Stayed W-S nights for CBU v UTRGV Baseball. CBU baseball stayed there. Clean, good parking. Had kitchenette, nice. No Ice machine 2nd floor. Thin walls, could hear upstairs tromping floor. Friendly staff. Helpful. Many cleaning room could not speak English, but tried to respond to requests. Discounts for seniors, education. Free breakfast was changed up a little each day. Plenty and good. Good juice selection. All ball players enjoyed it. Inside/Outside area around bar. Less than a mile from interstate and 281. About ten minutes to UTRGV baseball field. Hotel is sponsor of UTRGV events. Motivated to please teams and supporters visiting.
I stayed a couple of nights and enjoyed my stay. The hotel is clean and the rooms comfortable. The fitness center is disappointing since no recumbent bike. They have a modest selection of appetizers in the evening.
SUPERB!. Everyone in the front desk was very friendly and had a genuine smile when I was greeted. The person in the front desk called me right away when they found that i had drop my Drivers Licence. Anita from Housekeeping, in my opinion was the Best! by going the extra mile, talking and building a relationship with the customer. Making this place feel like home and more desirable for my next stay.
We usually stay at this hotel when visiting, but I was very disappointed this stay. There needs to be a floor specific for those bring pets. I probably will not book there again...ever. It’s a newer hotel, but the maintenance and cleaning needs to be better as it will not hold up through the years. We didn’t get an upgrade because they were fully boooked, but was told that the 4th floor was the quietest. That wasn’t the case. On one side, there was a dog that was yelping/barking early in the morning for over an hour! The other room next to ours, someone was flicking the bathroom light switch on/off early the next morning. I am so exhausted and got no rest during our stay, so we decided to check out early. It also smelled like dogs and I was not happy about that. We are pet owners and that is unacceptable. If people want to bring their pets along on a trip, be considerate of others and train your pets! We will never stay there again after this experience.
After an uncomfortable stay in Edinburg I decided to try a new Hotel. TownePlace was close to my business location and I thought why not. I am delighted to report that it is a most excellent and cost efficient hotel. It has a full kitchen, free Wifi exceptional work space and great walk-in shower. Breakfast is provided and is very good. The bar in the evening with one complimentary drink is nice also. Lovely pool and even dry cleaning and laundry service. Staff are always courteous and prompt. I’ve stayed here 4 times so far and have no plans on changing anytime soon. This hotel is an exceptional value for price. Hulu, Netflix and Crackle are provided for entertainment.
First the good! The staff were amazing, helpful, and friendly. Everyone from the front desk to the breakfast staff to the bartender were great. The bar had a good selection of Texas and local microbrews. The hotel is new and so is in good condition. Also it might not look like it but you can walk to some restaurants and shops if you are brave and like to stretch your legs -- and the Taco Palenque place nearby is good. That said it is not the best in town. I've stayed near the airport before in a hotel with more characters, bigger rooms, and a way better breakfast. A lot of little details need work here: having the promised towels at the pool, not having cleaners leave the toilet seat up, the AC filters out, vacuum the corners, restocking the coffee and tea with an eye for each type, etc. With the great staff this place could be excellent but the company needs to make more effort and invest more.
The staff was so friendly and helpful. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean and bed and pillows were very comfortable. Nice patio for outdoor seating too! I usually prefer not to stay in a hotel, however, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
This is a very new property and follows the pattern of other townplace suite layouts built in the the past few years. Room layout is comfortable and efficient. Lobby and rooms are very clean and the staff is very helpful. Outside. appears to still be under construction because the road in is narrow and difficult to navigate especially when trying to get in and out from the main road. I suspect this will change when the grounds area is completed. There’s not much in the way of eateries or things to do within walking distance, but plenty of eating options a short drive away. This will be my first choice the next time I am in Edinburg.
This was one of the nicer places I’ve stayed in for a while. Property more than exceeded my expectations. My room was a decent size for a single person - huge walk in shower, full kitchen, large bed, and comfortable/clean living area. The breakfast offered was full of hot items such as potatoes, eggs, and meat - in addition to other standard continental breakfast items. Food was warm and well stocked. They also offer afternoon/early evening snacks. I was not aware of this until my last night of my five night stay. I wish the front desk staff had told me when I checked it - it would have beaten my snack bag from the dollar store I wound up getting! This property seems very new, and is in a growing and seemingly safe area. I would highly recommend it. I review EVERY hotel property that I stay in - good and bad - as I travel extensively with my job and family. My reviews are both fair and honest. I receive so much help and advice by using TripAdvisor that I respond back to the community in return of the favor.
I needed a hotel room to stay for the weekend so that I could visit a family member who was in the hospital. I contacted the Marriott Townsuites and they immediately accomadated my wife and me. When we checked in Maricruz Nieto greeted us with a warm smile and was very courteous and professional. We were provided a nice room that was very comfortable, clean and spaciouos. This hotel is relatively new, so everything was nice from the furnishing to the fixtures. Everyone at this hotel was very nice and courteous which definately was a plus considering our situation. As a plus, I give them high marks for honoring our request for a late checkout. I definately recommend this property and will stay here again in the future.
