It was a nice, quiet stay in a quaint, old cabin styled house. With the age of the building, it was not very warm. The fireplace and upstairs pipe heat was nice, but an inconvenience. The fire really has to be going 24/7 to keep this drafty, inefficient house slightly warmed. When we arrived, the housekeeper had started the fire shortly before, which was very nice. Unfortunately, EVERY window was unlocked in the house and a few were even cracked open or not aligned right and didn't close. The owner was not concerned about the safety of the home, with it being a "good area", but had we not checked, we would've been fighting the cold temps. (It should also have been a concern for the tenants comfort and safety.) (Luckily, there isn't electric heat or they would be paying a TON!)
Once we got situated and familiar there, we were comfortable on the massive couch, enjoyed an accomodating kitchen and large dining table for games and meals, slept in comfortable beds, and enjoyed the general peace and quiet of the neighbourhood.
The house was mostly clean, linens were fresh, and the options for games and books were great. The whole building needs updating, but for the price and other positives, this house was a great stay.
We would stay here again, since we are familiar now and the quiet and nature were amazing. I would love to see it in the summer!
I recommend this place, but suggest updating the house, like from the bones.

Wonderful Place
Very comfortable, lots of space, had fun playing guitar on the balcony looking into beautiful trees. Indoor jacuzzi was a plus. The 3 of us found more and more about it that we enjoyed. Will stay again.

Beyond satisfied
The property is even prettier than what the pictures show, the space is very cozy and comfortable. The little loft in the second floor is amazing. It creates the perfect space to disconnect (even if you are with a larger group lol). The kitchen is big and it has everything you need and more. The whole place is fully equipped. The host is amazing, she called the morning of our trip and gave me all the information I needed and even suggested a couple of places to visit which was great because that was our first time in the area. The neighborhood is quiet and has everything you need near by. We really enjoyed our stay overall.

A Few Tweaks Will Make This a Great Place to Stay
This is a charming, rustic house in a small, quiet community. Many touches have updated this older building, making it a comfortable and attractive lodging. Pleasant décor, ample and high-quality mattresses and linens, a reasonably well supplied kitchen, and an excellent information binder were pluses.
There were, however, several minuses:
The shower in the master bathroom had multiple dials and nozzles and no directions about how to use them, making it unusable until we reached the owner the next day.
The 1-person soaking tub looked awesome, but directions to it warned that once filled, no hot water would be available for showers until the water heater refilled.
Porch furniture was beyond rustic.
The kitchen had no small cutting boards and few knives.
The icemaker in the fridge (located just beyond the kitchen) overflowed and when cleared produced no more ice.
We reported the smell of propane on our 2nd day. The owners were not local and with no local property manager, this was not investigated until on the 3rd day we reported that the stove and oven no longer worked. We were offered $50 to cover the inconvenience of having to go to restaurants for our remaining cooked meals (1 breakfast + tip for 4 adults was $94). The good intention was appreciated but the offer was underwhelming. Suggestion: Generosity builds loyalty.
Hikes to the McCloud Falls and Mt Shasta were spectacular. I hope our input will enable future guests to enjoy these places and this house, too.

Geocaching in the Klamath National Forest
We spent five days in the area. This house is exactly what we expected. It has a funky style about it. It was clean and the beds were comfy. All the usual amenities were there. I guess the only recommendation I would have is to have a slightly better stocked drawer of kitchen utensils like spatulas. The view of Mt. Shasta from the front of the house is fantastic.
