left to get on with our holiday. Mijas is an amazing place but thanks to the hotel it was made even better.
Having been to the area lists of time previously I was returning to sho an American friend around so wanted a 2 night stay somewhere authentic. I chose this hostel in Mijas village based on the price and pictures from expedia. I've not been disappointed, really liked the room which had a balcony. A few more pillow options would have been nice but that's my only suggestion to improve. You do have to park your car in the local car park for €1for 24 hrs but so does everyone, locals included. I'd stay here again for sure.
nice and very calme, clean and confortable bed.nice staff in the center of the village. relaxing, ideal for the week end. restaurants .post office and chop very close and very clean .and big room. we had a good time
Despite the description of Hostal Rural El Escudo de Mijas which could give the impression that the hostal is either primitive, or isolated, or both, El Escudo is right in the middle of Mijas, though down a short dead end street which gives it a surprisingly quiet setting only a few steps from the central plazas and many stores, bars, and restaurants. The accommodations are also very well equipped and with good bathrooms and beds. The town has many Mirador and several very good golf courses nearby.
My wife and I visited Mijas Pueblo a few days ago and just had to advise what a beautiful Andalucian white village it is. We stayed in an extremely clean and well presented Hostel although why it is called a Hostel we are unsure as it should be a 2* class Hotel. Whilst there is no bar restaurant there are numerous restaurants a short distance away. The Hostel is ideally located right in the centre of town but due to this there is no parking facility on site and due to the towns popularity in the holiday season this may be a problem to those with mobility issues as are the steps leading to the Hostel. Would totally recommend a stay at El Escudo de Mijas however as it's a lovely clean and comfortable Hotel ideally located in the centre of town...we paid €50 for a double room.
This is a very nice hotel , quiet with beautiful views and a lot of greenery ! Unfortunately , it rained both days that we spent in Mijas and this affected our stay in two ways : 1) rain was coming down from the roof in the corridor on the 2nd floor where we had our room and 2) when we came in , nobody came to answer at the door so we had to talk through the intercom and it took 5 minutes before the door was opened leaving some of us and our luggage under the rain for that period of time !
