This hotel was a huge disappointment in many respects. First of all it is a bit dated in the decor, the carpet in the corridors and rooms is old. The room we had was spacious (with a kitchen area (although no cooker), table, sofa. but bland and dated decor and 2 of the 4 pillow smelled strangely. The breakfast was nothing great, spread over several tables but limited variety so you felt you had to walk a lot to get few basic things. The worst thing was the state of the pool! water murky and full of stuff floating on top. It really seemed so dirty that we couldn't dare to bathe in it. The only salvation was a woman at reception who was very informative and helpful. The hotel is 4 quadrars (blocks) from the main commercial street and few more from the areas where all restaurants and bars seems to be located so it was always a 30 minutes walk back in the evening which wouldn't have been bad if it wasn't that both our guide and some random person in the street took care to tell us that they wouldn't walk alone in the area.
I had to stay for one night in Mendoza on a trip to Santiago from Buenos Aires which was very bad news because I was planning to get back to my family. We booked Mod Hotel and we where delighted with a great hotel. Fantastic rooms and services. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was very good. The service was very good and polite.
Stayed here for a long weekend. Rooms were nice, staff ok. Breakfast was way under what you would expect from this class of hotel. Coffee was really bad, not enough of a bread selection, not enough cereal selection, no choice of natural flavor yogurt. Hand soap for the bathroom was super tiny and they didnt give a new one daily -
The MOD hotel is located a few blocks from the city main plaza. The service is good, room are large and overall it is a convenient place to stay if you visit Mendoza without having to spend an arm and a leg. Sparkling wine is offered at breakfast, so after a few mimosas you do forget the rather sad and not so good buffet that is offered. The area is OK, I walked past midnight and never felt threatened.
very nice notel, the location is no the best but works just fine. The restorant is also good, is a very good option if you can´t find a place to eat. The rooms are very confortable as well. We did´nt use the pool because of the weather but it looks good as well.
The hotel was comfortable and a great starting point for our wine tours. We really just came back to the hotel to sleep after a hard day of wine tasting. The hotel was quiet, decent breakfast and very friendly. The hotel is walking distance to many great restaurants in the area, I found it safe to walk around the hotel. This hotel caters to a younger crowd, so the weekends can be a bit busy with loud music. Totally my scene so it was fun, but I could see how some other people might not like that.
As with everywhere I have visited in Argentina, the staff at the Mod hotel are great. The rooms are ok, a bit basic and if you're looking for a full kitchenette this probably isn't the right place - the kitchenettes only have a microwave and no other way of cooking. The common areas, the bar, the restaurant and the pool are bright and airy and welcoming. But the location isn't great. It's a long walk to the decent bars and restaurants in the fifth section.
The rooms were big to fit 3 adults and was very spacious. The general appeal of the hotel was very good. Staff were friendly and spoke little English which was Ok to understand and get by. Approx 10 mins walk to the city centre.
The Mod was selected by our travel company. The modern lobby area was very large with bar and restaurant-style seating that for the most part was empty much of the day. At the back was a pretty though small pool and patio area. Breakfast was included with the room and was nicely done with standard options (plus champagne). A little variation from day to day would have been nice as we were there a week. The rooms were large and clean. Our biggest disappointment was the location of the hotel -- not a really great area of the city. In addition, the "fitness center" equipment was sad -- poorly calibrated or broken -- with limited air conditioning. The hotel offered no currency exchange and balked at even providing change for a large bill. Staff was responsive to requests, but some were a bit surly in their demeanor. Wi-Fi was very spotty in my room, but worked in the lobby. Like many hotels these days, guests are allowed to bring pets. Several nights I was kept awake by a barking dog, probably left alone in a room by its owners.
Forgot a battery charger in my room. A week later went back to the hotel (rerouting my trip) to pick it up. The girl at the desktop told me the person responsible for the keys of the lost-items room was not there at that time and that they could send it to me. I agreed. A couple of days later when back home, received a message saying that I would be charged ARS 308 for mailing the item, which would've been OK if she had told me that at the time I showed myself to recover it.
