It was a nice, quiet stay in a quaint, old cabin styled house. With the age of the building, it was not very warm. The fireplace and upstairs pipe heat was nice, but an inconvenience. The fire really has to be going 24/7 to keep this drafty, inefficient house slightly warmed. When we arrived, the housekeeper had started the fire shortly before, which was very nice. Unfortunately, EVERY window was unlocked in the house and a few were even cracked open or not aligned right and didn't close. The owner was not concerned about the safety of the home, with it being a "good area", but had we not checked, we would've been fighting the cold temps. (It should also have been a concern for the tenants comfort and safety.) (Luckily, there isn't electric heat or they would be paying a TON!)
Once we got situated and familiar there, we were comfortable on the massive couch, enjoyed an accomodating kitchen and large dining table for games and meals, slept in comfortable beds, and enjoyed the general peace and quiet of the neighbourhood.
The house was mostly clean, linens were fresh, and the options for games and books were great. The whole building needs updating, but for the price and other positives, this house was a great stay.
We would stay here again, since we are familiar now and the quiet and nature were amazing. I would love to see it in the summer!
I recommend this place, but suggest updating the house, like from the bones.
