Nice park across the road is visually pleasing. Tram stop outside the door goes to Collins Street.

We had an issue with the pillows being too high which was causing neck pains so called the reception at around 11pm asking if they had extra pillows we could swap for. We waited for 1.5 hours but still no response as they said they would look into it and get back to us. We finally called at 12:30pm to follow up . Some weirdo picked up the phone and was making a high pitched voice mocking everything I was saying. The manager then took over the phone and apologized. We found out the next day that it was a guest who picked up the phone as the manager was away fixing some elevator issues!?!? They did give us a new pillow the next day but making us stay up until 1am for the wait was not ok! How do you let a guest pick up the phone?! Also, what kind of hotel only gives 30min of free wifi these days?

The Oaks on William was a great hotel located in the Melbourne CBD. The room itself was modern, spacious, and well lit. We had an oven, dishwasher, stove, microwave, fully stocked kitchen, and a full sized refrigerator. This was a huge perk to this room, as we could purchase snacks and take left overs home with no issues. Our room also had a deck that was very large where we could share drinks and breakfast. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Free wireless is only available 30 minutes a day and the hotel has no business center to speak of, which was a little challenging. The cafe that's attached to the hotel makes excellent coffee and is nice spot for a bit of breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

We spent 2 comfortable days there after flying in from LA. The room was as advertised, clean, nice view, comfortable bed. The location is in front of a big park, access to public transportation is excellent. The staff were friendly (aussie accent is a bit difficult to understand so maybe they could talk slower to us foreigners). I didn't notice that one had to pay extra for 24 hour internet access but their ad mentioned it - a bit expensive.

Great location and the staff were so very friendly! Last minute booking and very lucky we found it!
