A lovely family hotel in a great position close to a beautiful sandy beach. We had booked a one bedroomed apartment for 2 adults and 2 children. On arrival we were delighted by a two storey apartment; modernly decorated. Bathroom and twin beds on ground floor; stairs up to large lounge/ dining area with 2 sofa beds - this led out onto a large terrace with views over the pool and also to the sea....it was truly beautiful. It took us a day before we realized that there was another terrace on the other side - not a pretty view but somewhere else to sit or dry your clothes! The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need for a weeks stay. We were half board...mainly ate out by the pool but occasionally bought things back to the room. Breakfast at the hotel was great - a huge selection of fruit, cereals, breads, meat, cheese, pastries as well as cooked foods and omlettes(highly recommended) and pancakes made to order. Dinner was also good with plenty of selection and usually 3 or 4 fish / meats cooked to order. We had lunch at the pool bar one day, but usually either got a takeaway pizza for the children (from the Why Not? bar by the beach - under 7Euros for 12") or baguettes etc from the local supermarket which is less than 5 mins away. The pool was lovely and suitable for all ages. One end is like a beach and very gradually gets deeper - the other is around 2 metres deep I think (suitable to dive in anyway). There is also a small toddler pool attached to the main pool. There is an indoor pool (and spa) which didn't appear to be heated when we were there but it looked very nice. There was a bit of poolside entertainment during our stay - the water polo was very popular and also the aqua aerobics. Kids entertainment seemed low key, but my daughter joined in a couple of afternoons. Plenty of sunbeds and parasols available even in late August when we visited. Evening entertainment started a little late for us as the children were a bit tired and ready for bed at 2130 but we did go the magic show one night and there was a great atmosphere and it was very entertaining and enjoyable. Overall a lovely hotel, beautiful island and we shall definitely return.
Would go back tomorrow. With a 10yr (girl) & 5yr (boy). And a wife. Everything about it was fantastic (Thompson's) flew on the dream catcher/liner ? Best plane ever. I hate flying but this one got me only needing 3 pints before boarding. I could have stayed on it. Hotel rooms are basic, but clean an sufficient. The food is as is. The only gripe is the "special " book your night for food. It's not good, you'll be better of eating IN the hotel. Kids club (I don't know, I didn't go) the kids loved it. Going back next year. (Dreamliner).
We were at this hotel for a week in July. The hotel is very nice and quiet even it was full at that time. The food was excelent and the swiming pool was big enough and you could get a chair if you arrive early. Staff were freindly especially Ricardo that was working at the buffet ans that was always atentive to our needs. Most of the guests are German, so animation is very focused for them, so sometimes not so interesting for us. The only thing that we think it should be improved was tgat the buffet closed at 9pm which is pretty early if you want to stay at the nice beaches of Menorca watching the sunset, you have to loose your dinner.
The hotel is very nice. I would definately recommend for families to go here rather than Cala 'N Bosch area. This area is quiet, good for families and without drunken party goers. The tourists are mainly of german origin, with some spanish, english natives going there too. We had an upstairs room for 3 people with sea view balcony in the building Xaloc. All buildings seem to be almost identical other than availability of sea views. Regardless, we spent the day relaxing and having lunch on balcony with some local foods. At first the rooms seemed a little neglected, with old fittings etc. However, despite the shower head falling off on the last day, it was all very good. The cleaning Lady Alicia was very forthcoming, especially as we used the kitchen and balcony so much. The Pool/Sea: The pool is very nice, really great for kids and adults. It is clean too. No overpowering smell of chlorine. We witnessed 3 lifeguards. 1 Girl, 2 boys. The girl seemed very switched on but she didnt interact with anyone, which isnt a problem i guess. The second lifeguard was pretty uninterested. A whale could have exploded and he would not have noticed. Seemed more concerned with his phone and picking his nose. Then there was Cristian. Very, Very nice guy. I hope this guy stays. Helpful with the kids, adults, dealt with little accidents promplty and courteously, was very switched on etc. He is great. There is a pool bar which is nice when you fancy a cold sangria or a pizza at lunch. However, the waitress there seemed somewhat annoyed everyday. I hope she is ok. The sea was really nice, once you got into it. In some areas it gets rather rocky so I do recommend to buy some water shoes, especially with kids. Snorkelling is awesome there and well worth doing. If you choose to rent a jetski, boat or anything else motorised you have to go to the main harbour to do so. Do this early in your holiday though and not half way through. Restaurant: All in all we enjoyed it. What was important to us was fresh food, freshly cooked, not mass buffets. LOL. Now this is a buffet with daily changing themes, i.e. Cocktail night, sushi night, BBQ etc. Then alongside you have your standard dishes for the people who are less into their foods and just care to eat. The waiters were great. A big shout out to Simon who was courteous, funny and very good at what he does. He has his eyes everywhere and doesnt leave you waiting. Also, the waiter with the braces, a very kind man and sorry I forgot your name. Then there is David, also very very kind and friendly and professional. All in all, the waiters did some of the best jobs there I think, perhaps beside the receptionists. The animation for the kids is not amazing. It'll do for up to 10 year olds but as I was seeking some rest and relaxation it helped not have someone jump around the pool with a microphone singin useless chart songs. This doesnt happen at all. The guys Max and Nico are pretty laid back and clearly only do this job to keep themselves busy. Everyday there was a different evening entertainment after the kids club. That was nice but sometimes we wished for the entertainment to have a little more depth. Our favorite during our stay was the Disney Singers, The Flamenco and perhaps the bingo night (as you could win some wine, which we didnt). About 100 metres are 2 supermarkets that will definatley provide you with your lunches (nice iberico ham there). On the front are two tacky restaurants to which I wouldnt go myself, but are perhaps a nice alternative if you are taking a stroll to the beach and fancy a sneaky Hierbas after hours. All in all, we will definately come back and hope to see the same staff there as we did just now.
Couple 38 & 44 no kids but one on the way. The Positives Very friendly staff and the hotel is very clean. The rooms are massive and we were shocked at our apartment, as we only booked a room for the two of us. We had an upstairs with lounge and kitchen along with 3 balconies! The food was food and had a wide range of selection for breakfast (only stayed B&B). The grounds around the hotel are well kept and a very nice place to walk round. The pool is massive and has a separate kids pool. Plenty of nice sunbeds and parasols to go round. But people did still reserve them. We used to go down to pool between 10am-11am, and always managed to get two together. There is Lifeguard on duty at all times. Didn’t use the pool side bar which also served food and ice creams, but it looked very popular and busy. The marina is only a 10 – 15 minute walk from the hotel. And the nearest beach is accessible by a path at the back of the hotel and is 3 minutes away where they have supermarkets, restaurants, and water sports. Going into the water on this beach is tricky due to all the rocks though under foot. The Negatives We only went B&B and glad we did as when it gets busy in the buffet restaurant everyone gets in each others way, common courtesy and manners had gone out the window. I lost count of how many time I waited for people to pass without a smile or a thank you. Be careful as this is the second hotel in less than a year that have tried to charge us for drinks at the bar, when we hadn’t used the hotel bar during our stay. When we explained this and said we weren’t paying for them, the receptionist just said ok don’t worry we’ll sort this. Don’t know if this is a hotel thing or an On The Beach thing, as we booked both times with them. Don’t hire a car from the hotel as they put 15% on for basically calling the rental company to come pick you up and take you to their office. We found a great little company called Minurka located in the Marina which were 20 euros less than hotel for a better car. Not the hotels fault but I think we were the only English couple there, and it’s full of families with young children, not many couples. Made it difficult chatting to fellow guests. This is a great hotel even with those negatives and so glad we did bed and breakfast as it was great to get out and explore and the Marina had some fantastic restaurants. If you are B & B and fancy some lunch out but don’t want to go too far then can I recommend ‘Why Not’ just down the road where the two supermarkets are by the beach. Food is fantastic and staff very friendly, but they do get busy some be prepared to wait if they are as they only have two waiters during the day. Went made the mistake of going to Neptuno on the first day, not a patch on Why Not.
Lovely environment, very quiet place and great sevice. My kids loved all the entertainment and there is a wonderful beach just 4 minutes on foot. I keep coming back since 3 years ago. The only problem is August is the highest peak season in Menorca and it's pretty crowded everywhere, so I recommend to avoid that month.
A lovely, friendly hotel where nothing is too much trouble. Very spacious and smart accommodation with vast manicured grounds. Great breakfast choices with unobtrusive service. Lovely indoor spa pool and jacuzzi and huge free form outdoor pool with bar and snacks adjacent. A short stroll along a track to the sandy beach with lots of smaller Calas a short walk away. The marina is only about 10 minute walk away, with great restaurants and bars. Hardly any traffic around either which made it seem so peaceful but we crammed in so much in just a few days. This is definitely a place we will revisit very soon.
A great little hotel outside Cala'n Bosch. We were a family of two adults and two children. Stayed in a two bedroom apartment and had lots of room. In addition to two bedrooms, the room had a living room with a fully equipped kitchen and a balcony. The hotel has a restaurant that serves breakfast, but we chose to buy our own breakfast from one of the nearby shops and eat at the balcony. The apartments/rooms are placed in a sort of courtyard fashion, giving it a cozy village feeling. In the middle there is pool divided into a shallow childrens section and large pool. There are a lot of sunbeds, but limited space around the pool. But the soloution is to place the sunbeds on the grass surrounding the pool. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Beautiful hotel, helpful staff, large pool, plenty of sun beds, large modern apartments, wide selection of food, different foods every night, 500 metres from the beach, entertainment during the day but not pestered to take part. Overall a great holiday only negative was the evening entertainment which was dreadful but we walked into town most nights anyway, 10 minute walk to the marina with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. Probably a much better hotel and holiday experience than we originally booked!
We are staying here, waiting to be seen by the doctor along with about eight different rooms. The doctor is due soon, but reception can't tell us when he will be arriving. My son has an ear infection, and now looks like my daughter does too. We are due to fly home in two days and have no idea whether we will be able to. The pool chlorine is weird, when we rinse our swimmers afterwards, the resulting water is bright yellow. Its not all bad, this hotel, but we have been to other hotels in the area for the past four years and never once has any of us had an ear infection. I know you can get them from other means but the fact that both children have them is surely not coincidental.
