Soltigua was a very comfortable and clean hotel/apartment. Small and simple self catering opportunities. Within walking distance to the central part of Mendoza without paying the premium prices. Helpful staff, comfortable bed, good wi-fi, secure parking. Recommendable. Some stairs and walking involved, but not a big issue.
When we booked this apart hotel it was one of few choices left at last minute that looked decent. We were a bit hesitant but seemed ok by reviews and website. Hi It has more than surprised us. Large apartment with good kitchen (no washing machine) and kitchen table plus lounge area and good sized bedroom with comfortable bed and decent bathroom. Better than our expectations. Hotel staff good, also used the laundry service which was cheap and back within the day. The best thing is the location. It is about a 20 minute to the absolute centre but the road it is situated on comes alive at night with excellent restaurant choices and bars. Good for younger generation as well as older. It is also near the big park of Mendoza and in the newer residential park. If you want value for money in a decent 3 star type hotel in a good location, this won’t let you down.
Very good Apart Hotel in Mendoza City. We were two adults and three children and there was room enough. We went in summer. We really have very hot days, with temperature over 35 degrees. The apartments are oriented facing the west, so the sun heats all day and the windows blackout are not good enough. One major drawback was that the master bedroom did not have an air conditioner, just a ceiling fan!. despite the fact that we had very hot days, it is a good apartment and a very good choice. The kitchen is not very equipped, just the basics. We missed a coffe machine and we bought a coffee filter cup and coffee filter paper cones. The cleaning was good enough. The staff was very helpful. The pool was really a life-saver in the hot days!, and ideal for kids. Very good restaurants and pubs in the neighbourhood. A few blocks away (near seven I think), is Aristides Villanueva's Street, full of pubs and petit restaurants, and it's a must to enjoy the city nights!. One of the major parks are within five minutes walk: Parque General San Martin and it worth a visit.
We had a few days in Mendoza. Our stay at Soltigua was very pleasant. The pool was a life-saver after hot days out and about. The room was clean and serviced every day and we were easily able to cook basic meals when we were not eating in one of the many great restaurants in easy walking distance from Soltigua. All the front desk staff were very helpful and were able to answer any questions we had. Overall a good and pleasant stay.
Don't expect more than you can get for USD 39/night. I don't think this is a 3 stars hotel. AC, wifi, cleaning, odor and foot were to bad... I won't come here ever. I understand was my fault to choose this kind of hotel, but this is what you get when you save on hotels
This is a simple apartment / hotel complex and we found the staff at the front desk very helpful. The bed was okay, the shower the tiniest shower we have ever experienced, the breakfast not really large enough to be called a breakfast, but the location quite okay. Cleaners let the room down as there was rubbish left over from the previous stay and floor sweepings were left behind the door. Wifi was only really usable in the lobby. Simple things let this facility down.
Decent, very affordable, apartment hotel rooms but nothing special. Rooms are quiet and there is a nice pool area. The worst part of this hotel is that the wifi in the rooms is very unreliable. It constantly drops, won't stay connected, is often very slow and is easily overloaded. At best is is usable in the rooms ~10-20% of the time, and that is all during non-busy times. It's better if you go down to the lobby and use the receptions wifi. Rooms are very basic but considering the price, they are a good value. There are no elevators so you have to lug your luggage up stairs to the 3rd floor rooms. The neighborhood is nice and fairly quiet and a short walk from lots of city life and shopping. The staff is very helpful and courteous. I recommend it for budget travelers that just need a basic place to stay because they will be out about the city most of the time.
We arrived much later than planned, due to the late opening of the Cristo Redentor pass because of bad weather conditions and hassles with aduana (customs). But we finally got there, minutes before room service shut down. They gladly took our (big) order, as we had our children with us and we were all tired and hungry and they could see that. The food was delicious and the next day we took our time shopping and going to the aquarium. Delightful visit, would have stayed much longer but since we only came to update our tourist visa we had to hoof it back. Next time!
To top the fact that there are no elevators, the cleaning was awful. Not just bad or negligent, it was AWFUL. Also, those blankets had so much dust in it I had to beat them. If we lived out in the wild, I guess the dry weather in the desert could be blamed, but since Mendoza is a fairly large town and equipped with washing machines, it is inexcusable. We were three and two of us got allergies from the blankets. I liked Mendoza and am sure to return soon, but NEVER again in Soltigua.
Good family self catering hotel away from the centre and close to the main park. Local stores for purchase of fruit and basics. There is a cafe in the hotel with simple meals and a bar, and there are good restaurants within 5 to 6 blocks walk
