It’s my second time at Maden Hotel and I love everything about it — great location and service! At check-in, Abdullah (same name as me!) was super kind and smiling. He even gave us a room with four beds instead of two! Funny part — next day our key didn’t work because we were checked in under someone else’s name, so we had breakfast for free haha. Still, amazing stay and I’ll definitely come back!

Floors 11 and 12 are exclusive for those who book through another website. Other rooms (which were given to us at first) were of a much lower quality in terms of room size, bed quality and size, and no coffee machine. We had to wait for the manager for a couple of hours to change our rooms to any in the 11th or 12th floor which eventually happened. I'm contacting Expedia customer support regarding this discrimination.

Over Rates - but Good location

Beds were uncomfortable. Room was extremely noisy, street construction can be heard inside the room, neighbors noise (Even their door bell) can be also heard, definitely rooms are not well sealed. Housekeeping response is very slow, we called for room cleaning and they didn’t come. We requested extra towels several times but they never brought them. Called for concierge to pick up our luggage for check out they said it will take them some time to come, so I had to carry the bags myself. Breakfast variety is excellent, but food quality is average. ventilation in the restaurant is extremely bad, so every time we went there our cloths catch the smell. No wifi was working in the hotel, not in the room- not in the reception... very annoying! The mattresses and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. Furniture and toilets extremely outdated. It gets very messy when you take a shower. Front office staff can disappear sometimes. Good things: location is 5 minutes walk to Haram and to ladies entry to mosque. 4 beds in the room was very nice. Room A/C was very nice. Water pressure in shower is good. The minibar fridge Cooling is extremely good. Elevator staff are very nice and helpful. Baskin Robins is available in the lower floor (though it was closed most of the time).

Hotel was good and Mr Ayman was very helpful , only problem was checking in took a long time as hotels.com booking ref and thier own internal ref is different but any way it was sorted out. Given a bigger room

Is this a 5 Star Hotel? NO NO NO NO NO 5 times NO

I booked this hotel thinking it's a 5 star hotel so service and rooms will be up to standard! I was wrong! BAD POINTS 1) I went to reception desk and asked for a porter - the Arab staff could not understand - there were 2 of them and I passed my Expedia booking confirmation print out. They could not make out anything of it - even when I pointed out the reference number. I told them it was booked more than a month back and its confirmed. They took ages to get me a Porter (as they only know the word Bell Boy for them) - whilst Taxi driver waited over half an hour!!! They told me for the booking I need to see Reservations manager as it's not on their system! I told them search by my name BUT they refused to listen. The reservation manager was on lunch so I had to wait. When the reservation manager came (Waqas) he was very helpful he went to desk and found my booking on the system! There was another Arab worked who came at same time as Waqas and he was very good as well as he could communicate well enough to figure out my situation. 2) We got our room after over an hour wait!!! 3) Room was not clean and there were pins on the floor which are fatal for any Diabetic person! Room decor very poor worn down. Nothing was 5 star except for the lifts! 4) All staff very slow and looked fed up!
