Very friendly staff. Nice small swimming pool but very slippery so be careful. Lights not working in pool change area. Baby cot difficult to assemble so would be better if staff assistance given. Breakfast was good but on Saturday open for very short period of time and right before check-out so it was crowded and inconvenient. Not a far walk to centre and parking options available. Kitchen facilities, but could use dishtowel and dish soap. The bathroom could use more hooks and waste paper basket.
As result of traffic accident our arrival to hotel was 5 minutes late. Door closed, reception empty, for calling reply answering machine. With many problems during Saturday night we found another hotel in Nancy. And result. Néméa Appart'hotel Nancy illegally transfer from my account 103,70 Euro for no accomodation. Warning, absolutely no reccomendation.
This aparthotel is quite a good deal, allowing you to economize if you wish by providing a small kitchen with dish washer which is functional for two people. Friendly and informative staff that don't mind speaking English. Working Fridge, good sized room, comfortable bed with shutters to block out the light, adequate bathroom. As in some other places I have been in there seemed to be a hot water issue in the morning so best to take a shower before bed. Parking outside is free directly outside the hotel from 6pm-10am, an alternative to the 8 euro a day extra parking fee in the basement of the hotel. No room service until you check out though. Obviously you don't get 4* at a 2* price. Didn't take breakfast so cannot comment on the value or quality. Ask at the desk for discounts of 15% for selected local restaurants .. a nice addition that is not advertised well.
We stayed at this hotel for one night in October 2013. It is supposed to be an apartment hotel. There was a kitchenette. You were supposed to leave the kitchen and dishes, etc. you used clean. However there were no cleaning supplies. It would have been nice to find tea bags, salt, pepper, anything. There are no minimal cooking supplies. It was cold in there. My friend slept on the trundle portion of the trundle bed. She froze because it was on the floor. The room was not very clean. I don't think they ever dusted the floor boards and unseen areas of the room. I do not recommend this hotel.
The hotel got on the wrong foot with us when they only opened the doors for check-in on 17:00 (!!!!)- this is a first for me. In most hotels 14:00 is the time you can check in and you can wait in , sit and wait, not like a dog in the street. the room is small , basic, the TV is only in french , the pool is small and cold as ice even in july, but the worst thing was that we did not have hot water for all of us to wash after that- 2 of us had freezing water! add the fact that the bed was too lumpy and you get the point.... this was the only place in town that a family of 5 + a dog , could stay, for that they get a point from me, but i will try not to come again. i do not like Nancy anyway....
Overall, horrible. There are, however, positive sides to this hotel. The location is central, The walk to Place Stanislas is 15 minutes (more than "a few minutes" their web site indicates). I could not find a centrally located hotel room for 3 people (which is what I wanted) near the center for that price other than at the Nemea. Apart from that, no more positives. To give the details, I will start with their check-in. The front desk is conveniently closed on weekends (we were supposed to arrive on a Saturday) from 11 am to 5 pm. My wife and daughter were flying from the U.S. on that day, so they would be tired, and needed rest. I was already in Nancy before that, so the plan was to pick them up at the airport, bring to the hotel around 2-3 pm, and move into the room. The hotel management refused to let me pick up keys the night before, or give me an access code, which is what about every other hotel would do in such a case. They forced me to pay for an extra night to be be able to pick up the keys the night before and more in to the room before 5 pm. For comparison, their check-out time is 10 am. The apartment we had was furnished in a regular aparthotel style, apart from the the unusual fact that amount of the shelf space was exactly zero outside of the bathroom. No need to unpack, since there is no room to put anything in. Another horrible experience was with the internet. The hotel advertizes free wifi in the room, but the signal is extremely weak. To connect, you needed to find the weak network, fill out an online form, and they would sent you a text message to your phone with a code. To start with, our phones we American phones, so the text messages were not free in Europe. In any case, their message never arrived, so you had to arrange for them to call you with the code, which again cost money. This all had to be done over a very weak signal. Furthermore, you had to go through the procedure separately for every single device you wanted to connect to the internet. Even after you are connected, the signal is so weak as to be often unusable. In one of the room, any reception of any sort was available at exactly one fixed spot in the room. It has been a long time I have had such bad experience in a hotel, and I stay in hotels often. I would never consider returning to this hotel if I can avoid it.
It's a clean cozy and nice hotel with good family apartments. For the family it's great because you have your fridge, microwave, a little stove and even a ironing board. The pools clean but a bit cold. The personal was very helpful and very nice. They really think ahead for you. To bad that they leave at 20:00. Breakfast was good but not outstanding. And for diner we ate in a restaurant left around the corner. This was one of our stopovers toward spain. But everybody in the region was very helpful and nice.
The room was like a bedsit with cooking appliances etc.. we were on the first floor and could hear road noise.. the hotel was very basic as we only saw 1 person who checked us in.. the breakfast was poor with no hot food just a selection of cereals and yogurts etc... plus tea nd coffee, a bit of a let down as we had to eat again later.., the hotel is close to the town centre, the maganificient square making up for the poor surroundings.. overall okay for 1 night but would choose elswhere if having to stay longer.
Main problem - staff on site for only few hours-a-day, so it's really "do it yourself" thing... But if you are prepared for this situation - it's not that bad. Rooms are clean and of good size. By the way - helicopters landing (especially during the night) on the roof of hospital opposite don't make things easier...
Reasonably sized apartment, with self catering kitchen. Clean, very basic amenities.
