Luxury relaxing beautiful hotel and grounds. We all loved it (two boys 8 and 4) and two adults.kids didn't spend much time in kids club as they enjoyed time as a family more. Staff were great. We will be returning in next couple of years.
Good quality if you know where in the hotel you should stay. Best rooms are so called premium rooms on 3rd, 4th and 5th floor in the middle, with nice sea views and away from the bar music. Costs a bit more but is worth it. 9th floor is basic sea view but right above the noisy restaurant.
This hotel is lovely and the views are breathtaking. this was our 2nd time back and we will return every year for a short romantic break as it is the perfect place for that. Hotel is just great and very clean. Great location and not too busy either. Our fave!
Absolutely lovely hotel with great service, beautiful views from the rooms especially from the the top floor restaurant. We visited menorca last May, and we will go again this summer. Great value for money if you book early. The only downside was that the restaurants/bars were closing at 23:00.
We stayed in October for 1 week, 2 adults and a 6 year old.The weather was lovely and the resort nice and quiet. We love Cala Galdana but this was the first time we had stayed at the Melia. The hotel is perfectly located with the most breath taking views of the bay. The decor was very much to our taste and was clean and tidy. Our room was a little tight as we had 3 of us in it but we managed! it was great to have tea and coffee facilities too. The food was good but the choice was reducing as the week went on. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
If you are a wheelchair user this is a nightmare of a hotel. Within one hour of arrival I had a bad accident going down the steep slope to the beach as it had been raining and the path did not have a "slippery when wet" notice on it so I slid down it and crashed into the railings at the bottom and spent the rest of the day in hospital.Fortunately I did not suffer any long term injuries. This hotel is absolutely lovely for the able bodied. The bedroom safe is free and they provide a kettle and a lovely thick fluffy beach towel in the room. The bathrooms are immaculate. The food is ok, varied and plenty of it but and its a big but, not hot enough, always luke warm even if you start your meal at 6.30pm so I just used to stick to salads and hat a decent hot meal at lunchtime. Having said all this I may decide to go again next year as the resort and hotel are lovely.
We enjoyed a fantastic trip the last five nights of the season (the hotel was closing the Sunday we departed until next May) Uneventful flights with Easyjet from Luton. We transferred by Taxi - just over 50 euros each way (Late at night arrival and Sunday morning return) Family room 632 was fantastic - double sofa bed for our boys, who also had their own bathroom. Superking sized double for us. Lovely views of the beach and bay from the balcony.TV in each room includes BBC, ITV and kids channels. Weather was lovely - highs of around 25 with blue skies and sun. Okay, days are short (think 10.30am to 5pm for sunbathing) and one day was windy, but it was late October! Pool is lovely, but not heated so a bit chilly. There are two hot tubs that were between 32 and 40 degrees. There is a small Gym with "Technogym" equipment. Restaurant was great - again numbers dining were diminishing by the day, but a good choice prevailed at both breakfast and dinner. A bottle of wine with dinner is around 17 to 22 euros. Our boys loved kids club - special thanks to Celia who they had great fun with. There are good coastal walks in both directions to neighboring beaches, and we also took the bus from the centre of the resort to Cuitadella - (12 Euros each way for four, about 30 minutes) which is worth a half day visit. We loved this hotel and would like to return. We enjoyed the fact that it was late season and very quiet. I suspect it, and the beach could be very busy in peak season, but I can recommend a late season break.
overall a very pleasant stay ...october is ideal for a relaxing quiet break..in the summer i can imagine it would be very busy for a small town ..we took a 13 and 16 yr old and there was not alot for them to do but the kayak is value for money .. the sea and beach are beautiful and ideal for young families... would go again ..
End of season weeks holiday was made very pleasant with half board at the Melia hotel. Attentive pleasant staff, good facilities and very nice food. Even though end of season the decor and facilities did not look tired.
The hotel is located directly on the beach of Cala Galdana, one of the most beautiful creaks of Minorca. The building and its surroundings, including swimming pool and jacuzzi, are large and pleasant with a modern design. Rooms are very convenient for families up to 4 people and the view from the rooms on the seaside is amazing. Service corresponds to the expected standing: helpful and efficient, and the same for the 2 restaurants and the pool bar. For us, it was a perfect stay: we highly recommend this hotel and congratulate all its staff for the excellent time we had in this hotel.
