Booked online for a very reasonable price, centrally located within an easy walk to CBD and tram right outside the door, Southern Cross Station and shops close by. Few minor maintenance issues but addressed with a smile, very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely return........
Right next to the train station and trams. Large rooms offering cooking facilitates. i stayed one night, and i'm glad, it's a very grim looking place and the staff are less than enthusiastic. Bed was ok, seamed clean enough. Good for a cheap place to crash for the night. Do not expect anything more.
Accommodation was clean, and well located within the CBD, easy transport links to the greater Melbourne area, hotel offers secure car parking at an additional cost and the hotel is accessed by secure swipe card system, accommodation is basic but liveable, comes with a balcony, the apartment doesn't have a safe, which would have been beneficial for leaving travel documents and giving peace of mind
This place, in conjunction with Wotif gives hotel booking agents a very bad name. Would recommend neither the Hotel, nor Wotif (Expedia) I made a booking for this Hotel on July 21 for a stay for one night on what I thought was July 25. I presented myself to check in at reception on July 25 to be told there was no booking. The receptionist did a search in their system and found I had somehow accidentally made the booking for one month later (August 22nd). I asked to change the future booking to that day (July 25), she informed me she couldn't although I think it was more of a case of wouldn't. As I needed accommodation for that evening, I decided to stay there that night and made another booking for another upfront fee, but direct to the hotel. Unfortunately I didn't have my computer with me and all the information relating to the mistaken booking date. I said to the obliging receptionist as she processed a second payment I would contact Wotif the following day and cancel the mistakenly booked date. I contacted Wotif the following day and requested the refund whereby I was told this was a non-refundable booking and it would be up to the hotel. I subsequently contacted the hotel and spoke with someone... who after much ado, finally told me the Manager's name (Mae). I was told she wasn't in and she "might call me back". I rang back a couple more times and finally managed to get hold of the Manager. She told me they didn't have the original Wotif funds I had made, and it was up to them as to whether it would be refunded. I contacted Wotif again and they declared it was "the hotel's responsibility" and she (Mae) had "declined the refund". I have been going back and forth with this issue with each denying the responsibility of a refund. I have now gained a copy of the hotels response to Wotif denying the refund, yet I have still been going back and forth trying to get my money back. After reading the Australian Consumer Law booklet 'Travel and Accommodation - An Industry Guide to the Australian Consumer Law' I feel this issue is exactly the same as a 'No Refunds' sign in a shop? SURELY the advance notice of a month to both Wotif and directly to the Hotel is more than enough notice to be able to re-let the room without any financial loss to either entity? I could understand if this error was realised with a few days or even a weeks notice, but a month?? At this point the issue has now been taken to Consumer Affairs Victoria and I trust will be resolved amicably and to my satisfaction with returning the monies paid for a room not used, and advertising a blatant 'NO REFUNDS' sign. As far as I'm concerned, once bitten twice shy and I shan't be using either of their services again and I suggest other punters think twice too. Just saying! Apart from this experience, the room was probably one of the worst hotel rooms I have ever stayed in... Dirty, Old, Dark and Dank, with many non-functioning facilities. This is not to mention how noisy it was!
A group stayed for 3 nights, 3 different rooms, after reading recent reviews I dreaded my choice of hotels but when we arrived we were greeted by very pleasant and efficient staff who processed our check for n very quickly. We had 2x one bedroom apartment and a 2 bedroom apartment all had balconies that looked over the roads, the noise if the balcony door was left open could be loud but with the door closed nothing could be heard. The beds were comfortable , the linen clean, towels changed every day. We had a kitchenette and a full kitchen in the larger apartment,tea,coffee and milk in the fridge for our convince which was replaced daily. Given not huge apartments, not 5 star but we did not pay for 5 star either. The trams were at the door so very easy to go on the city circle tram to anywhere in the city. A little out of main city area but still within walking or tram of the shopping area. Check out time is 10am but they allowed us to stay until 11am without extra cost.
This hotel is only a small (very small) step up from a backpackers, in fact, Ive stayed at backpackers which were nicer. We stayed in room 417 and there was zero appeal, the view was a filthy concrete wall, the bed was uncomfortable and noisy, everything had an aura of old, tried and abused. As if thats not enough the noise added insult to injury, the walls must be paper thin because we heard every coming and going, including the ones at 4am, and even though we didn't have a street view, we had plenty of street sound coming in. Forget the mini bar, the fridge was empty, it didn't even have a little UHT milk for making a coffee. I regret staying here, the money would have been better spent on the long taxi ride home.
In fact, it is a good hotel but still there some improvement they have to do: 1- check out time too much earlier because the international standard up to 12 clock. 2- no water to drink in the room. They suppose to 2 bottles of water. 3- the window need to be clean more than that.
Well I asked and booked for a 3 bed 2 bath for 6 adults. Before I arrived the dates got mixed up. When we arrived, we were told were being upgraded - well I am sorry but it was almost like a downgrade. Picture my husband lugging a large roller suitcase up a spiral staircase to a twin bedded room and ensuite with two catchy steps to it. The layout of the unit was not what I needed for adult couples. The room off the living room was for kids and the bottom queen size bed was meant to use the other bathroom???? Nothing worked. The tv antenna had been pulled from the tv so it was broken. The staff did find another tv but the twin beds were tied together on the mattresses. The dishwasher had no tablets to use it and they would only give me ONE! Toilet seat in ensuite broken. Fans in bottom toilet and bathroom did not work. A terrible smell was coming from the pipes. The smell on entering the garage was shocking walking past all the garbage bins. The lift buttons were all broken. There was patching on all of the walls in the rooms and the power points did not work. I am sorry but if you cleaned the place up and gave people what they asked for you would do really well. Your location is great and your staff friendly but give people what they ask for. I didn;t expect the world and I didn't get much at all.
Telephone was not working, heater was hard get it to work , needed to wash your own dishes , they only make your bed and clean had bathroom , best wash the location , walking distance to Etihad Stadium and Spencer Outlets shopping centre
I booked this place at the last minute as my aparthotel room had cancelled with 5 days notice. Given the price point, I wasn't expecting very much but I wasn't prepared for the poor state of the rooms. This hotel is extremely dated hotel - more like a half way house - from the lighting, the carpet, furniture and appliances. Just horrible. Staff were friendly enough but very unhelpful management. A fellow traveler accidentally booked a non-refundable room for the wrong night. An honest mistake. But they refused to change or cancel the booking and instead charged him another night to stay. The room he got was beyond disgusting - dirty carpets and walls, appliances not working and the front door wouldn't even close. And the noise.. ! Neither of us would stay here again or recommend it to anyone.
