Sorry can’t say I will ever stay here again. Service was quite low. You can’t book your car in if you are travelling down, you have to call that day to see and if not they will try find somewhere else. Also the “heated” pool was so cold, was told it was 28 degrees but it was so cold none of us could stay in there as we where freezing. They take $100 out to secure room for damages which is fine but takes 2 weeks to come back to you. But all these small things, the worse was the bed. Feels 100 years old both myself and husband could barely move the next day. Majorly needs an update. Toilet seat was actually peeling off. Such a shame as it’s a beautiful spot
One bedroom self contained apartment ....1 glass 2 spoons 2 forks and 2 knives etc Bed broken ....no legs in centre Gave a written complaint after first night one and we were granted one extra glass!!!! We have stayed in this hotel several times and it has slowly deteriorated to now be absolutely horrible
So too busy for dilly dallies after long days at the office means that when I walk into my accommodation I want a clean, comfortable venue, with friendly and informative staff and great practical location, this place does it all, extremely well. Offers a great gym & pool as well. Limited variety of dine in options doesn't detract from good quality, generous portions of fine hamburgers or Indian selection of meals - chicken curry is so generous and filling you won't be left wanting, a side of roti fresh & sumptuous. Second night, burger and chips extremely generous portions, enjoyable with no complaint. Rooms are well serviced with separate dining, kitchen and bedrooms and a balcony, making a business trip a very easy transition from home, highly recommended. After spending a full day in the office I recommend the walk to the city as a form of relaxation and wind down and an chance to experience the variety of Melbourne alternative eateries and entertainment. Team is right outside I you don't fancy the walk great place obviously my go to for my home away from home.
Would normally recommend this hotel Though in the last two visits the following issues and when reported the staff response was to say the least poor And nothing came from the reporting of the issues other than a shoulder shrug 1) tv aerial connection broken 2) no heating in the room Both separate incidences on different trip though same response
Stayed here with my daughter. Despite the room being a bit dated, the room was clean and the hotel is in a pretty good location, not too far out of the CBD and very close to the shrine and botanical gardens. The rooms definitely need some freshening up. The staff were friendly and helpful. For the price we paid I was happy with what we got.
We are staying for two nights, booked a budget room. We are in room 407 in the Plaza tower which is a studio room, containing a kitchenette, queen bed, living room with lounge, 2 chairs, dining table with two chairs and tv. Plus an ensuite with shower over bath, vanity and toilet. No balcony, view is towards the building next door. It has an interconnecting door to room 408. Heating and cooling both work. Kitchenette has fridge, freezer, microwave, two electric hot plates, toaster, kettle and cutlery for two. Tea and coffee as well as those small long life milks! Nice and quiet location, easy access to the city via walking, tram or car. South of the city and across the road from the Shrine of Remembrance. A short walk also takes you to the beautiful Botannical Gardens, or to the MCG. We use this accommodation whenever we stay in the city due to the location, staff and amenities
Spacious apartment hotel, its like a home away from home. The hotel is a little bit dated but in a convenient location. Easy access to tram and you can walk easily to Southbank. It's a plus that you can check out late for $10 an hour. This is great if you are flying out of Melbourne in the evening like we were.
I have now stayed here twice and I won't be going back for a third time. The first time I stayed I had to ask to move to another room because there was a room scent that was so overpowering I could not be in the room. The second time I was given only a basic room when I had paid for a one bedroom apartment, though they did move me and give me a 2 bedroom apartment. The hotel itself is tired and the rooms are in need of a refresh. If this happened it would be great, considering the fantastic location. But until that happens I won't be going back; there are plenty of other good options close by. The staff have been nice every time I have gone and I have a friend who swears by the restaurant downstairs.
We were 4 adults and stayed in a two bedroom apartment and couldn't have been happier. The queen sized beds were comfortable and the rooms a very good size. The kitchenette was perfect for our needs as was the lounge. Being so central meant we could walk to places of interest. Staff were friendly and helpful especially when my husband left his glasses. They posted them promptly. We would highly recommend this hotel.
Not recommended for business travellers. The hotel looks worn out - all the furnishings are faded and look very overdue for replacement, giving the whole place a jaded and run-down atmosphere. During my three night stay, the Wifi was down twice, for extended periods, which met with a somewhat irritable denial when I complained that I needed Wifi to work, and that it was reasonable to expect them to fix it promptly. All the staff did was try to blame both my laptop and phone for not working (work perfectly elsewhere), before later admitting that there was indeed a fault which they were trying to fix, and that the Wifi would be working 'as soon as possible but don't know when'. The Wifi did finally spring into life, on the morning of my departure - too little, too late seems to be the hallmark of the service in this place. I asked for compensation for the Wifi service when I checked out and they did offer me free parking - even though I didn't have a car. They did switch this to a $12 free meal, which was a gesture, I suppose, but didn't compensate me for all the 3G data I had to use while there. Next time, I'll stay in Quest, just around the corner.
