The hotel lobby is very nice but the rooms are really run down and dirty, they look nothing like the photos. My room was not even cleaned properly. It's also not in a great part of town, run down and abandoned neighborhood. There is also no real restaurant so if you need a meal you have to literally leave the hotel. I would not stay here again.
With a large room, friendly staff and solid breakfast, it is a good value. However, it's about 10 minute walk from the center of the town and we could smell the cigarette smoke whenever a neighbor or someone close to the cents smoked due to the way central air ventilation was designed.
This hotel is great from the cleaniness of the room to the hotel service, excellent.
The staff at The Modern Hotel was fantastic. They helped us organize wine tours, recommended great restaurants and helped us translate when we were stuck with our limited Spanish. Their suggestions were what we needed to explore the city comfortably. The lounge atmosphere was fun and we enjoyed the pool and restaurant too. Only 10 minutes from the airport and a few blocks from the main plazas.
Great Hotel, has a pool, very comfy with 3 bed per room, nice and new furniture, had a good safe in room, and has all the things to expect from a "Modern" living experience. Breakfast was great as was the service, and Hotel bar was good enough. Only bad side was the near by area doesn't have much and I don't recommend walking at night alone, also most things required taxi due to distance.
Check-in a breeze Staff very nice and helpful Rooms very comfortable and very well appointed Bar and restaurant very good and staff was nice, kind, pleasant and attentative Loccation 4 blocks of from San Martin gave me an opportunity to walk a bit, it took 10 minutes to walk from the hotel to Plaza Indepemdencia Location was not a problem My best spent lodging dollars in 10 years I will return next time in town Bjorn W
The hotel was beautiful inside with spacious and lovely rooms. The food at the hotel's restaurant was delicious as well. While in Mendoza we enjoyed a wine tour through a company that the hotel uses, which also included a tour of an olive plant, and liquour/dulce de leche/chocolate store. The following day the hotel hooked us up with a two hour trek in the nearby mountains which was lovely and great exercise. We enjoyed our time at the Modern Hotel and would recommend it.
