I stayed in a one bedroom, corner apartment overlooking the Shrine of Remembrance. The apartment was very comfortable and nicely appointed. I needed some extra crockery to serve lunch to some visiting colleagues and the hotel was happy to provide this for me. All the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. The location can't be faulted - 100m from the tram stop (the tram ride takes just a few minutes to the city centre), an easy walk to the Botanic Gardens and close to a well stocked IGA express. The pool is lovely (probably not so good for young children) and the gym looked quite good (I didn't use). Good value for the price. I will stay here again.

Room - huge, facilities - good, view - sensational. Away from the hustle and bustle. Very attentive staff and a wonderful location opposite The Shrine of Remembrance. Room to move and good quality amenities. Really quiet, easy to use air-con. Tram stop nearby, very little noise at night.

We enjoyed a stay here some time ago and decided to upgrade to an executive apartment. A very big mistake. On the first day we found the maintenance man in our room installing a new oven. We were not advised he would be working in our apartment. After he left we had a shower and found the floor outlet was blocked. Second morning we could not heat our breakfast as no one knew how to light the oven. After waiting nearly an hour for the maintenance man to come back we went out for breakfast. On return in the afternoon our room had not been attended so we had no dry towels:towels were not supplied for the pool either. We wanted to cook dinner but found that the 'fully equipped kitchen ' had no saucepans no fry pan and no microwave containers or oven dishes. The shower was unblocked but again no floor mats or face washers. We were given more towels. We went out for dinner. The staff did their best but clearly they had little understanding of our frustration. The management only seem concerned with Chinese guests, as witnessed by a sign on the reception desk proudly attesting to the high number of satisfied guests from China. They now have two very frustrated guests from New South Wales.

My second stay at Seasons Botanic - I was looking forward to a restful night but alas. Greeted by a fire alarm and evacuation upon arrival, I was puzzled that there was no coordination (no staff giving directions, no wardens, no debrief) but that was nothing compared to the two evacuations in the early hours of the morning (around 4:30 and then an hour later). According to other guests, there were 6 all up - I had the pleasure of 3. It was difficult to find the muster point (an alley, but again no staff) and there was no information about an “all clear.” Guests were heard wondering, “Is that it?” Later that day, there was no information given about the alarms, nor that the problem had been fixed. No note in our rooms, no apology, no explanation. Considering that we were evacuated from our rooms (in pjs!) and no one had a good night’s sleep, we were disappointed in this non-response. Seeing desk staff running around the foyer instead of coordinating the evacuations was also a concern.

We found this hotel to be very clean. The room was well appointed, great pool and gym. The staff were efficient and friendly. The attached restaurant was OK, the staff were able to provide detailed information about the food.

As stated in other reviews - the apartments haven’t been updated recently - but all the furnishings are clean and our room was well appointed - so if you are after a modern swanky apartment this isn’t for you. I thought that this is reflected in the price and am very happy with our stay - all requests for extra kitchen equipment and cleaning were met efficiently - there are nearby mini supermarkets but we made the longer walk to Coles (no problem 15-20 mins) - apartment was large with a TV in each room giving kids their own space. The pool area is functional - we had a lot of fun - but the surrounds need some TLC. Tip - explore the streets around and behind the hotel for local and affordable restaurants.

The great: lovely restaurant attached, serving Asian inspired food - we ate here numerous times and were impressed with the quality. Convenient location - tram just a short walk from the door allowing easy access to the city and places like St Kilda. Alternatively it’s an easy , mostly flat walk to the city and botanic gardens across the road. Wi-fi usually reliable. The not so great: Dark decor in hallways feels old fashioned. Carpets appear worn and dated. The bed we had felt like a trampoline - husband would roll over in his sleep and jolt me awake in the process. Pillows so uncomfortable that I went out and bought myself another one at Big W. The lounge in front of the TV has collapsed in the middle and so people slouch towards the middle. Housekeeping quite hit and miss. We stayed here for almost 2 weeks and I don’t think the carpet got vacuumed at all - if it was, they weren’t very good.

Location was perfect for us looking across at the lush Botanical Gardens and just 15 minutes walk to The Centre. Our executive suite (P 503) which was very reasonably priced had 2 comfy beds, massive shower, kitchenette and washer/dryer. Restaurant makes good lattes and delicious veggie stir fry, again very reasonably priced. All in all, very quite, comfy and clean - though granted slightly tired. I found the staff to be super helpful, and will look for The Seasons hotels in other cities.

I have stayed in this place a number of times and it seems older and more tired each time I stay there. The staff are pleasant but the hotel has a number of shortcomings. One of the positives is it's proximity to the city. A short tram ride, or a bit longer walk, gets one into the city. However, the furniture in the rooms is becoming really dated, the cleaning is haphazard, for example over the Christmas days if service was required the reception needed to be notified that this was required but there appeared to be a disconnect as nothing happened. Trash bins in the kitchen were not cleared on two other occasions. There is a sort of restaurant attached but it offers almost nothing and not worth eating in. Try somewhere else.

Husband and I stayed there for two weeks while moving house. As the title says it's a great location. Our one bedroom apartment looked over St Kilda Road to the Royal Botanical Gardens and the Shrine. Fantastic view and very convenient to the city. 5 minute tram ride on you're in the middle of Melbourne. Unfortunately the service did not live up to the location especially the housekeeping. Couldn't get a complete set of towels, carpet only vaccumed if we asked for it to be done (and then not done well) and the tea towels were not changed for the whole two weeks. This was not a cheap place to stay and we expected better. Despite the convenience of the location and the beauty of the view, we wouldn't hurry back there.
