I had a great stay at Oaks on Market! I arrived a few hours before check-in and while the room wasn't quite ready yet, the front desk staff offered to let me use the shower in the pool area which was very welcome after a long international flight. They also held my bags while I waited for my room to be ready. After returning a few hours later, the check-in process was very easy and smooth. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. The property is very well taken care of. The restaurant on site also offers a few great happy hour deals which was a great way to start off an evening. Location is also great and conveniently located. Overall, very good stay and would stay again.

The hotel is located between Collins and Flinders Streets, and is very convenient to catch free trams in any direction one chooses/pleases. The room was amply sized; the bed, and sofa were clean. The glass cooktop could do with some cleaning, but it wasn’t too dirty. The bathroom was huge and the toilet was clean. What was not was the shower area. The tiles had grout and mould stains. There were gaps between the tiles and the bathtub through when dark-coloured gunk/debris kept coming as one showered. Quite gross!!! (Unfortunately I had paid 40$ early checkin fee and was told it was the only room available at that time, so I didn’t bother complaining...)

Pros: My husband and I were pleased with the condition, cleanliness and size of the hotel room not to mention the convenience of location. Some famous attractions of Melbourne like the Confederation Square, the old train station and interesting restaurants are just walking distance from it. The staff who attended to us was also very friendly and helpful. Cons: We just wish there is a ramp at the entrance (although there are only a few steps) so it will be easier to pull luggages. Also, the lobby is too gray and some colours should be added to loosen the ambience.

Easy walking distance to public transportation, restaurants, shopping. Great location and friendly staff.

Great location. Great hotel. Nice amenities. Very convenient.

Great overall stay would recommend to anyone, good value for money!!

We love the hotel, it was veri confortable and close to many places within the city center.

Room was nice however you'd think a couch with two very noticeable hole would be covered. Very noisy. People running up and down the halls. You could hear people in next room. Had dinner at for Comic Con event and service was shocking. Wouldn't stay here again

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We got to use the gym and the pool, both were great as well. The location is perfect, right in the middle of Melburne´s center.

The accommodations were fine but seemed like there was an 'extra charge' for everything. It's ridiculous that wifi is not part of the deal, especially if you stay there for an extended period of time. Free wifi would be a huge draw business-wise in the city.

Central location, friendly staff, quiet and comfortable room, decent exercise room: overall, I had an excellent stay at Oaks on Market in Melbourne and I would highly recommend this place.

This hotel is in a great location in Melbourne with easy access to all buses, trams and trains. The rooms are spacious, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The pillow was not to my liking, but still OK. When you enter the room, you have to put your key into a wall slot to turn on the power to the A/C, lights, ect...very energy conscious, but be sure to charge at night when the power is ON. Also the heat and air are off, unless the card is inserted...if you get two cards, you can leave one in the slot all the time. The staff at this hotel is outstanding and could not be more friendly, kind and helpful...I felt very catered to by the staff. One issue is the bar next door...it's open VERY late in the morning and the noise carried up the outside of the hotel on Saturday night and kept us awake. Lots of drunk people screaming all night. Other than Saturdays noise, this was a fantastic stay and I would stay here again without a doubt!

The AC was not working. After asking repeatedly still it did not get fixed. At night when we requested repeatedly finally someone came and did give us a new room but still the AC was not working. Also the noise from the lift was very annoying.

The Oaks is a pretty standard hotel, nothing fancy. The towels are fairly thin, the amenities are basic. A friend of mine had a room near the elevator which he said was noisy. My room was quite a ways away from the elevator and I could still hear it "whirring" sometimes. It wasn't loud enough to be a distraction though. The bed was firm but comfortable. Foam filled pillows were nice - I hate feathers. The exercise room is small and has a bicycle, treadmill, elliptical. Didn't try the restaurant. Washers available in the basement, they worked fine.

The hotel is central . plenty of taxis around to get around anytime. staff friendly and accomodating , the rooms are nice enough and roomy . An ensuite would have made the stay more comfy.overall I would use Oaks again. the price was good and handy to city.

Great pool, gym not very good.

a great location. two blocks walk and there is a free bus service called "city circle" that loops the city. a short 10 min walk to "southbank" where there are really nice restaurants, shops, nightlife. Just around the corner from the hotel is Rush's Cafe, free wifi and the food is good and reasonably priced.

The Hotel was superb. Very clean, perfect location and close to everything and staff were very helpful and friendly. Only thing that the air-conditioned was hard to work out.

My two sisters and I made our annual trip to Australia and decided Melbourne was the place to be. We found a great deal - 2BD/1BA modern apt -one room was a queen and the other had 2 singles)with a fair amount of closet space, a clean kitchenette, bathroom with more than enough bath supplies and a sofa bed... It's located in CBD, across the street from the Immigration Museum, a 10-minute walk to Fed Square and the free tourist shuttle stop is right in front of the hotel. Melbourne is a great town for walking -- to the arts districts, shopping, eating, and gardens. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Having a sauna after a long day of travel was great but I wish that the spa (which shared water from the pool) could be heated up more like a hot tub and that they provided separate towels for the pool/Fitness Center. Overall a very positive experience.

We loved this hotel. It was right in the city, but very quiet. Lovely view. Hotel staff was very friendly & helpful. We stayed 9 days and never tired of it. We got an excellent deal with [...] - $114/night.
