Great location with tram stop nearby. Stayed in a two bedroom apartment which was more than what we needed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Resturant didn't look overall appealing. Would stay again. Very quiet.
We stayed during the Melbourne Grand Prix. The room and view of the Shrine was great, good friending staff and a great stay overall. Location is superb with the CBD only a short tram ride north or St Kilda to the south. Lots of shopping nearby in Prahran along Chapel St. The Restaurant was great for dinner. I’d try breakfast elsewhere next time. I ordered the light “fluffy pancakes” from the menu. They were not light, nor were they fluffy.
Stayed in 2 b/r apartment with no real views as I was in Tower complex. Balcony is the tiniest I've come across!. Room was very large and had all the needs. The good was 3 x TV's including both bedrooms, A/C worked well, Reception was helpful, courteous and had a free newspaper, quiet location, tram stop near door, parking is easy at $20 / night but remember you can street park for free on weekends. IGA is nearby for supplies. The lift is very fast and convenient too. The Bad is that the beds were old and tired (King bed is 2 singles zipper joined), The Lounges were old & tired and uncomfortable. Shower is in Bath with a water saver head so not that enjoyable. Freezer doesn't freeze either! Did not try Malaysian restaurant that is attached but meals looked good.
Spent only one night here, but the check in / check out was very quick and easy. Internet was fast and free. The room was big (the view from the room didn't really make sense to me - other rooms all looking into a courtyard), but the view from the balcony onto the botanic gardens was great. The size of the lounge, kitchen and dining area was huge with fridge, microwave, TV's in lounge and bedroom etc. The service was great - they called me to let me know someone had arrived. Book in advance as place fills up very quickly.
I've stayed here a couple of times for business and enjoyed both visits. The location across from the Shrine of Remembrance and on the tramline means the CBD is convenient, yet away from the hustle & bustle. Lovely staff, nice little bar - room service was good too. I had a room with windows all around and a great view of the Shrine on both visits so maybe I was lucky too :) Great choice for us.
We are staying again the night before Run 4 The Kids. Perfect to walk into the city for the evening. We have a studio room with a lounge area, double bed and kitchenette. Bathroom with shower over the bath. European style laundry with washing machine and dryer. Air conditioning works well. Out room has a internal connecting door, so suitable if traveling with friends
Overall the facilities are looking very tired. Stains on the carpet, bathroom tiles have visible mould and poor paint surfaces. Evening staff either do not speak english or are extremely rude. One would expect some acknowledgement when saying good evening passing through a completely empty foyer at 11pm. Room service prices match a 5 star hotel $30 for a club sandwich with no fries.
I stayed in a one bedroom, corner apartment overlooking the Shrine of Remembrance. The apartment was very comfortable and nicely appointed. I needed some extra crockery to serve lunch to some visiting colleagues and the hotel was happy to provide this for me. All the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. The location can't be faulted - 100m from the tram stop (the tram ride takes just a few minutes to the city centre), an easy walk to the Botanic Gardens and close to a well stocked IGA express. The pool is lovely (probably not so good for young children) and the gym looked quite good (I didn't use). Good value for the price. I will stay here again.
Room - huge, facilities - good, view - sensational. Away from the hustle and bustle. Very attentive staff and a wonderful location opposite The Shrine of Remembrance. Room to move and good quality amenities. Really quiet, easy to use air-con. Tram stop nearby, very little noise at night.
We enjoyed a stay here some time ago and decided to upgrade to an executive apartment. A very big mistake. On the first day we found the maintenance man in our room installing a new oven. We were not advised he would be working in our apartment. After he left we had a shower and found the floor outlet was blocked. Second morning we could not heat our breakfast as no one knew how to light the oven. After waiting nearly an hour for the maintenance man to come back we went out for breakfast. On return in the afternoon our room had not been attended so we had no dry towels:towels were not supplied for the pool either. We wanted to cook dinner but found that the 'fully equipped kitchen ' had no saucepans no fry pan and no microwave containers or oven dishes. The shower was unblocked but again no floor mats or face washers. We were given more towels. We went out for dinner. The staff did their best but clearly they had little understanding of our frustration. The management only seem concerned with Chinese guests, as witnessed by a sign on the reception desk proudly attesting to the high number of satisfied guests from China. They now have two very frustrated guests from New South Wales.
