The hotel is excellent in every way if one has to consider the rate. Rooms have minimum noise, high speed Wi-Fi and caring staff. Security at the gate amazing when attending to foreigners. Please consider fixing the online rate if I extend my stay on a visit.
Room- Clean, welcoming and secure People (employees)- very friendly and helpful The food (breakfast)- Delicious and sufficient also very healthy I loved the gift (candy) that I found in my room after a long day. It made my stay pleasant. The hotel is tidy, welcoming and offers impeccable services.
I stayed on night at this hotel on business and it is ok. The room is small but enough for me, bathroom is also too small. Air con wasn't working well and it does a lot of noise, carpet seems very old and dirty. The floor of my bathroom was dirty when I arrive with feet. Breakfast is the usual continental way, but don't expect to have napkins or someone to ask for it. Staff is not gentil, they talk like they are just doing a favor. Next time will pick other hotel.
My room was comfortable even though a tad on the small side, The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. Breakfast was superb and staff were great. In the Electronic day and age a extra plug or adaptor would have been great
We enjoyed a really nice night here. The hotel is clean, comfortable and in a secure location. All of the staff are very friendly and we really enjoyed the breakfast. There is a nice bar/restaurant next door and Bushlore 4x4 rental is just around the corner as well. Would happily recommend.
I have nothing against this hotel, but in my opinion they have real security issues. How come guest are assaulted in the hotel? Last night for example? We work with international organizations and two of my colleagues spent the night at the hospital. How come the same scheme happened before, and 3 of my colleagues have been asked to lay on the ground and the took all of their belongings right inside the building? In my opinion, you have to take all the required measures to protect your guests. Because, when it becomes a pattern, it is unacceptable. Who's the responsible? I will not give all the details here, because some people might think that I have something against Mercure. The thing is, the group has to make something about it now. How many international delegations or expats need to be assaulted before Mercure decides to react?
This is a cosy little hotel conveniently situated between Pretoria and Johannesburg. Access is easy to pretty much anywhere in Gauteng; and Gallagher Estate is just up the road. Not recommended for leisure as the immediate surroundings are rather drab and 'industrial.' Service and facilities are minimalist but good.
Stayed overnight on 22 Feb and was shocked at the standards of this hotel. They clearly do not have a smoking policy in place and the passage and I'm sure all the rooms stink of cigarettes. The carpets in the rooms are not clean and there is a continous smell of smoke in the room that obviously wafts in from the passage. No water provided in the rooms for guests. In room lighting poor and also fused bulbs. As a non smoker its impossible to have a good nights sleep in this hotel. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel to anybody.
the hotel is located around 30 minutes by car from the airport, rooms are big and clean, reception very friendly and helpful, breakfasts are rich and tasty, there is a small shopping centre with a supermarket within 10 minutes on foot
There are three things to bear in mind with this hotel, clean rooms, friendly staff and a hearty breakfast to eat. Although the surroundings of the hotel are not inspiring the hotel itself is very good. The room i stayed in was clean and fresh, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was also good. The staff keep the rooms spotless and when they have been in there is always smell of 'just been cleaned' something some hotels do not have. The staff are all friendly and helpful and the breakfast was a choice of cooked or cold (or indeed both). Although the hotel does not serve evening meals there are restaurants within 30 seconds of the gate. Would recommend this hotel highly.
