Visited the Hilton several times on our visit to Gardini Naxos. We were staying locally and were very disappointed with our hotel . We ate and had drinks and snacks there regularly and were very happy with the food and staff there unlike the staff in our hotel who were rude and surly.
Stayed as part of a tour of Sicily to be able to visit Mount Etna and Taormina. Large hotel with big, comfortable rooms, friendly staff with good English. Nice functional bathroom with usual range of Hilton amenities, kettle provided but no bottled water. Wi-Fi connected well. Very good buffet breakfast with sea views from the terrace. Several restaurants opposite hotel and a small market open late. Is quite far from Taormina, really need to take a taxi.
Big rooms. We had a direct sea view on the 5th foor. Very nice. The bed was soft. That was a negative. The rest of the room was nice. Good size bathroom, standard Hilton ammenities. Breakfast buffet was nice. Many options spanning western, Italian and European options. Sitting outside was a pleasant start to the day. The pool water was cold. The beach chairs cost 15 euro. Towels are available. You can see Mt Etna on clear days. Location to Taormina is doable but a bit far. We walked to the waterfront cafe area of Naxos for dinner and to also go on a boat excursion. About a 20m walk. The on off bus stop is close by. Taxis are right out front. If you are a Hilton club member this is a good option.
We stayed here for a weeks Autumn sun. The outside of the hotel is not very appealing and the reception and lounge area, although large and spacious, are glaring, both for the overly bright lighting, and the walls, all of which are covered in garish, modern murals, depicting the areas ancient Greek past. Its tough on the eyes. The rooms however are a haven of tasteful calm. Decorated in a subdued and stylish yellow wallpaper and with classic Italianate furnishings they are simply lovely. A tip is to opt for the more expensive King rooms as these are larger and offer spectacular views of the sea beyond the pool and beach beyond. The restaurant offers open air seating and does good quality breakfasts. The pool and its surrounding area is very large, with a good selection of seating and sun beds. Our only gripe concerned the beach towels, which are only handed out in a dedicated cabin on the beach after handing over a printed card and signing for them, on a strictly-one-per-person-per-day rule; a pointless and needless bureaucratic exercise The pool area also contains a number of printed warnings about pool times, no reserving sun beds, showering before swimming etc., none of which were observed by any of the guests and none of which were enforced by the pool staff, so why bother?! we did however enjoy a very relaxing week and would recommend the hotel without hesitation.
Great location great hotel service was very good staff very helpful and the view was lovely I would stay here again great restaurants across the road from hotel very comfortable room.. highly recommend
As the booking had changed from the Hellenia next door to the Hilton AND being Hilton Hhonors members for nearly 20 years I emailed the General Manager, Mr. Modesti, who didn't respond, away on business it seems. I was hoping to get a rom upgrade from the room we as members of a Saga Tour would get. I was assured by a member of the Reservations Dept. that we would be 'looked after.' We arrived en masse, and the check process was a calling out of Room numbers by a member of the Hotel Staff. We were assigned 3111, Kind Size bed, see attached pic., the hollows are due to tired and worn out mattress topper not the mattress as such, with a balcony overlooking the staff entrance area of the Hellenia. OK, we could see the sea and the foothills of Etna. The furniture was rather grand and just what we have come to expect. Bathroom and amenities were good. Very large Reception area and Dining Room. We were told that the first two night of our stay (of five in total) would both be buffer style and with wine and water. Excellent spread on both nights. As we'd opted for the three night extension we were told by the Saga Tour Manager that we'd have a choice of three from the menu per course. Salvatore, the Head Waiter, not what I would call a Matre d' was abrupt, and they'd not bothered to set the table out for a group of ten. Two tables of four each and then find a table seemed to be the 'system.' We were not told about the free wine with the meal and both of the first tow courses did a tour of the dining room before arriving at out table! It seems that table numbers were not use. Average food. The second nigh was better but still no mention of the free wine. I had a meeting with my 'contact' in Reservations who assured me that wine and water were part of the 'meal plan.' The third night, Massimo the waiter was very good, food still average. We got wine and were offered ice cream as the food desert was rather sad! I was told that I could have asked for an upgrade to the room on the second night onwards as they were booked up on the first night. Pity this option was not pro-actively offered rather than mentioned on the last day. We won't be staying here again. No doubt Mr. Modesti will comment on this review, pity he didn't respond to my earlier email. Also pity they could not credit my Hhonors account with neither the days stayed nor some points. Typical franchised Hilton Hotel.
Hilton Naxos offer a comprehensive and Affordable menu they weren't many patrons as it is a restaurant area but None around offering the professionalism and class Of a hilton Greetings was formal and i sat by the illuminated garden by the pool My first dish was a Paccheri a kind of stuffed pasta with Ricotta eggplants basil stunning presentation lovely taste cooked to perfection Excellent euro 16 For dessert I had a mini pear tart accompanied by ....a gorgonzola ice cream very subtle taste although no for every one i have to compliment the bold creativity and again the presentation was a work of art a memorable dish Euro 8 Along i had a quality glass of red wine And a sticky to go with my dessert Total was euro 40 for a real 5 star meal It is a real pity that more people do not walk in to discover this level of authentic Italian cuisine the rapport quality price is very good A cut far far above the numerous pasta and Pizza eateries found in the area I shall return
Not a good start as on arrival our room wasn't ready however the other 3 rooms in our group where, was told we could go and change in one of our friends rooms. No rush to get our room ready and when after 2 hours it was no sorry and nothing like a glass of wine free. Even thou the hotel is very clean and tidy the pool was nice and beach was loverly the whole place just wasn't up to Hilton standards. what ever we doing in the hotel it only seemed that they wanted to get money off you. It seemed to have been a hard year for the staff and they all wanted to go home. sorry to say i wont be going again.
Firstly, what an absolutely stunning location this hotel is situated within.... I will be going back We stayed in the Hilton as part of her 54 person international sales convention and in my personal opinion, we could not have asked more from the staff, hotel, local food/wine shopping in town and stunning views... I would recommend Sicily and the Hilton in particular every time
Visited this hotel for a couple of nights as part of a tour group. Large hotel on a beach location with excellent views. Big comfortable rooms with good facilities. Nice buffet breakfast and all the other facilities you would expect from a Hilton Hotel.
