We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Izel! There are so many beautiful and unique design elements in the hotel, with the central staircase overflowing with green plants being our favourite. The room was large and the bed comfortable making it a welcomed place to land after a long day of exploring. The neighbourhood could not have been better! We walked to most places. So many parks, coffee shops, restaurants in the area. I was blown away by Mexico City’s beauty in general, but in particular strolling through the green streets of Roma Norte and Candesa were a delight! Special mention to Saul the bartender who always made us feel welcome and gave us so many great ideas of places to go and things to do. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The rooms are beautiful and the staff are attentive. As others have mentioned, it is pretty loud, esp on the street side (which are the pretty terrace rooms with trees). It’s a perfect location for walking which we did a lot of. We purchased breakfasts to be included but know that if it’s cold out, you are eating on the rooftop. It was 39 F and our only option was to sit up there and freeze. They wouldn’t allow us to take food to our rooms. So I basically skipped breakfast.
