This is indeed one of the rare places where completely everything is done well. This is extremely nice, clean and comfortable boutique hotel, which has indeed a really exceptional service beyond any possible expectation. Thanks to hotels exceptional concierge team headed by Aaron -the head concierge we had three exceptional tours around Mexico City and to Teotihuacan. All recommended and booked restaurants were excellent, any request was followed with exceptional attention. They even shipped for us to UK some artworks that we bought. Hotel also has two exceptional restaurants with truly excellent cooking and service, with variety of choices for breakfast and dinner. The location is also by any means excellent-in the very prestigious and which is important in Mexico City safe district of Palenque, close to most of the museums and sights. To me this is clearly the best hotel in Mexico and definitely one of the very best hotels in the world in terms of service.
I stayed at Las Alcobas about two months ago (during Halloween/Dia de los Muertos) and am writing a review now because I felt it couldn't go unsaid just how wonderful this hotel was. I had a room with two queen beds in which we had 3 people staying. The hotel emailed me to find out guest names and even made sure that there were three robes and three pairs of slippers for each guest in the room! The welcome drink was fantastic. The shower is UNREAL - basically the best shower I've ever been in. The front desk was so accomodating. They don't charge for snacks within the minibar. Basically they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and at home and like you will enjoy your stay. The location in Polanco is also wonderful. Though the hotel is on a busy road there are lovely walks nearby and the hotel itself was never loud due to street noise. When I go back to Mexico City I want to stay at Las Alcobas.
This Starwood Luxury hotel stands out on service. The many staff are eager to help. The hotel itself is very comfortable. Rooms were quiet despite being on a fairly busy street. Bedding and bathroom were both very comfortable. We ate two meals in the restaurant and both were excellent. One minor draw back – the gym is very small. Another important feature of this hotel is the neighborhood, which has a large number of restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops and bars, as well as high end shopping. The hotel is a 20 minutes walk to both the Soumaya and Jumex art museums to the north, and about the same to the Chapultepec Park, home of the world famous Anthropology Museum and the Modern Art Museum. I highly recommend Las Alcobas.
In my humble opinion the best room setting in Mexico City. Perfect illumination, decoration, top quality bed and bed linings, shower, etc, etc. Hotel does not have many amenities but perfect for business if you want to spend a comfy night. And in a great location!
Very pleased to receive a free upgrade on arrival and stayed 4 nights for price of 3 deal. Very attentive staff and lovely quiet room. View across the city spoilt by dirty windows (inside sealed double glazing) but kept out majority of street noise. Bed huge and comfortable but light control system slow and annoying. Bathroom very nice with fantastic shower but you have to get room service to come up and turn on the hydra bath for some reason - couldn’t be bothered. Last day before checkout minibar not restocked and dirty glasses left which was poor service — sure if I’d complained they would have sorted but late in the evening.
All has been said in many of the reviews. Simply outstanding accommodating hospitality without intrusion. Gentle and nice, adaptive to guests always. I loved the BOSE system in the room, perfect to have your own music playing. One thing to improve is loudspeaker in the bathroom, poor sound, change it. Read many reviews they say the beds are too soft. Totally agree, good to know you can get it changed. Suggest you mention this at check in or when u show the room facilities. Simply pamper yourselves to top notch hospitals, book here.
Top service, top decor, top linens, top amenities, top design, top products. This place is top luxury hotel in the center of Mexico city. Very few hotels come close to this level of timeless luxury. Absolute perfection!
Very friendly hotel staff. Umbrellas at the ready when a drop of rain appears. The electronic controls for the lighting curtains etc required a bit of learning but were very sophisticated. The classy hotel restaurant, duodenum patriarch, is an experience all to itself. The dessert served on dry ice was particularly impressive. We did full day tours so we weren't in the hotel during the day but it was a nice place to get back to. Loads of restaurants within easy walking distance. The security situation is helped by the proximity to lots of embassies and the presidents residence. Police and private security guards everywhere. A very nice part of Mexico city, close to the airport and an excellent hotel.
My husband and I went to Mexico for one week in September 2017. We ready the reviews of this hotel and decided to stayed there. It was the best decision. This hotel is located in the trendy area of Polanco and it’s near a lot of good restaurants and bars. It’s also located on a street with nice stores and boutiques. The service was very good. We planned all of our private tours through the concierge. All the suggested tours were excellent. Our room was not that spacious but we did not spend a lot of time in the room. The hotel offers spa services. I used it and it was very professional and excellent. The hotel offers breakfast. There were many choices to choose and the staff was very professional and always tried to meet my special demands. I highly recommend this hotel.
We stayed at this hotel intermittently for a total of 5 days, and each time we returned, we were welcomed back and shown to a very nice room and met with a welcome drink. Every room we had were large, as was the bathroom . The service at this hotel is second to none, everyone is very helpful and happy to be of service. The restaurant has very good breakfasts, many samples of local flavors. The location, the Polanco area is great - lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. We were very happy at the Las Alcobas and we would definitely stay here again.
