The only problem I had with this hotel was the noise level. The noise from the next room could be heard. You can hear people walking on the halls. It's nicely located next to restaurants... over good place to stay if you don't mind noise..
Early check in. Doorman parked the car and brought luggage to room. Upgraded the room. For the money, the best deal in zona rosa in Mexico cityu.
I absolutely loved this hotel! From its prime location to its friendly staff and comfortable, big, cozy room. Couldn't ask for a better hotel in such a great location for such a bargain. I couldn't believe how great the deal was when I walked into my room. When I booked I was expecting a run down, tired 3 star hotel in a sketchy area of the city but to my surprise it definitely proved me wrong! Thanks
It was a nice-sized suite, with a separate proper living room. I found it a bit far to walk to the places I needed to get to. A bit out of the way. The street is quite busy, I had expected it to be in a quiet area. Overall, ok.
Excellent location, fine hotel, near everything, restaurants, tourist locatins. Room very spacious, clean, good customer service. Only one problem with WiFi during my visit. Evnthough it was a business trip, the hotel was near my meetings site.
I had a great stay at Suites del Angel. My suite was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Nice king-sized bed was very comfortable and had high-quality linens. Very modern bathroom and kitchen-area; obviously recently renovated. Everything was fine. Only complaint was that internet was occasionally spotty. Great restaurants in the area! I would be happy to stay at this hotel again.
The hotel was excellent and greatly exceeded my expectations. I am not sure why so many review below are negative, but I loved the place. I would like to stay there longer. It is very well located, near restaurants, taco stands, but the rooms are nice and quiet. The decor is Ikea Chic, which is refreshing in Mexico City where most hotels are dated and colonially stuffy. The staff were very nice, and spoke English well. The room was fantastic. It was nicer than the Four Seasons in Vancouver, and a quarter the price. The lobby may be a bit small, and there are no hotel amenities to speak of, but the room is excellent, the water pressure great. Not sure what more I could ask for, especially given the price.
it is in the good place, good room in this price. We can cook in the room. Very near the USA Embassy.
The hotel is a 3 min walk to the Angel of independence. Close to many restaurants (if you like the tourist deals). Room was nice and big. Plenty of room to stretch out. I didn’t have a clock radio like it said I would though, but it didn’t bother me because I was on vacation! Who needs to know the time? Also, I didn’t have a balcony (probably because only those who book direct get “special treatment”). The room I had looked exactly like the ones in the pics w/the brown furniture and white and brown linens (without the flowers, of course). Cons: the fridge and the phone didn’t work. And thin walls… all in all I recommend a stay here and I'd book again. It’s not like staying @ the Sheraton w/all the amenities, but for the size and price, it beats it. Hands down.
Maybe things would improve in a long stay, but when we arrived the fridge was disconnected, so we could not use it. Next morning we found the shower did not work, so we had to hand-wash ourselves at the tub, which it was dirty.
I stayed at Suites Del Angel for 9 days from 12/30/12-1/8/13 and it was by far the worst Hotel I have ever stayed in. We arrived on 12/30/12 at 11:00PM, tired from a very long trip and arrived to the hotel that had no parking available and absolutely no one to help with our luggage. In the afternoon/evening the hotel is left in the hands of a security officer, which was sleeping when we arrived. The elevator was out of order and my husband was forced to carry our luggage to the fourth floor. It was an absolute disaster of a hotel. Upon arriving to our hotel room, we had no running water to shower and when we called the reception the security officer was unable to assist with that either. The next morning we spoke to the administrator and he apologized and gave us another room. We were assigned room 402 and all of our belongings were taken to the wrong room! When we arrived at room 402 after going out for breakfast, we noticed that our belongings were missing because they had been taken to the wrong room. Again we spoke with the administrator, who again apologized, and had our belongings taken to the correct room. The housekeeping was another issue! The house keepers ONLY do housekeeping on their schedules! God forbid you need to rest a little longer in the morning or have an activity scheduled in the afternoon you will NOT get your room cleaned! It is ONLY on their time. Another issue we experienced at this hotel was an increasingly overwhelming odor coming from the bathroom drain system. Once again I spoke with the administrator and he sent a 16 year old boy to add clorox to the drain! The elevator was not fixed until 1/7/13, one day before we were scheduled to leave. We spent our entire stay climbing four flights of stairs and hauling tons of things. The ONLY reason we did not leave this hotel was because all the hotels in the area were booked due to the holidays! NOT A GOOD HOTEL!!!
This was my second- and last- stay at this hotel. They checked me into a room which appeared to be clean, but I soon learned that the phone did not work, the safe was locked shut, the bathroom was not supplied properly and worst of all, the bed had been made but the sheets were not changed after the previous guest left. I was moved to a second room the next day and they did not record it, so it was not cleaned after I left in the morning. No one ever apologized nor was I given any credit. And by the way, forget about accessing the Internet while you are there. There is no connectivity despite what they advertise.
it is ok. but the wireless internet is bad.
Attended a Gay wedding in Mexico City. Celebrated the Bicentenial of Mexican Independence. This hotel is great place to stay. It is right near the American Embassy and Paseo de la Reforma and Angel. The artsy neighborhood of Amberes is within walking distance with all it's night-life. The hotel is situated in an upscale neighborhood with many different types of restaurants. Although, I spoke Spanish to the hotel staff, I heard them speak in fluent English to other guests. Except for the ugly orange colored funiture in the living room (so 90's) this hotel is equivalent in service to a 5 star one. The rooms and closet space are emence. I would go back and I do recommend it to everone who asks me about a good place to stay in Mexico City.
The rooms are spacious and clean. The room had a few minor areas that needed maintenance (like a crooked cabinet door, etc), but nothing major. The location is excellent, right in the zona rosa area. I prepaid for the room through [...], but when I checked in I was asked to sign a voucher authorizing them to charge Pesos $500 (USD $42) to my credit card for incidentals. I was very annoyed by this requirement since every other hotel just simply requests an imprint of your card. I protested it, and after a long discussion, they removed the charge.
This is one of the hidden gems of the city. It's a block or 2 to Zona Rosa minus the traffic. Late night taco stand is open just around the corner. Staff in general are pleasant but only a few could converse in some English. The door slams by itself in the bedroom. The bathroom has a jacuzzi but water is slow to fill the tub. Made arrangement for a late check out the day before and found out my room has been locked out when I came back from a short trip on the last day. Obviously, no communication existed between the late nite staff and am staff.
No towels. Wall electrical sockets don't work. They charge 25 pesos for a small bottle of drinking water. It's illegal for a hotel not to supply drinking water if the tap water is not potable. Had to go out to OXXO to buy drinking water. Hotel taxi charged double what a regular cab cost to get to business meeting and took double the time it took to return in a registered cab. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
It´s a nice hotel to stay
This was a very good small hotel a total of 40 room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean. The stairs need some cleaning up.Over all this was a nice place to stay.It is a very safe place to stay. You have lots of cafes all down the street. When I go back to Mexico City I will probable stay there again.
This was my fourth stay at the Suites del Angel and I plan to stay here again when next in Mexico City.
