Very clean hotel - Large rooms - Great location, just a short walk down the hill to the town centre, shops, bars etc. - Large secure car park, large and clean swimming pool. Staff excellent, breakfast a feast !! Great stay, will stay again 100% - Old hotel but has a great feel...
A very ugly building but with excellent views of the city. The rooms and bathrooms are in desperate need of a refurbishment but they are comfortable enough. Sound insulation is not great. Nice pool. Poor shower. Excellent breakfast. Sadly, probably the best you will get in Melilla.
We booked the Parador for 4 days over Christmas. The Hotel has a FABULOUS location with views over the Port, Old Town and the City. Reception was smooth and efficient as was checkout. The room was very large with balcony. It was very clean and had plenty on towels gels etc. The Bar was spacious and quiet. The staff attentive. The dining room has great views over the City by night. The food was adequate but not memorable. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. We must give particular thanks to Jose. WE would recommend this hotel.
Melilla is a delightful Spanish enclave on the coast of Morocco, both Spanish and Moroccan in many ways. You can do the main sites ion a couple of days - Melilla la Vieja, the fortress with good museums that tell the history of the place, the gardens and the market. All accessible on foot. We stayed at the Parador, a modern building perched at the top. The staff were very friendly and helpful but the food needs attention. We ate in the restaurant on the first evening to be told that one of the specials was lentils and when ordered we were told that they were off! The tagine of chicken was cold and when we asked for ice cream for desert, among the flavours was chocolate which we chose only to be told it was off. Breakfast equally had its moments, no bread for toast, crispy bacon that was flacid. In the evening we wanted to order a bottle of wine at the bar and were told they only served glasses. All other paradors we have stayed in did not have this restriction. But by way of reparation after dinner on the first night we were not charged for the wine or water and large brandies were also give to us for our trouble. A good bedroom with balcony overlooking the town with comfortable beds. A little dated but you can live with that. But smelly loos!
Great views over the old castle and new town, small and friendly hotel, staff could not do enough, lovely helpful people, rooms a good size, very clean, a little old in places. Nice swimming pool, new sunbeds. Short walk down hill to the main town. Nice beach. Good shopping, some Tax Free, as it is an Enclave like Gibraltar. Petrol just 1 euro per liter !!
I stayed at the Parador for one night and had a great time. The receptionist, who seemed to be working the entire time I was there, was very friendly and helpful. It is an old hotel and could probably stand some serious remodeling, but it was very spacious, bright, airy, and clean. The room was huge and the view was spectacular. It overlooked the city and I could also view the water. It helps that it is the highest point in the city. It is a rather steep walk from the city below, but I found it doable, and I'm not in great shape. I would definitely stay there again. Melilla, by the way, was a cool little city. I would like to go back.
Everything was good here. The staff were very friendly, the beds were comfortable, the room was clean, the water was hot, the wifi was strong and the view was amazing! Be sure to request a room on the upper floor to maximize the view.
Stayed here at the Parador for a few nights.Staff were lovely very helpful. Rooms were very spacious and very clean. We stayed on the fourth floor with a sea view. The views were amazing. Lovely place to visit excellent shopping lovely food and not too many tourists.
+++ Great location that offers an amazing view on the city +++ Nice staff +++ Spacious rooms +++ Nice breakfast +++ Walking to the hotel is a workout itself --- Old style hotel, but this is not a problem. Melilla seems to be a city where time has stopped somewhere in the past. Tips: ask for top floor rooms. The view at night is amazing
The Parador was an excellent place to stay for a few days in Melilla. The views from most of the rooms are excellent, over the city, mountains and sea, and the pool was excellent given the temperatures. The rooms were a little old, but were spacious and comfortable. I think it was a little odd that nearly all the rooms were twin rather than double bedded, but that seems to be a standard Parador feature. Breakfast was excellent and extensive. I ate at the hotel on a Saturday night for dinner, and was the only diner. The walk to the old town isn’t too far, unless you are very unfit and can’t manage a 10 minute uphill walk.
