During a family trip in March 2017 we stayed at this hotel for two nights - Friday to Sunday - with my wife and our young daughter (5 month old) and it was a comfortable and good stay. The hotel is located in an industrial area at the outskirts of Meerane. So it is very close to the highway A4 (Dresden - Erfurt) and it is surrounded by several industrial buildings and companys. Next door is a "Kaufland" supermarket and near by you will find a "MediaMarkt", a Subway and a McDonalds restaurant, a home improvement market and a "Shell" gas station. But the hotel itself is located at the back of this area and it is in a very quiet part - even at a weekend when most companies are closed. The hotel itself is very comfortable and well organized. You will enter a large lobby area with a long reception desk. Staff is friendly and helpful. The lobby opens to the bar, two restaurants and the stairs to wellness and sports area. The rooms are big enough to stay with two persons and we got a small baby bed that as well fits to the room. Bath as well was big enough and equipped with shower, sink and toilet. TV was available in the room and free WiFi is as well to get in the whole hotel. Breakfast is served in one of the restaurants and served in buffet style - incl. juices, ham, cheese, eggs in different styles, coffee, tea and different rolls. Not like a five star or luxury hotel but more than enough for a good start. Parking places are for free directly in front of the hotel. At least it is a typical business hotel but perfect for a stay for one or two nights if you don't expect a five star luxury collection hotel.
Simple hotel, also a Kuhrhaus, near Meerane. No air conditioning. Reminds of the seventies. Clean, but no atmosphere. Team is awful. Samples: Upon checkin we were asked of we need breakfast. We answered we might and will decide in the morning. We didn't take breakfast the next morning, but the hotel wanted to charge us "because your promised and we cooked for you".....we were able to talk our way out of this. We ordered a taxi. Now keep in mind this is a village. Two hours prior to the taxi arrival we canceled. The hotel wanted wanted to charge us "because we booked and you owe us money now". Again, we talked our way out of it. In one word: unfriendly.
We stayed there for two nights and enjoyed the hotel. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. Dinner in the hotel's restaurant was excellent as was the breakfast buffet. The wi-fi worked well for us, the free parking was convenient and we appreciated the front desk's attendant programming our car's GPS for us.
I lodged at this hotel 9 months ago, this is my third time here. I came back because it's a great hotel, very conveniently located, with a fabulous restaurant and perfect rooms. BUT for business travelers the wifi is extremely poor, I would have thought that if had been improved after 9 months!
Stayed in the hotel for a couple of nights. The location is far from the town center but close to some of the businesses in the area. Good size rooms, very clean and well furnished. Big size toilet. Very comfortable bed and linen; but no coffee or tea making facility for that early or late night cup. English speaking Hotel reception efficient and helpful. Excellent buffet breakfast and very good for lunch and dinner as well. WiFi is a major drawback. Totally unreliable. Cannot see any reason why it should not be much, much better since it is charged at 3 euros per 24 hrs. Frustrating for anyone who needs to stay connected otherwise can be managed for a very short stay.
I stayed here last week, only by default, as my favourite hotel was full. Everything about this hotel is just "ok". I certainly wouldn't rave about it, and I'll never know why it has a repuation as a luxury 4-star hotel. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean, large enough and well laid out, but the praise ends there. There are no tea/coffee making facilites in the room, the WiFi internet connection costs 3 euros per day and is woefully slow (I struggled even to make Skype voice calls and check emails), the breakfasts are nothing to write home about and there are no English language channels on the TV. In England, this hotel would compare to a cheap and cheerful basic Travel Lodge or Premier Inn; in my opinion it certainly doesn't deserve a 4-star rating. On the other hand, if you're just looking for somewhere clean and comfortable to stay on business, it will suffice... but is that really all you want? Additionally, unless you like McDonalds or Chinese, there are no restaurants within walking distance of this hotel. Something worth remembering if you're staying more than a couple of days.
The hotel is well situated, the rooms are versatile and the restaurant food is acceptable. What is lacking is the quality of guest service that should come standard at any hotel of this level. The front desk staff are less than helpful. The internet (which costs 3 Euro a day, or 15 Euro for you entire stay), is unreliable and slow. I would not recommend this hotel based on the poor service alone. Also charging guests extra to use the pool/hot tub (5 Euro) is ridiculous!
