Las Alcobas, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Mexico City5.0 out of 5.0

Las Alcobas is a treasure behind a subtle facade. Behind a very unassuming face on a street riddled with fashionable shopping, graceful Jacarandas, and a world of good eating all around, lies a quiet gem exuding graciousness and fine living. We could not have been happier for four nights in a room beautifully detailed and appointed. Our first impression was influenced by the hotel noting that we were in the City for my birthday. A lighted cake and the entire front desk arrived to the room with 'Happy Birthday to you!" And then. . . treats abound in the mini bar and are complimentary (save the liquor) ;more towels than your usual European oriented hotel; and a shower that is worth an all afternoon stay sets this hotel above others. The entire property is beautifully designed and executed. The surroundings are all quality; the flowers extravagant; the food presentation exceptional. Las Alcobas can be most proud of its quality service from the Concierge to the cleaning staff. A smile is never absent, and the attitudes gracious, friendly, helpful, and charming. We highly recommend this small intimate and gracious hotel!!
It is not a hotel that flashes up obviously as you pass by it - but the location, the rooms, the staff are all top notch. Very comfortable rooms, staff very friendly and ever ready to tailor anything to your requirements. And it is situated in Polanco, which is a lovely neighbourhood, with lots of different restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk. Loved our stay and will certainly look to be back if we visit Mexico City again.
We have stayed in many wonderful hotels all over the world and Las Alcobas ranks with the very best. We were attracted by the hotel’s location, style, and many great reviews, but what made our four day stay memorable was the staff. Everyone, from the general manager to the doorman, was helpful, attentive, gracious and committed to ensuring that our stay was as comfortable as possible. They exceeded our expectations and we were thrilled. I highly recommend this hotel.
Serious service! So enjoyed our stay here. The room was spacious, pristine and well equipped. We wanted to go to a luchadores fight and they escorted me to Ticketmaster to make sure I would have no trouble with the language barrier. On the topic of luchadores matches you should opt for the smaller venue at Coliseum Arena which is on Saturday, this is where the locals go - great fun! The area of Palanco is a beautiful neighborhood lined with high end shops but you can still find local jems. Check out St. Augustine of Palanco Church, the simplicity of this church is breathtaking. Be sure to see the small chapel in the eves of the church. The park behind the hotel is full of families on the weekend just chillin. Great stay !
"Claro que si" was the answer to every request I made across a 4-night stay. Pack a picnic for a 6:00 am departure? Claro que si. Book a last minute tour? Claro que si. It's as if the hotel wants you to put them to the test so that they may provide great service.
If one has never been to Mexico City before, this hotel is clearly a hidden gem within the lush greenery avenue of luxury shopping. The hotel is part of the Starwood luxury collection. The location is compelling with luxury brands lining both sides and ends of this street. In addition, a good selection of upmarket restaurants are located here such as the famous Nobu which is just 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Experience on check in was superb as usual. Do not expect a grande lobby or lofty ceilings. This hotel is very unassuming with a relatively small and residential check in areas and a small comfortable waiting area. Staff are ever helpful. I had a very nice upgrade to a penthouse suite that comes with a convenient living room connected to a outdoor balcony. The decor is slightl;y on the side of a ant garde with a local taste. The only downside of the suite is the lack of ample lighting which made it difficult for business works in the evening especially when one needs to pour over many documents. Otherwise, I would recommend this hotel to any travelers that seeks a unique form of privacy and decor.
This boutique hotel is extremely well located at Polanco, near restaurants and in an upscale shopping area. The rooms are pleasant, the bathroom has a great rain shower and service is attentive and friendly. The hotel restaurant is fabulous for a meal any time of the day. There is a small gym and a spa. Unlike all the other hotels in the area, all big and sterile like. The Alcobas has a colonial/romantic feeling to it, but it belongs to IHG, so you can still earn miles when you stay there.
Modern property, good location close to restaurantes and luxury stores. The service was great and the staff was helpful and attentive ! In the room the bed was comfortable and the bathroom with hydro massage great. Also the spa is ok.
We stayed three nights at Las Alcobas. It is a beautiful hotel in the best location in Polanco. Our room was spacious and clean with lots of room for unpacking. The bed was extremely comfortable. We felt very welcome from the moment we entered the hotel. Once we got to our room, they had welcome drinks waiting for us with an attendant ready to explain the intricacies of our room. They offered complimentary sodas and snacks every day, which was always a treat. The hotel is easy walking distance to the many restaurants that the Polanco has to offer. We would definitely stay here again should our travels send us to Mexico City. If you are going to be here, you should stay at this lively hotel.
Las Alcobas is a luxury boutique hotel in the upscale Polanco neighborhood of Mexico City. In a sprawling city that is close to 600 square miles, the Polanco hood felt safe and was very convenient for museums, shopping and eating. Las Alcobas is only six years old and was a truly lovely hotel with gleaming wooden staircases and huge colorful flower arrangements. Some of this review is colored by the strong American dollar to peso rate. Our room without a view (our only regret) was $300 US but included a free breakfast. The rooms are very high tech with everything from climate to drapes and lighting controlled by a touch screen device on the bed side table. You are assigned a butler when you check in (a first for us) who takes care of any needs you might have. Soft drinks, bottled waters, and snacks are provided free of charge. One night we decided to have a drink in the room, instead of the little airplane sized liquor bottles the tequila came in a bottle that served us four drinks. The shock was checking the price and realizing that the bottle was less than $9! As others have noted the hotel is in a great location just minutes from
